I started back testing this exact strategy with ES. Skipped extra large candles and skipped several news days (CPI, Fed talks, etc). Never been profitable. 32% win rate. Down about $6300. I’ve back tested from Jan 1st 2023 until June 13th 2023. Will finish the year and start doing pairs next. Really disappointed.
I tested this for 6 months: - January - June 2023 EUR/USD - Total trades: 99 - 1 trade per day based on the first imbalance (win or loss) - Didn't use fib since the hit and win rates weren't convincing with it Results: - Max Drawdown: -11.59% (in 24 days) - Peak equity: +0.35% - Final Result: -9.44% - Win rate: +34.69% - Max loss streak: 9 - Max win streak: 4 Results per month: - January: -7.58% - February: +2.87% - March: +3.44% - April: +0.66% - May: -0.92% - June: -7.67% This also doesn't account for slippage.. which would probably be a major effect due to small stop losses on average. This isn't the one Garland.. unfortunately.
Its a interest results, i think its very important to have a bias on HTF for have a more confluence and this increase the win rate. This strategys based in LTF its very dificult to a long term.
What I have seen and tested with the silver bullet is if there is a trend never trade against it. But if the trend is hitting a HT PD array then you could use the silver bullet to get an entry. Other wise what usually happens is it stops you out and continues the trend if the trend doesn"t reverse.
Just backtested this from October 2022 until middle of February 2023 in forex replay and i got 33% winrate 21 winners and 41 losers about minus 6 percent in the accout i think i did it according to the rules but i will continue and hope you can choose random month in 2022 and do video backtest this strategy i really want a mechanic strategy that i can trust to pass and manage fund accout

I've found that aiming for a target ratio of (1:2.2), even with a lower win rate, is more advantageous. Have you experimented with a (1:2.2) ratio? My backtesting results for it are quite promising. Once commissions and spreads are accounted for, a (1:1.6) ratio effectively reduces to (1:1.4). Yet, with a (1:2.2) target, we still achieve a clean (1:2) ratio and maintain a win rate above 60%. For a (1:2) ratio, the breakeven win rate is about 34%, which is notably more favorable than the 42% required for (1:1.4). I'd love to hear your perspective on this. Thank you!
Yeah you're right but I backtested it too. Price often flips around (1:1.8). There's a high chance of it hitting 1.6. I'm trading this since last week. Risking 1.5%. gives a better reward over the long term

Interesting. So what I can conclude from your statement is aiming for a 1.6RR has a higher win rate but a 2.2RR is still notably worthy as it still maintains a win rate of at least 60%. If you don't mind can you share with us the journal? Would appreciate the transparency a lot and would save us a lot of time to backtest this strategy ourselves.

