    I’ve had this mattress for a few weeks now. I saw a few other reviews mention that it is ideal for side sleepers with hip and back pain. Unfortunately, I’m not impressed with it. While it’s quite comfortable and supportive when I’m sleeping on my back, I get pressure points on my hip and I often wake up with back pain. I’m going to give it a full month before I make my final judgement. I hope the return process isn’t horrible because I’m starting to think it isn’t a good fit for me. It was definitely a mistake buying a mattress without first trying it in store.

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Not to be glib, but you honestly lost me at "other reviews"... Of course other "reviews" are going to tell you that -- they are sales pitches. They are filmed/written by people who don't know enough about this subject to provide accurate and useful insights even if they wanted to (which they don't, because as mentioned previously, they're just selling).
      As mentioned in this video, all 3 of these mattresses are on the firmer side with shallower than average cushioning. This is going to be great for back sleepers and even some some stomach sleepers, but generally suboptimal from a spinal alignment or pressure relief standpoint for average or lighter weight side sleepers, especially those whose bodies have more curves.
      I'm truly very sorry you got misled by all the bad information out there. Although I can be glib at times, I really am deeply sympathetic to this experience. The proof is that solving this problem for consumers is the whole reason that GoodBed exists, and is why we all come to work each day. Hopefully you now know where to come to get the truth.

      Try a full foam only mattress if you are a side sleeper, I was blown away at the difference. DreamCloud owns Nectar, a full foam mattress, but I tried it, and found it too firm too. In Canada, there is a couple of decent choices, Endy (testing it now, it’s great) and Douglas.

      @@gregoz6 I ended up biting the bullet and going with a Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Medium. I tried so many mattresses and I wasn't able to find another one that felt anywhere near as good to me.

    Really enjoy your thorough reviews! Helps so much , thank you!! We got a dreamcloud premiere recently and are in the process of returning it. It is absolutely uncomfortable. Our may have been a fluke as it never fully expanded, it is most expanded at the center and slopes down on the sides, it is a California King but feels like a queen bc we couldn’t sleep to far from each other or we’d fall off. We have always had Sealy, beauty rest and serta and like a firm, med-firm but this was WAY TOO FIRM! My back hurts a lot the first 2-3 hours after waking up. Just a very uncomfortable mattress. The only positive was that I could not feel my husband moving. But not worth it. We are not sure which to go with, will probably go back to what we know. We recently tried in store and liked the beauty rest hybrid and the Sealy Retford Duo Eurotop, any suggestions? Thank you!

      Hi there -- Thanks so much for your comment, and your kind words! Yes, as we noted in this video, all the mattresses in the current DreamCloud lineup are on the firmer side of the spectrum. This is very different from the options available from the brands you mentioned, which often include softer quilting, even on models that are named "Firm" or "Luxury Firm".
      I'm not familiar with the Sealy Retford, but this is most likely just because it's a store-specific model name (ie, the model "name game"). In terms of other suggestions, your best bet is to take the GoodBed Quiz, which will assess your requirements across more than 20 different criteria and can make recommendations both online and in local stores near you. If you haven't already done this, you can find that here:

    Sorry to comment jump around your videos but you mentioned the same or similar gauge of coils for the dreamcloud as the nectar hybrid and looking at the bounce and support response to your weight makes them look similar in that respect too. How would you compare the two? I think my girlfriend would like the extra top layers of the dreamcloud but I wouldn’t want to sacrifice too much firmness.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jason -- Yes, the coil units of the two felt very similar.

    Thanks, just a couple of points for your viewers, I’ve slept on the Premiere mattress for over a month. It feels firmer than I originally thought. If you like it to be firm, great, but if you are exclusively sleeping on the side, you might feel pressure building on your shoulder or hip. The Euro top, frankly, I think it’s a mistake. It looks nice and luxurious but in time those firm bulges start annoying you. I’d prefer a flat surface. Lastly, my Twin XL mattress has not fully decompressed; one side is lower than the other by a good inch. Perhaps it was stored rolled in for far too long? The part that was compressed the most, is still squished. Luckily Dreamcloud offers a replacement or refund, so, there is that. Thx.

    Can you give me the model numbers for the upgraded Dreamcloud queen premier mattress? I just received a new Dreamcloud and the edge support is the main thing I needed. As an older senior I have fallen off my old mattress a couple of times. How can I tell if the one they delivered is the upgrade? You said edge support was excellent on the upgrade. Love your videos! Thanks.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Alice! So we don't typically think in terms of model numbers. While we sometimes wish the industry was that simple, most of the numbers on mattress tags aren't useful for folks outside the factory. If your Premier model looks like the one on the website (blue side panels, a white surface, and light blue accents at the corners) then that's probably the best way to tell if it's the current model.
      Additionally, the new models came out about a year ago, so we think it's very likely you've received one of the updated ones. Hope that helps.

    For a side sleeper who has large shoulders, how does this compare with the helix midnight luxe and the bb sedonit or do you have any other recommendations

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the big difference between this and the Midnight Luxe would be found in the Midnight Luxe's zoned midsection. This zoned middle third can benefit large shouldered sleepers as the softer coils in the shoulder area allow these to sink in a bit more deeply whilst maintaining support in the midsection. The Brooklyn Sedona will be similar to the Midnight Luxe, but will likely offer just slightly more conforming support as it has a layer of microcoils AND a zoned pocket spring base.
      To recap: both the Luxe and the Sedona have a zoned pocketed coil base, but the Sedona also has microcoils in the top layer. I'd expect the Sedona to be the most conforming and easiest on wide shoulders.

    Which of the three is the softest for side sleepers?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Considering that these *just* updated again, we'd probably say the Premier Rest, though some people might find the Premier softer. I hope that's helpful.

    Which one from these three is the firmer mattress?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there -- Thanks for your question. TBH they all have quite a similar amount of softness in the scheme of things, which is to say they are all a Firm (3) on our softness spectrum. That said, we did find the Premier Rest to be the firmest and the Classic to be the softest -- just not by enough to put them in a different softness classifications. I hope that's helpful.

    Is this just me, or is anyone else bothered by the type of quilting on the cover? I'm not talking about the material or quality, but literally the indentaion depth of the stitching. I can feel this through the sheet. I'm average weight ~130lbs. I know I can get a tight top but it just limits selection.
    Lol, actually, that might be a good thing. There are too many mattrrsses to choose from. I've been researching off and on for months and still haven't decided. It's overwhelming.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jenny -- Thanks for your comment. You are certainly not alone in this preference. And yes, this is one of the reasons why smooth top (aka unquilted) mattresses exist! Just to let you know though, this is not the same as a "tight top". A tight top still has the quilting pattern on top -- it just doesn't have the extra padding of a "pillow top" or "euro top", which is why it's called a tight top. I hope that's helpful.
