Thank you for promoting our island. The Tourism Authority and the hotels should learn from you to promote the tourism industry. This is what tourists are looking for. This type of activity will benefit ALL mauritians.
What a mouth-watering video ! The Pakistan Hotel is indeed a hub of culinary delights which has been going for decades, and regularly frequented by the locals of Plaine Verte and day-trippers from far and wide. What never ceases to amaze me however is your enthusiasm for sampling the variety of Mauritian delicacies and giving them such a spin that one can't wait to give it a try. Full marks for the way you and Ricky do this. Other You Tubers , mainly the expats should take a leaf out of your book as they tend to adapt an elitist and snobby attitude in compiling their output, whereas your videos give a more entertaining account of life in Mauritius. Looking forward to more of the same.
May Allah SWT bless South Africa and its beautiful people from Pakistan 🙂. As a Pakistani I fully support love and respect South Africa sovereignty and territorial integrity from Pakistan 🙂
This is my uncle place… I’m missing home so badly now…. This place was started by my grandad….in the 80s this place was different…..there was a lot of ballers, hustlers, gamblers, police ,politicians hanging there….my grandad knew everybody and all my uncles used to work there…..this place has changed so much….this is my uncle mamade on the counter in red…he runs it now….most my uncles passed away,…..this place is next door to old first prime minister sir ramgoolam place….. I met indira ghandi there….. I came to london to change my life around….probably saved my life too
Looks so yummy .. so good to see these tea shops are still going strong. I remember stopping in one of these when out for a night spin with friends long time back.
Simple great photography makes this a very interesting video on the immortal Pakistan Hotel on Desforges Street....Surely it makes us smile at the innocent so British accent...It shows Mauritius has more to offer than its fine beaches...a foody s paradise..as well...!!!
The vege thing looks like an achar. Fried chili in batter. Eat is as soon as they take it from the hot oil land then drink a cup of hot tea.. Triple heat lol. Making Haleem tonight.
Thank you for showing the tasty cultural foods of the island. It also shows the new atmosphere in the city, lots of new developments and new businesses, a variety of food, no need to go to Pakistan to eat them it's all readily available right there. Different cultures Different foods all available easily just enjoy and be happy healthy and love and respect your neighbors and their food. Food brings people together isn't. Even a cup of tea is enough to do that. Always enjoy the videos great effort, beautiful couple. God bless. From North York Canada
Hi there! Great to see you in another vlog! I know this place but never been in as it's usually super busy! The price a bit high(maybe because it's PLouis capital and all....)but the food looks tempting though....cheers!
The food looked colourful and great 😍 I’m seeing some foods for the first time Definitely would like to try this place Thanks for sharing Bryan and Riki ❤️
@@BryanDiscoversWorld After nearly 22 years in Australia and with the Covid 19 pandemic, we’ve had to start making our Mauritian food here. But yes we need to visit Mauritius, hopefully next year. By the way, we love your videos.
How about interviewing random people about their story and what life is like in Mauritius. Sit down with them in a quiet park and share a meal and conversation. You guys have blessed our eyes with your video footage of buildings, malls, beaches, food and country drives, but we are missing local conversation with the locals. Is language a problem with doing this? Durban,SA
Hi I am Mauritian n we love going from time to time to Pakistan hotel for dinner Its tasty n u eat well at reasonable price Worth it U should try the curries with rice or nans which is the indian bread Its typical mauritian atmosphere with a touch of indian culture
Well in Pakistan people of ALL communities come and enjoy a peaceful momemt. We dont need Chinese or Creole hotels only. We are Mauritians. We go to school as mauritians. We meet colleagues at work as mauritians. Any place we go is mixed except of course for prayers where each community go separately to their mosque mandir church etc. So as i say no need to devote a place like a restaurant specifically for a specific community. We are mauritians who live peacefully while respecting each other's cultural differences.
@@BryanDiscoversWorld oh yeah, you wont see such thing everywhere in mru. From what i heard, its the only place that does it. Some says its religious purposes, some says to keep flies away. Whatever is it, i know alot of people wont go in just because of the smokes. But not everybody is bothered by it. This type of place is called "Tea Hotel". There use to be alot of them. But now, there is only a few left. Any "tea hotel" you go you will get exactly same kind of food. They use to be near cinemas. As soon as you finish watching movies, you go and have tea with freshly made hot bread butter cheese and "gato piment". But nowadays the bread is not that hot, and the gato piment (chilli bites) also. Because the timming has changed. You are lucky to grab a freshly hot bread with melted butter, cheese and hot gato piment.
Oh, my friends and I ate at this place in May 2022. Cockroaches in the kitchen and very dirty plates, tables & chairs. Three out of five people got the shits. Avoid this place because it's worse than the places in Karachi.
10:00 Typically Indian - far too limited amount of sauce for all that rice, so dry dry dry, lots of drinking necessary, this slows down the eating process and when you're 50 % through the meal, it's all cold and you need to leave it behind. Shame.
Back in the early 80's Pakistan hotel was well known for drug gang retreat for drug dealers and still there is traces of the gangs there. But now it is a better place to eat.I lived about 5 minutes drive from it long time ago.Now I am in the uk.

I love these guys promoting Mauritian food
Thanks
The smoke is a traditional incense. It has 2 purposes. 1 is to perfume the place and 2 is to drive away the flies.
Ok, thanks for the info
My mum and I would drive from Pereybere in the evening just to go there to get chicken cotelette then we would go home. It’s worth the trip

Love your videos! I love the way you turned the chana Puri into a curry dumpling lol.
It's so good!
Hi Brian,
Hope you are well.
Would you remember where you shot the video with the fruit salad. I would like to visit the shop itself.

It's in Riche Fond, near the spiritual park
Thanks. I shall enquire where it’s located.
One of the most iconic institute!! It's almost opened 24/7. Great food!

I have been craving curry and rice which is crazy because I usually do not eat it. Seeing this has confirmed - I need a curry. Fun as usual.

Is there a Creole or Chinese hotel or is it all Pakistani and Indians?
China does not need a hotel... There's a whole Chinatown!

Yes, it is a great place
Alot of mauritians dont go inside because of the smokes. for me, i think the smokes kill the place
