I hope Pine64 makes a kindle style device since they'll be working with e-ink displays. Also would be cool if they could do an e-ink smartwatch. I pre-ordered the Mobian PinePhone 3GB and can't wait to get my hands on it! I'm very excited for the new back case for wireless charging and the finger print reader. So many amazing products coming from Pine64, when I first started using Linux over 7 years ago I never thought I would see this kind of growth.
I really like seeing how pizza loving nerd channel has grown :) and it's really cool to see him here, kinda builds a even closer relationship with the community
Also worth noting, SMS is functional on Mobian but MMS is NOT so be aware. I had to stop using it because I am frequently in group chats and none of those ever get received or delivered because Phosh/Mobian doesn't know how to handle MMS.
If I'd have had a clearer mind I probably would have waited and ordered the Mobian one just because the logo looks the best and it's not like these have been exactly usable since June when I got mine.
Really wish I had held out until the Mobian edition was coming around but I can always just flash my current PinePhone. Loving the updates! Also, the new site looks very "modern". Really good stuff! Glad to see the progress the community can offer!
I am really happy with Mobian as a Community edition. Even though I rarely make videos about it, it is just solid. If I weren't such a Arch-head and would not see the need to test tons of software for linmobapps.frama.io, I would totally use Mobian. It's just solid!
There are probably more folk than you realize... just waiting for the PinePhone to become stable as an everyday device. Hoping that'll be before the end of this year.
Who knows if pinebook pro is suitable for programming and what languages are available on the ARM platform? P. S. Sorry for my English. I am from Russia.
It probably depends how intensive your programming is. I know I use a super old laptop with bad specs and I've never had an issue with it aside from Machine Learning and large data stuff. But you can also just get a Raspberry Pi and run it on there remotely to free up your computer.
Mobian is pretty mature, as far as the other OSs go, and it can make calls, but the call quality is terrible. And I mean, terrible. It sounds like you're on a call with someone strapped to a biplane wing doing aerial acrobatics. You'll get the gist of what they are saying, but neither of you will see any point of staying on the call longer than absolutely necessary.
If pinephone is ever going to take off now would be the time to do it.
It will if we spread the word to people who no longer trust apple/google.
@@UnobtainableSilence e.foundation is helping out too.
The Pinephone simply isn't intended to take off. Right now it's only meant for developers and enthusiasts.
Pine64 just released a one hour plus chat between Ezra and Peter. Very interesting discussion. They spoke about their personal histories with Linux.

I was hoping Mobian would be the next community edition! Fantastic news!
Looks like a bright future is coming for us.
It's awesome to know that the PinePhone project has been this far. Congrats to Mobian for making your own way to the last community edition device!
Love it!

Wow, replacing the modem OS is exciting. Has there been any success making calls with that?
A device like the surface Duo is what I crave for
In Linux. Exactly

Good job bro!

I need a dictionary with all your terminology. You sometimes sound like the CIA or KGB. Anyhow, thanks!
