That's why I always say that we as madrid fans should be apologetic towards bale. We made him not want to play football, imagine that.
The Spanish media obviously has a part to play in it but honestly, when a player's injured and not having good games not getting game time, fans should support him instead of slather him off. Disgusting from us. Yes bale had a questionable attitude but the way we acted towards him was even worse. I always backed him because at one point he was probably the best player in the world after ronaldo and messi. He was that good.

He played 920 minutes scoring 11 goals. 8 of his goals were against Sheffield, Palace, Brighton and Burnley who played like s**t if you actually watched the games.
In every single important/tough game (where the defenders actually defended) Bale played, he was non-existent and they lost, hence them getting there worst league finish in over 12 years. I know because I actually watched the games instead of looking up a stupid statistic with no context.
Those players you listed all either had awful seasons, are young midfielders, or had injuries that put them out for over a month.
Compare him instead to Cavani, Iheanacho, and Jota who had similar minutes and goals but played against much better teams including Europe. Willock nearly scored as many playing for Newcastle against teams like Man City, Leicester, & Liverpool.
