    I really enjoy your method of teaching! I have been searching for a good QAYG tutorial that is no nonsense, and this is it! No hand sewing!

    I’m a novice sewer and can’t take any classes since I live in the boonies. Your videos are the only ones that really come across well to me. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for sharing your time.

    Love this technique of using left over strips, sewing and quilting all at the same time! What a time saver! (I did a strip quilt block, sewed them all together and now I still have to sandwich, quilt and bind.) I can't wait to get some more left over strips and try this method.

    Out of all the QAYG tutorials I have watched (and I’ve watched a lot) I find yours looks the easiest. Thank you Susan, you make it sound/look so easy. I’ve made one QAYG cot quilt for my granddaughter without sashing and have one ready to put together and will use your sashing joining method for this one. Thanks again 😊🤩💗

    Thank you for this video! I just got tapped for a quilt for a raffle. Someone told me about these strip, quilt as you go pieces, but I couldn't visualize it. Now it's perfectly clear. I think I can create something fun, adorable, QUICK, and inexpensive as heaven knows my "strip scraps" bin is overflowing!

    Thanks for watching. The batting I have used in the video is a synthetic lightweight batting, but any batting can be used although fairly flat batting is helpful as the fabric will sit better as you sew it.

    great tutorial!! But one question, how do you join the blocks together so hat their isn't a seam showing on the back like a rag quilt??

  • @Danielle33384
    @Danielle33384 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really want to do this because I want to quilt my quilts and I've not yet had the nerves to quilt a big one all at once. is there any differences between the way they wear or feel?

    My granddaughter wants a flannel backing. Should I prewash the flannel before cutting into squares?

  • @autumnjasmyn6104
    @autumnjasmyn6104 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    My mother made her quilts with a thick batting and then it was sewn by hand. It must have been a lot of work. Do you think that it can be done with a thick batting and then hand sewn these days? Does it take a special sewing machine foot to stitch the batting in place? I have never made a quilt, but I would like to try it.

  • @MoMaryR
    @MoMaryR 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was wondering if we need to alternate direction when sewing the strips on so that it does not distort the square? I don't have a dual-feed foot.

    Do you wash fabrics before quilting?

    • @Happybidr

      Pam Shafer I don’’t believe that she does, and I know the quilt fabric manufacturers do NOT recommend pre-washing.
