Thanks !! BTW, there is no need to re-pare/reset with Vehicle. Just change battery and use it.

Francis are you sure? I have just replaced (or tried to at least) the battery in the keyfob for my 2019 CX-9 and although I have now tried three different new batteries, they don't work on the car. The light on the fob works, but does not open the doors etc. Any clues?

Do I need to reset after key replacement, I just changed CR2025 it doesn't start with just my finger, and it doesn't show the green key, I have to use the dead battery technique still

Anyone know how to get the battery to stay in place, is it supposed to snap in? Mines doesn’t so I have to hold the key down hard for the signal to work

It should be loose but that's why the battery cover is there to hold it in place, are you sure you are using the cr2025?

I just did the same. Duracell batteries come in a blister pack with multiple layers of plastic, then put a small red circular sticker on the bottom of the battery. You have to remove the red sticker (but you don't always see it when you handle the battery !

I found my cars fobs had two different batteries in them. CR2016 and CR2032. The later would work intermittently because the battery was too big for the battery holder. It does seem a lot better with CR2025 now 😂

mine 2, mazda 2 2019, you see that when you try to start up the engine and start/stop button blinkin green and cant start engine, so dont panic its battery!

My wife's Mazda 2 is the keyless version and the battery in the fob lasts about 18- 24 months. I have just changed the battery in both fobs.

Only 3 years for me. Have an older Honda and the battery lasted for 10 years or longer. Not happy. Even the battery in my unused key lasted only 3 years as well. Strange.

@@gislijonkristjansson5547 If it's a keyless entry fob, then the battery is in use all the time as it emits a continuous signal to allow the car to be unlocked.
