This discussion overlooks the unique nature of Chattel Slavery in the US. The institution of slavery in other cultures was practiced very differently and humanely. “Slaves” in African cultures were typically prisoners of war, but were still able to enjoy basic rights like marriage, social mobility, and cultural preservation. The European and Arab versions were much more insidious, brutal and destructive. For example, look how the Moors treated their subjects after they conquered the Iberian peninsula. They drastically improved the quality of life of those under their rule and had very few restrictions on their freedoms.

I wouldn’t call the Barbary slave trade humane.......are you joking? The slaves the Barbary pirates took from Europe were castrated which is why they have no ancestors in the Middle East.

Lol they do this on purpose. You’ll never get a deep dive from these people because they simply don’t care. Unless you imprison they’re family and make them go through they don’t get it

We do know what it's like to have this thought process because we do it to animals, and the fact that we miss that when talking about this subject is proof of that. The cow who shakes and cries in fear when being forced to walk into the spot where they just saw another cow die is real and their pain and terror is relevant. The mother cow who grieves the loss of their calf is experiencing real grief. And this is a part of our daily lives. If we treated humans like we treated animals, the human "race" would be extinct in 17 days.

We used to wipe out entire civilizations. We would raid and kill everyone in the village. Everyone has some connection to this behavior from our ancestors. As we grew we became smarter. Doesn’t mean we don’t possess the same types of behaviors our ancestors did. We were just smart enough to say…hey we can make money or make these guys do all the hard labor and everything we don’t want to do….we don’t have to kill them….THEN YEARS LATER da da daaaa as we get smarter and more advanced we realize this type of behavior is wrong…so we stop doing it and make rules against it….that’s called progress. People in 100 years will look back at us and call us barbaric

In 100 years, we will be seen as barbaric for the ways that we treat drug users.
We incarcerate drug users, exploit them, and corrupt individuals in government use these draw laws to profit and exploit others

You can break it down from the ego.
For example, one can identify with life itself, i. e. with all plants and animals.
Or only as a human being and then animals and plants are already slaves, or down to the tribe, the family, or oneself, and at the very bottom, when the ego is minimal and can no longer identify with other living beings, everything and everyone is just a slave.

All flavours have been enslaved throughout history. God doesn’t discriminate

    • @sirjerearchive1342
      @sirjerearchive1342 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Then why are colored people treated as the worst prejudice in the American south? Not black people but foreigners. Humans discriminate, GOD just observes what we choose to do. GOD didn’t come down and enslave anyone, humans did that to each other. GOD didn’t come down and enact the holocaust, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s did. All the evil in the world has been done by the hands of human beings, if GOD exists and is real, bro just watches what his creations do and we will never know what his response to our actions will be.

to try and equate power with morality is a mismatch. If you're in a hole, you want to get out of it. How bad dictates how moral you want to be

    2 Possibilities:
“What can ppl think they can do when god isn’t watching”
“What they can think they can do when god allows it”
What if they don’t believe in god?

@Kareen Curry That’s just vanity. Some people don’t give a shit about anything but themselves, so to say treat others how you want to be treated is moot. Some people want to be treated like shit and others want people to bend the world around them. GOD exists or it doesn’t, look at nature and determine for yourself if something gives order to wild animals. It’s your belief, it doesn’t mean it’s a fact.

I think that falls into the category god isn't watching. Since if there isn't a god or there are gods who are partisan it has the same effect if god isn't watching.
