Oh and most semiconductors and computer chips are made in East Asia not in California. California focuses more on software. The chips act would mean more domestic production here in the states. It's a matter of national security and it makes us a lot less reliant on China and Taiwan.

Most importantly, it will make the US technology sector significantly competitive and less reliant on foreign companies. This may increase some costs in the short term, but in the long term it will provide stability for the country's economy.
All these positives and conservatives will still find a reason to complain. 😔

This is about reducing dependency on China for microchips which is a massive national security issue, not implantable chips. Though that’s coming too I’m sure, but this act is a good thing.
