    I just ordered the Euphoric firm. I had tried the Cobalt firm pillow top, which i found quite comfortable, but decided to "buy up" in hopes of increased longevity. It was quite a bit more, so I hope I made a good choice. Enjoyed the rundown of the mattresses, it can be very confusing, and store sales people made it more so. Thank you.

    What about Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite Bayou? Do you know anything about it, as I am thinking about buying one. Does it compare with these models? I am a side and back sleeper. Thank you for your information.

    Thank you for your video! I have the serta perfect sleeper excellence in medium and for some reason the middle is the softest part of the bed although I expected it to be firmer. Is this bad ?

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi Taylor -- Thanks for your question. I'm not familiar with that particular model, but one thing to note is that not all of the Perfect Sleeper mattresses on the market today have zoning, and amongst those that do, it can be very subtle. That said, AFAIK there aren't any Perfect Sleepers whose zoning pattern would be softer in the middle of the bed. So my instinct is that if your mattress is very obviously softer in the middle, that could be a defect.

    I fell in love with the iseries 2000 firm hybrid model. However the price was too much. I am debating between the dazzling nights medium or firm option hoping to get a similar comfort. What would you recommend? Thank you!

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey there! Great question. Recommending something at a distance is tricky, but in this case I'd probably lean toward the Dazzling Nights Firm. We've noticed that the Medium tends to get a bit softer as it breaks in, and if you like a slightly firmer feel, then the Firm is going to be closer to that (though we still rated this about a Medium-Firm on our scale). I hope that's helpful.

    Hello my friend! I am hoping you can provide a recommendation. I am a 275lbs combo sleeper, mainly side tho and I just ordered the cobalt calm 14in firm pillow top. I haven't received yet and could cancel and change if it's not a good option.
    Would you recommend this for me? If not, then what?
    Please help :)

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Kay -- TBH this is a tough one to answer based on the relatively limited info you provided, since there are many other factors I would want to consider before making a recommendation. So for more guidance, I'd highly recommend taking the quiz on our website, which searches across all brands and stores, and is also by far the most thorough assessment of your requirements that you can do online. You can find that here: www.goodbed.com/mattress-finder/
      All that said, overall it would seem like the Cobalt Firm PT could be an OK choice in your case. For reference, I've created a comparison between that model and some other models that we might think of based on your weight range so you can see how it stacks up across all the criteria we evaluate: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-firm-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-extra-firm&mod=titan-luxe-hybrid&mod=saatva-hd&mod=winkbed-plus
      Separately, here's a guide you may find helpful that outlines some of the unique considerations for heavier folks when choosing a mattress: www.goodbed.com/guides/best-mattress-heavy-people/
      I hope that's helpful.

    Hi Mike - another great video full of valuable information!
    We are heading for the Cobalt Calm - looks like the perfect combination of technologies for the price. A couple of questions:
    1. For a side-sleeper - what firmness / plushness do you recommend?
    2. For a stomach sleeper - what firmness / plushness do you recommend?
    Last, we seem to not talk about foundations anymore - I'm curious what type of foundation will compliment the Cobalt Calm mattress - can I reuse my 'old' Sterns & Foster box spring? I don't see too many box springs being sold anymore - usually just steel frames or wooden slat foundations. Has mattress technology changed that much that box springs are passe?
    What do you think - can I reuse my 'old' box spring of do I need to buy a different foundation for the Cobalt Calm?
    Thanks again!

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sarrie -- Thanks for your kind words! Very glad this was helpful for you.
      In terms of your question, the best way I can answer this is with our side-by-side comparison of all 5 of these models, which you can find here: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-plush-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-medium-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-firm-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-plush&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-extra-firm
      Side sleepers and stomach sleepers tend to be the trickiest combo to reconcile, since their needs are often at odds with each other. However, as you will see, the middle 3 on this comparison tend to strike the best balance for these sleepers. In addition, side sleepers will need to consider pressure relief as well, which puts the Medium Pillow Top slightly above the other two. So all else being equal, that's the one I would lean toward for you guys.
      In terms of your old box spring, assuming it is actually a "box spring" (ie, with real springs inside it), I would not use a modern mattress on that. Box springs have a lot more give and flex (not to mention bounce) than a modern foundation. These were designed for an era in which mattresses themselves were a lot thinner and had much less given and flex themselves. Thus, the mattress and box spring worked together as a unit to give you the overall comfort and support you needed. Modern mattresses are much more self-contained, and are not designed to be combined with the added flex of a box spring. So I think you'll find that if you pair your new mattress with your existing box spring, it won't feel or support you in the way it's designed to do.
      I hope that's helpful.

    I'm a 110 lb side sleeper with pretty curvy mid section and muscle issues. I need a soft surface(like on a comforter) for pressure relief but a very closely contouring support for the lumbar. I am also sensitive to trapped heat on very foamy mattresses. Can you share your thoughts on the best model here? Blue lagoon medium, cobalt calm plush or cobalt calm medium PT ??

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there -- I can do you one better. Here's a side-by-side comparison of all our assessments of those 3 mattresses:
      www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-blue-lagoon-nights-medium&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-plush&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-medium-pillow-top
      The 3 you picked are pretty close. Based on what you described above, I'd probably give the nod to the Medium PT on account of its slight advantage in pressure relief and spinal alignment for a lightweight side sleeper. But this should give you all the info to let you be the judge.
      I hope that's helpful.

