@@deadastrophysicist3452 he also owes the fans who pay his salary respect. Scoring 2 important CL goals + a Copa goal against Barca doesn't give him a lifetime pass. It's been made clear to him for 2 years that he has no place at Madrid but no one will pay him 600k p/w so he'd rather rot on the bench and tie up the salary cap rather than take any kind of pay cut and lose his Madrid golf club membership. No one in Madrid wants him and haven't done since 2018. Real Madrid isn't Gareth bale's retirement pension and the fans have voiced their displeasure but he doesn't care - he doesn't care about football, Real Madrid nor the fans. Gareth cares about Gareth's pay which is fine but dont pretend he's owed any respect from those same fans

I’ve been wanting do see Gareth Bale talk about golf outside of a soccer setting for the longest time. Having EAL be the interviewer makes it all the better. What a dream combo.
One more thing to add, he talks about his cool temperament and not getting frustrated. thats why he's a big game player. its another game and you go play. many people psych themselves out and get too anxious in the big game and lay an egg.

Man this was awesome. I grew up in Madrid my whole childhood all the way through college. I’m a huge Real Madrid fan, as well. I also love golf and your channel, obviously. Thank you for making my 2 favorite worlds collide, Erik! Gareth Bale is an amazing player and has scored iconic goals for Real Madrid. He has been treated unfairly many times but in my book he’s a legend. Hala Madrid!
He´s underperformed, he´s always injured and lacks the quality needed to succeed at the highest level. Simple as that, the rest is hypocrisy and victimism on his part.

That's not factually correct.some of our fanbase has been disillusioned with him and been rude to him.I won't defend that.but he has not been earnest with us too.He is our most expensive signing in history.we greatly respect his contribution in our 4 ucl wins.still when ronaldo left we expected him to pinpoint our attack.but he failed to show form which caused us to suffer.he tried to force stay and then tried to get a transfer to china.he was half-hearted in his intentions.its not all black and white.

Nice to hear a down to earth footballer like Gareth talk, rather than the materialistic arrogant players football produces now. This was a brilliant interview. I learnt more about Bale's perspective on football than I've done from any football journalists. And also made me a lil but excited to try out golf myself.

As a madridista I am so thankful for what he has done for us, he is our boy, he has won many things by his own. So no reproaches to him, he is a leader. I hope zidane put him always in the starting so he can get back at his best 🙏🏻 and the most important I hope he will never get injured again, he has injury in his head, but by giving him trust he can get back at his best. I find it really interesting that most of the comments on here are overwhelmingly positive towards GB. I suspect it is because we are golfers and understand that golf is great way to switch off and be present in something totally absorbing and addictive. Spanish footy fans give GB a tough time because they are not into golf as a culture, so they don't get it...they make the mistake of thinking that playing a lot of golf detracts from GB's ability to perform on the pitch, when it is likely to be the opposite.Some of his team mates, meanwhile, are out clubbing and driving Ferraris around and they don't get any grief. Go figure. GB comes across as a really well grounded, decent bloke who just happens to be a very talented footballer. He has always been a confidence player too, so interesting to hear him talk about how he feels when the Real fans give him the whistle. Imagine if they warmed to him and got behind him.
