It's brand new ... but the MPC OS (that powers all the MPCs) has been gaining features steadily in the last couple of years. Opening eyes like mine who new to it all with Key 37
Thank you for this video. I really like the idea of the MPC (even without the keyboard) but I don’t like what everybody’s doing with it: You pick a random 1950’s sample, chop it, manipulate it, and in the end it sounds almost identical to other’s beats. Guys with a MPC, there’s so much richness sound wise all around.
That was a great video....thank you. I think you've convinced me to jump into the Akai world. I've been considering for a "dawless" option to compliment my PreSonus, Arturia and NI environment, and your video made the case. I was wondering if you have any, or know of any MPC fundamentals videos on general concepts and language unique to Akai and the MPC? Mapping terms used to system elements and their subsequent workflows always takes some study, and your fluidity with the system(s) was super helpful in that department. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video. I’m just starting out with an MPC Mini Play and about to buy Seqtrak. I am investing in the Yamaha because I like the portability. This certainly looks like a great machine even for a beginner. Your intro here certainly makes it look easy. Could you please continue with the project? I would like to see how you tweak the tracks to give it nuance as well as the vocal production. Kind of like a “how to make a song, from start to finish” series. Cheers again.
Nice! So as far as learning any system it takes a little time but it's fairly intuitive once you start to understand the workflow. I might do something like that.
I feel like this is really sick thing to own, I want one to use mainly as a hardware soft synth lol but learning the full MPC workflow seems doable with this thing, not sure how long it would take me but I do see a lot of potential out of this unit
Hi! I have some synthetizers and I want to record them in real time without a computer. Is there a product like this, but only with the function of recording, muting and storing samples, and pads? Thank You for this kind of videos, I'm learning a lot.
If you discard the cheesy music that's being made here then this is actually a great video that demonstrates to outsiders what an MPC can do. The non-sampling part that is. If you start sampling then the MPC really comes into its own.
I love the concept of MPC Key 37, but I'm torn on the tech specs, mainly on RAM and paid plugins. 2 GBs of RAM don't seem like enough for larger sessions or more complex patches. InMusic (conglomerate behind AKAI and many other brands) also tends to charge a lot for additional plugins, a good example of that is one of their newest instruments called Jura (modeled after Roland's Juno series). Don't get me wrong, it seems like pretty good and fun piece of gear to work with, but it still has its quirks and issues. I nearly forgot: it's a pretty good review, Chay, keep it up!!!
Keep in mind 95 percent of the MPCs sold in this generation have 2GB of RAM. That said, I've done just about everything I can think of doing on MPC Key 37 and haven't hit a wall once. Really, the only thing the extra RAM does is allow you to load multiple instances of the resource-hog plug-ins like Fabric XL, Studio Strings and the Stage instruments. With 2GB ram you can load 3-4 instances of the BIG sample-based plugs. Otherwise, using algo-based synths like Jura and OP-4 there's almost no RAM usage. You'll run out of instrument slots (8) way before your RAM. Hope that alleviates your worries ...
It's a lot packed into one system. There's a little bit of a learning curve but once you start to understand the workflow it begins to click. Just dive in and press buttons. if you need to figure something out there are tons of videos specific to what you're looking for and the manual is a good reference as well
You can also purchase the mpc bible the guy who wrote the book updates the ebook from time to time. The MPC Bible will have you up and running quickly.
You will enjoy it even more now it's getting the MPC3 update, I also own an Akai Force Pro, but this bad boy is coming my way, only one thing that keeps me waiting to buy one of these, is the only 2GB of ram..
All the djs...djs cool down calm down...we know this doesnt look like a dj setup but what he meant here is that the performance via this gear would sound just like a dj setup...u know..ppl these days love djs only..ppl have stopped liking live bands and even singers to some extent...this generation just wanna dance continously on a seamless non stop music for hours😅😅 very few ppl now even want to interact with the artist(s) and just listen and dance to "DJ music" for hours.. like not everywhere but in hell lot of places around the entire globe now😅😅😅
It is. So is the $1,500 Key 61. I have one and it's absolutely fine. Since it's not the smallest (but small enough; it fits in my mixer stand), having it be light (8 pounds) makes it easier to lug around (and I do because I love using it so much no matter where I am in the house.) The I/O is fine and actually quite good for a $900 keyboard workstation. There is an SD card slot now. No regrets on my Key 37.
Это синтезатор или миди клавиатура- я так и не понял! Если синтезатор- почему ты тогда сделали такой плохой обзор на возможности создания электронной музыки?! Два варианта твоих композиций- это ничтожно мало!!!!!
Cool demo but dumb ass click-bait title. Who in hell would see a device with keys & think it was a DJ thing. It doesn't even have a crossfader like the Force. Plus who's to say a DJ wouldn't want this to make up for not having a device with keys & drum pads? FYI, as if you care, DJ's were the some of the first to make MPCs popular back in the 80's.
Check Out MPC Key 37 and other gear I use here - hyperfollow.com/MYGEAR
stfu your intro already pissed us off we been rocking the Akai gear way before you where born
Stunning demo video!
One of the best demos of this i have seen yet. I tgink this one of the most ergonomic MPC systems yet.
This covered a lot of ground, for such a short time, and with nicely assembled simple song. "Sounds" winsome, IMO. 😉 👌 🤔
I have learned so much just watching this video god sake. Thanks !
damnnnnn thats a awesome machine wow....never new they packed all that into something like that ...wow man
It's brand new ... but the MPC OS (that powers all the MPCs) has been gaining features steadily in the last couple of years. Opening eyes like mine who new to it all with Key 37
The update of the MPC software MPC3 is WOW!
woooaaaawwww genius !!! the name and utilisation on gear is : MPC music product center
Excellent, no nonsense demo and a nice beat.
My gawd this video is so inspirational. I had an mpc one. My key 37 is coming saturday. Xcited.
Mines is coming this weekend.im so excited like you was when you got yours.
They look great I’m pretty interested myself.
Aaannnd..... another Sub .....for Chay. 😊