    Question! How you said the cobalt calm has 14 3/4 gauge in the center third of the mattress
    Versus 15 1/2 gauge coils in the blue lagoon In the center third of the mattress.
    So no matter what firmness level you get they all have those those gauge coils…
    Example blue lagoon has 15 1/2 gauge coils whether you get plush, medium, or firm? Cause I thought “usually” mattress manufacturers use a thicker gauge coil in their mattress the firmer the bed gets.
    So if how I understood is true. they must just be using a firmer foam if they’re coils are all the same.
    And do you happen to know what gauge coils are in the rest of the mattress other than the center third of it. For the blue lagoon and the cobalt?
    Serta is terrible at giving any type of detailed information about what materials they use online.

    what about the Serta Perfect Sleeper Blue Lagoon Nights 13.5" Medium. How does it hold up over time? Should I go with a firm. I am a female, 190 pounds, 60 years old, I mostly sleep on my sides.
    Thanks.

    • @basictekkk
      @basictekkk 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      These all have 10 year warranties, I think anything Serta already has a pretty good reputation for holding up. I just bought a King Blue Lagoon Nights 13.5 medium. It's a very nice mattress (great initial quality) firmer than expected but we both came from 100% memory foam the last 10+ years. This mattress is also known as the Nurture night on discount websites and can be had close to 50% off if you shop for sales and find coupons. I paid $600 delivered from BB&B.

    We went and tried a serta blue lagoon nights in store and we loved it in plush pillow top AND medium….
    I liked it more in medium and my husband liked it more in plush pillow top. We both love pillow tops tho.
    I wish they made the lagoon in a medium pillow top. And we’d be set But they don’t.
    And unfortunately, They did not have a cobalt calm in store for us to try. But I see they have a medium pillow top available for the cobalt calm.
    With my husband being 5’11 and 230 and me being 180 and 5’7…..
    I’m thinking a plush over time will not be good for us because of coil gauge, edge support, durability, etc.
    Do you think the cobalt calm plush pillow top or medium pillow top would be better for us? Wondering because you said that the cobalt calm plush PT is more of a medium… and we’d really love something in between the blue lagoon nights plush pillow top and the blue lagoon nights medium.
    Thought I’d ask your opinion before purchasing!

    • @goodbed

      Hi there -- Here's a side-by-side comparison of all 4 of those models: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-blue-lagoon-nights-plush-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-blue-lagoon-nights-medium&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-plush-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-medium-pillow-top
      Just to clarify, we didn't say the Cobalt Calm Plush PT was more of a Medium. At 13:03 in the video, you can hear us say that the Medium PT is a Medium and the Plush PT is a Soft on our spectrum.
      Given this and everything else you've told me, my recommendation for you would lean toward the Cobalt Medium PT. This would be a good compromise in that it would provide the softness level similar to the Blue Lagoon Medium together with the deeper cushioning depth and conformance that is more similar to the Blue Lagoon Medium PT. I also after with your concern about how the Plush PT would hold up for you guys over time.
      I hope that's helpful.

      @@goodbedoppp I’m sorry I misheard.
      And yes that is helpful thank you!
      I worry about getting s-brand mattress’
      But this was actually very comfy in store. I’ve been researching mattress’ for literally over 6 months and this goes against everything we were trying to avoid 😂 We wanted to go with a smaller company, with high quality materials. But so hard to purchase a mattress online not knowing the feel. We had a winkbed luxury firm and it was like sleeping on a rock.
      I took your test awhile back and it recommended the happsy.
      I know they are hard to compare because happsy is a latex all natural with 3 layers. Base, spring, latex.
      And serta well… is just serta with tons of layers and foam.
      But comfort wise/firmness scale how would they compare? Example: serta blue nights lagoon being a 5 what would you say happsy plush would be on the firmness scale? And the happsy medium firm on the firmness scale?
      We’re looking for about a 5 nothing higher nothing lower. I love the feeling of latex too. And be cradled without sinking into the mattress. And my husband does too.

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Aphillywitdahoodie The Happsy comes in two softness levels, Medium and Plush. The Plush is about a Medium on our softness scale, which is the same as the Blue Lagoon Medium and the Cobalt Calm Medium PT.
      I added both of the Happsy models to your comparison so you can see them side by side: www.goodbed.com/compare/?mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-blue-lagoon-nights-plush-pillow-top&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-blue-lagoon-nights-medium&mod=serta-perfect-sleeper-cobalt-calm-medium-pillow-top&mod=happsy&mod=happsy-organic-plush
      I'm not sure which Happsy our quiz recommended (they used to have only one option), but based on what you are saying here, I'd lean toward the Plush if you decide to go that route.
      I hope that's helpful.

    I asked about the difference between the soft/medium/firm for a different mattress, is it the same for the Serta? Do they just use different or less foam? Ty

    • @goodbed
      @goodbed  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It's a good question to ask on every brand as different brands tend to vary their constructions in different ways. In the case of the Perfect Sleeper collection, they tend to use the same amount of foam but vary the firmness of this foam. The coil units also tend to be the same. Hope that helps!
