kinda sad but kinda cool ..... come to california with your Van when your done ..... i'll kick it with you ..... finding places like this .... i don't have a friend to do it either
Nebraska is so much prettier than I knew. I assumed it was very flat, and mostly farmland. The towns you passed through are so quaint and a bit of a throwback to mid century. Nebraska is a state that doesn’t get much attention by nomads. Thanks for sharing your trip and the lovely scenery with us.
If you ever make it out to Pennsylvania, you'd love Bushkill Falls in the Pocono Mountains. It's absolutely gorgeous. Series of 8 privately owned waterfalls (the tallest is over 100ft). There are multiple well maintained hiking trails of varying difficulty that take you to the individual falls. Love your videos!
WOW you're great at finding beautiful out of the way places to hike and visit and camp thanks so much for taking us along with you I so look forward to doing the same thing in the future but right now my commitment is keeping me for it but I will get there eventually and still offering you a invitation to visit Washington State and my neck of the woods I feel you would like it out here and love to be a guide to where the best spots to go are looking forward to seeing your next video Kraig from Washington State
There is plenty of free camping in South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana (is west) has free camping. There are a ton of apps and I also bought some books. I have links if you need them
That creek at 3:15 reminds me of a place we lived near after my mom divorced my Dad in 1985. I didnt like it there because she ended up getting with a loser and people would bully him. In other words, he brought bad things to my family and I was always the one that had to shut everything down, meaning stand up to the mother fuckers because he wouldnt or couldnt. Then my mom decided to have two more children with him and he was already fifty percent attached on his paycheck for life due to having three children from a previous marriage. He had made a lot of enemies and like I said he only brought bad things so I really had to protect myself. Im not telling you what to do, its just something I see. I know youre going to places like this to get away and try to get some relaxation somehow but if I were you, I would be trying to get at least an acre of land with at least the smallest modular or smallest mobile home you can find so you can have your own actual home base. Smallest construction office trailer on wheels with the manufactured housing designation affixed on it. The offices without wheels do not have that designation. Its possible to get a twenty foot construction office trailer and add a sink with a hand pump and a 5 gallon bucket of water then that constitues running water. What youre doing now could be pulled right out from underneath you. Youre a real nice person, a really good person. Dont let that happen to yourself.
@@vanlifemeow You definitely can. "Manufactured Housing" or similar designation affixed to the unit is the way to go. It takes time to do it but the sooner you start doing anything towards that, the sooner it's a reality. It's harder to do it when you're older. It's still within reach and you're a little bit younger than me. They will try to change the rules for many things. I would begin before all of the factors and rules align against you. There are some out there that have the knowledge to do it but really, they aren't going to be that many who will actually do it. You'll see the rise and fall of many people. People who seemingly had everything but through their foolishness and not having a sense of urgency, they will lose everything. I hardly had a break ever through my 20’s, 30's, and even until now at age 48. I was raising a child under impossible circumstances. I would be on my land already. I just got my vehicle back on the road today. Not sure what year you have, if that's a Buick. It looks like an older one. I would swap out the ignition module as premaintenance and carry an extra. On those, the ignition modules like to get hot and fail when they get old. If that's the replacable type, the one I'm thinking of. Yes, you only have one life and you were able to fit your uhaul. It's the thing of when your older, you're more tired to do what you could do before and there might not be anyone willing to give you help you with anything by then. I've always done things myself but I wouldn't have enough energy to rebuild everything I have in place at this point if it were all gone. That's why I'm typing this comment to you, giving you some insight. Your uhaul is a smart thing. Don't give up on anything you're doing.
thank you for the wisdom. i have a 10-year plan for the van then i will decide what to do with my life going into my 50's. i'm into vintage mobile homes. i would love to buy a property somewhere and park an old trailer on it with solar, septic and a well.
@@vanlifemeow That's a good plan. Whatever path you take that makes your life good is the one to take. Those things can change. I ended up with a house but it was something that, whether that would have happened or not, I was okay with it. What I'm doing now and having this house is not my long term plan even though some people would say that I've already "arrived." Where I live is becoming like a mini los angeles. I can sell my house for quite a lot and have an excellent start off grid out on my land but it would be foolish for me to stay here in my older years due to rising prices of everything. Many people would not see that but I do. I've invested in my off grid equipment, just doing things one by one and not expecting to do everything overnight. Throwing a lot of money at my land makes it go fast I suppose but I'm saving a lot just by doing it a little at a time. Then, I can have something for retirement when I sell the house and I'll also have my spouses pension who happens to be 20 years older than me. I've also planned for the scenario if I somehow don't get the pension in case she goes into a nursing home and they require that for her care. But, due to my hard work, I'm going to be okay either way. Really important to stay away from anyone who sabotages you. I'd be further ahead, if I had done that better. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks.
Most of the Ponderosa pines in Utah have died. I think it's from climate change not killing the beetles that attack them. But for some reason, all the Austrian pines are doing good.

Awesome drone footage! Nice to see a tranquil place in these stormy times!
Awesome video! 👍
4 out of 5
meows 👍
You truly have an eye for beauty. If that's teeth pulling...lol. Love the content.
Liked your video. By the way, there are a lot of wildlife refugees along the Texas coast.
The pines may have the invasive pine beetle. Which kills trees. They usually do not want you to move wood from one area to the next spot.

i would like to homestead an off-grid property some day. that's kind of the natural progression of vanlife i think

How do you sleep in your car?
i use the amazon car bed. its an air mattress designed to fit in a car
Some places where animals are you can’t fly drones. I would check the rules.
my drone alerts me if im flying in a restricted area. its gps controlled
Once you start posting camping + kitties, the cat ladies are going to flood your channel, be prepared ✌️
