It's still easier than NES Tetris where pieces attach immediately after hitting ground. Here you can rotate and move them a lot before they get attached
i feel like i play guys like him because i'll get top 10 with ease but the second that rolls around i feel like im defending until someone makes a mistake
he had a square in his hold already so when he went to move it he switched to the hold square which moved it to the right one square(since switching to a held shape drops from the top) which then allowed him to move into that spot
Basically, you create a T shaped hole that can't be hard dropped into, soft drop a T piece into that hole then, before it locks down you rotate it into place.
So why exactly is he stalling during the 4-wides when it hits instant gravity? Is he creating so much garbage for an opponent that he needs to intentionally wait to actually send more of it over?
I remember I won my first game yesterday so I was able to try out that new mode, but there weren't many people joining the lobby because.. well not as many people play the game now
Im another invictus maximizer. I've won 1 out of 70 tries now and its always a heart racing match. whenever i switch back to casual mode i never get less then third now tho. I am very happy that they segregated the competition so more people can feel like winners.
Finesse, an eagle eye, quick thinking (pairing, colors, be steps ahead), and last but not least building. With pairing I mean, certain pieces go well with each other like red Z piece and the blue J piece. They go hand in hand and are often placed next to each other. Keep builds flat. And a few other rules with building that should become a habit will also make you unkillable. Preferably lay pieces flat. And analyze where Wumbo places O pieces. Usually towards the edges or just a two place gap where it fits well.
1:52 the move I cannot "just do" 😓 why? Does any one know what the deal is with this red piece. I do fine with the green piece situation but that red piece situation is NOT CLICKING
To stall out so that when your opponent sends you garbage, you can counter it right back (with more power) and since they've used up part of their board, it becomes increasingly difficult for the opponent to counter-counter.

Nice
Tetris!
Back-To-Back!
So that’s how the top 10 looks like in this mode. Scary
Much like Tetris: the Grand Master

@@lucafredella2486 oh I thought in NES they just had a very small amount of time and not immediately?
@@xenai. like one frame
The perfect clears at the beginning were so satisfying.
Yeah, perfect clears are nice 👌👌
But that thing... It scares me.
i never seen anyone do it so fluently like wumbo, something i can't do thats for sure
Oh yes the 4 wides... very classic...
Didn't even KO the guy in first place, smh...

Wumbo: oh, they last 2 seconds longer.
There should be a third tier after this one when you get another tetris maximus.
what if you thought you were good at tetris
but wumbotize said “no”
in my opinion, this is the most perfect and flawless game of tetris anyone could play in 99. absolutely wonderful.
Everybody is gangsta until Wumbo finish the setup for the 4-wide.
That feeling when you unlock invictus.
Then get faced with Wumbo
i feel like i play guys like him because i'll get top 10 with ease but the second that rolls around i feel like im defending until someone makes a mistake
Man it sucks you cant see who you go against in the lobby... If i could see your name i quit. Lmao.
Half of the people are like this, and the other half of the people want to go against him.
@@clashofgoodly I think you have the ratios wrong. 10% wants to go against him because they are masochists.
9:07 with the square .... That's Illegal.
Now that I look at that wtf that is illegal
he had a square in his hold already so when he went to move it he switched to the hold square which moved it to the right one square(since switching to a held shape drops from the top) which then allowed him to move into that spot
Brain: Oh hey you're watching Tetris...
Brain's melted.
First time i see there's an "all clear" bonus, cool
I'm there! (#7)
Lol
Nice work!
Now you can tell your story to your grand kids of facing the great WUMBOOOOOOO
Pretty nice owo
You're amazing too!
I don't even understand how t spinning works but it's m fast enough to get in the top 7. I never knew Tetris could have so much depth.
Basically, you create a T shaped hole that can't be hard dropped into, soft drop a T piece into that hole then, before it locks down you rotate it into place.
I tried watching this at 0.25x speed... Still too fast for me
Wow !
Perfect + 4wide
nice play!!
Your 4 wides are frightening!!
Impressive being able to KO the top 10 of the masters that won a normal game of Tetris before
Video right now is at 99 views
So why exactly is he stalling during the 4-wides when it hits instant gravity? Is he creating so much garbage for an opponent that he needs to intentionally wait to actually send more of it over?
I think most of the time when he was stalling he was trying to get other people to attack him at the same time so he could get more bonus sent garbage
The most garbage you can get is 12 and staling to avoid more trash is a common strategy
Yes
I remember I won my first game yesterday so I was able to try out that new mode, but there weren't many people joining the lobby because.. well not as many people play the game now

Gianni S yea you develop memory patterns of certain blocks, kinda like having plays in a quarterback playbook
1:52 the move I cannot "just do" 😓 why? Does any one know what the deal is with this red piece. I do fine with the green piece situation but that red piece situation is NOT CLICKING
You have to rotate counterclockwise for the red piece. Start with rotating ccw, then rotate ccw again to kick it in
How did he jump the square over around the 9:10 mark?
If you spin the piece you can hover move it, but if it gets stuck that is where it rests.
@@Aazdremzul didn't hear the spin move and i didn't think that worked with squares to get over a bump
@@chuckzirkelbach5512 He didn't go over the bump, he landed on it.

Good ass Tetris.
Even the best of the best can't defeat a god
Everybody gangsta 'till Wumbo starts with 3 All Clears
Wait a minute...
ok but why he use the joycons like that doe
he's used to playing tetris on pc, so the controls are just easier backwards for him
holy shit. Invictus mode is just... Its just so much FASTER!
what's the purpose of the toggle at 8:43 or like toggling pieces in general?
To stall out so that when your opponent sends you garbage, you can counter it right back (with more power) and since they've used up part of their board, it becomes increasingly difficult for the opponent to counter-counter.

pro tip: use the garbage as a part of your 4/3/2 wides structure
