Nice isolation, never heard the separation of the "Shoot Me" stuff from the lead, or the drums in the AI seperarions, very interesting. I also think you're the only person to have edited George's guitar back together, or isolated it properly. Most people just use the weird, cut-up track from the Rockband MOGGs, so I mist commend you on that. I must note, though, the piano was Paul. Geoff Emerick was probably misremembering or possibly bullshitting (no accusations, but surely everyone who worked with the Beatles, including themselves, have bent the truth while telling a story or two). If you look up rehearsals for John's MSG shows in '72, he was talking to his keyboardist about playing the walkdown part right, & he tells him to "take the record home & listen to it", &, specifically, that "it has to be simple or else Paul couldn't have played it", but that "his left hand's like his right hand". Straight from the horse's mouth, directly referencing the album cut, & barely 3 years after recording? That's what I'm going with. Also, here's a link I just found. th-cam.com/video/i83mFgEyYgk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=B-RUjSt7eTWjM8ie 01:10 to about 02:40-ish. Always show your sources. As you pointed out, though, while Geoff's stories are a great insight into the time & the process, they can quite often have him misremembering things, or jumbling stories up, shit like that. Time does things to everything & everyone. Also, on a side note, I'm sad to lose the "got to get injections" bleed in the drums just before the final chorus. For those of you wondering, the original lyric was "got to get injections", before someone (I'd say John, but who knows?) changed it to "got to be good lookin'". I just miss the sort of interesting shit you hear in the bleed of the stems. Almost like each song has it's own little "making of" documentary you have to piece together yourself. Still, some damn fine work here, & I can't wait to hear more.
Could've been either as Geoff Emerick said John learned the part from Paul, however It's Geoff Emerick so it isn't concrete as everything he says needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
More comments from "Beatles fans" who do not really like the band, but instead love just one member of the band. Why are you not able to just enjoy the great music? Looking over shoulders? What the? Enjoy life, guys.
@@RR-uj2vx The looking over the shoulders is an anecdote from session engineer Geoff Emerick. It's not about liking Lennon more or liking McCartney more there's just different anecdotes that point to John learning the part from Paul and playing it. Or Paul could've just played it. You can enjoy the music and debate about who played what as there are some tracks that we still don't completely know. That's the magic of the Beatles there's still people investigating the smallest things.
It’s close-mic’ed. A sweater (or something similar) was placed inside the bass drum to dampen the sound. Additional compression was added to mask out the extra noise that comes with a more sensitive output. This is a technique used from Revolver onwards, and we have Geoff Emerick to thank for that. The drums on Abbey Road sound better than usual because a new mixing console was installed which allowed the Beatles, for the first time in their careers, to individually EQ each track.

Electric piano is played by McCartney . Not Lennon :)
But hasn’t it also been reported that John (looking over Paul’s shoulder) copied and recorded over Paul’s original piano part?