That's awesome! There's tons of videos on TH-cam and the manual is good too but nothing beats diving in and pressing buttons.
@@CHAYsoundsYou got that right....thanks!
Thanks for the video.

It's actually A LOT to wrap your head around even if you have massive experience with synths, workstations and DAWs. But I mean that in a good way.
Nice! So as far as learning any system it takes a little time but it's fairly intuitive once you start to understand the workflow. I might do something like that.
Great video ! I have been watching it many times, do you confirm that the workflow can be used live without pausing the loops ?
Great video. I didn’t know you can assign sounds to different parts of the keys . Where can I find how to do it?
Thank you so much for this.
I was wondering how many audio tracks the key 37 take. I know the keys 61 has 8 audio tracks.
I feel like this is really sick thing to own, I want one to use mainly as a hardware soft synth lol but learning the full MPC workflow seems doable with this thing, not sure how long it would take me but I do see a lot of potential out of this unit
Very impressive!! How to make a really catchy tune on a few minutes 💥💥💯💯
Which is the better this or the live 2 ? Thanks

like shut up and take my money ?

With that large screen, it reminds me of an iPad setup with a nice Novation MIDI controller.
As somebody who uses an iPad with a keyboard controller, it's a fair statement in the best sense of it. Loving my Key 37!
Good stuff. Liked and subscribed.

Seems low, but it’s a linux based OS. I own the MPC live. If your SSD is fast enough there‘ll be no problems appearing.

Nice pattern, but how would you arrange this into a song?
The way I did it here was with song mode but you can also arrange directly in a sequence.
Can you get new sounds and kits from their site or other sites?
Is this basically the same as having a keyboard with the mpc one plus?
C.H.A.Y. - Patch Creation (Intro)
I bought it and I’m stuck, still very unfamiliar with the layout of the daw
Stick with it ... After about a month now of heavy usage, I'm finally figuring things out and being able to do what I want ...

C.H.A.Y. & J-Drop - Break AKAI (Drop The Lime)
would you recomed this or op-1?
its definitely for me love it thanks

C.H.A.Y. & Rema - The

I never knew Akai marketed this as a DJ setup....
Can I plug my guitar into it?
C.H.A.Y. - Lights

Shut up and take my money 👉💰!!
C.H.A.Y. & Rema - Owerview
Great! No nonsense talking like on the most popular channels.
The real question is cannot vocode?
It can! It has pretty much al the essential Vocal effects most people need
Tracklist:
Can I made a psytrance
Don't make me whipput my old uma25s bro
I’m sure you could save yourself a couple hundred dollars by just hooking up a MIDI keyboard to an MPC One
really
wtf it looks small in this video but every other video it looks huge maybe im trippin out lol
Also it’s still a DAW…..
it's def more DJ since it's only got 4 voices...obviously targeted toward knob tweakers who have no idea how to play chords
make me a song for my youtube chanle
The build looks all plastic. Is this right? This has less I/O than the Live2 and is there a SATA card slot? I can’t tell. Eh…

nobody mistook it, nor could anybody mistake a keyboard for a dj setup. 🤦🏻♂️
Da wäre ich mir nicht so sicher...
i thought it was a fucking microwave
I did
Terrible title
No one thinks it’s a DJ Setup 🙄
exactly this guy is fighting the air
Why would it be a Dj setup?