Thanks Garland for this amazing variation of silver bullet Why don’t you use it on London silver bullet sessions and do you tested others pairs ?🙏🙏 thanks again this is a game changer for me
Pretty solid strategy, it worked 8/10 times for me. The issue was when I entered for a sell and it completely took me out on Gold. This happened last week Thursday. Check out the market and see what I mean. But overall an 80% win rate is solid to me. Worth the watch.
Just wanna say your the first ict video ive seen not this like the other one and ever since then I shifted to ict and now deep in it..and it's changed my trading life totally
Awesome strategy. I've tested it on 30 trades (Sep 10th - Oct 30th) on EURUSD and so far the best result is 1.4R (73% win rate) with an average monthly return of 25% (risking 2%) and a tiny biggest drawdown of 1R (meaning I didn't experience even two consecutive losses). Thanks a lot, Ethan, I will definitely add this pattern to my arsenal.
If you did not change any of the strategies parameters there is no way you didn't encounter multiple losses in a row. October started of quite good but ended up being around a 3% month. The first nine days, like in the video, were by far the best. I'm curious how you managed to dodge the losing streaks at 24-25-26 October and 18-17-13-12 October.
Wow.... another different variation of ICT silver bullet. However, I can feel your anxiety with the last trade whether you want to take or not. But it's amazing, man. I'm camping for more of this ICT SB strategy.
Hi Garland, Thank you for sharing your strategy. I backtested almost this whole year your strategy, I got a 44% win rate, can we develope this strategy with more confluences in your channel?, or a higher RR?, I got a recommended RR of 7, but idk If we can do something about it, this strategy could be a life changer.
Hey Ethan, thank you very much for another great video. Really like this strategy and I’m backtesting it as we speak, so far getting pretty promising results. Only thing I wanted to say, and this comes from a genuine fan of the channel, but that I do think that putting the 70 percent win rate in the title is slightly disingenuous, I completely appreciate that you want to get attention to your videos, grow your channel etc, but I think it’s not right to be quoting such high win rates when in reality that’s only based on a very small sample size. Ultimately if the strategy works it doesn’t even need that high a win rate to be profitable anyway! I
Agree with this comment. When introducing a new strategy, the sample size needs to be greater than just a month. At least 12 months worth of back testing ideally more to understand if this strategy works through various seasonal tendencies. I've just started my own back testing of this strategy and completed Feb '23 and March '23 so far and while it is slightly profitable, the win rate is much lower at 40%. I'll continue to back test for the whole year and hope to report my findings.
It's advertising for FxReplay, nothing else. If he said "go spend 40 hours backtesting this over the duration of a full year, find the reason why the losers lose, eliminate those reasons, then see if the winners still win, that will get you to a 61% win rate, but only once per week on average", you would have not watched the video.
Very good video Garland. Thank you for sharing this. But I have some question for you. If you can please answer. Questions: 1. Does it work on NAS, GU and other pairs? 2. Does it work in london and pm sessions Silver Bullet? 3. Why you choose 1 to 1.6 risk reward? I think minimum risk reward better for us it 1 to 2. Thank you bro.
Thanks mate. No I haven't tested those pairs yet. Feel free to try though 1.6 was best for me with this pair in my testing but you're welcome to test yourself and see what works better
My guess is he just cherry picked some good trades in a row that happen to be 1.6 rr so he can say it has a "75% winrate". With a mechanical strategy like this there is no way it has a consistent 75% winrate over a year. I am backtesting this strategy at the moment and after 2 months still negative. Tested April and may 2023 so far and the results were not good with under 40% winrate. I guess not trading after 10 o clock news would bring the winrate up a bit. Still nowhere near 75%.
@@garland.trader noo ofc not. With a mechanical strategy like this one a 75% winrate seems very unrealistic. As I said I only backtested 2 months so far but was always in drawdown. Of course it can be my fault but with these 2 months alone a 75% winrate wouldnt be possible over a year.

Great stratagy. My question is - I seem to have a better close ratio if I don't wait for price to come back to either the high or low that was broken. If I take the trade the same direction as the first FV after it breaks the high or low, I seem to have a better win ration. Is this something you have tested? Will I end up lossing in the long run becuase of retesting low or high? I have a a great win rate using the way you teach but I have lost three in a row and seeing if not waiting for the retest is something you would recommend. Thanks
Thank You Garland for this. I noticed something, have you tried the previous 15 min candle as liquidity pool before the Silver Bullet? Just Picking your brain.
Hi mate thanks for the video. Just a quick question, do you only use this on forex pairs or does it work with nasdaq? Im mainly talking about the 1hr candle stick high/low.
Thank you. Great reply. Ppl, this gentleman has taken the time to show us the strategy - instead of asking does it work on this pair, this index, etc - just do the work and find out. Open up the charts, dig in and find out…
Great work Garland! will definitely do my due diligence of testing this for at least 3 months and one question I have for you is the part of analytics that says " IDEAL AVERAGE of 3.98, is it suggesting that our RR could go to 1:3.98? Please elaborate on that . Thanks!!
I watched the video this morning early. Tested it on fx replay. 104 entries 52 losses 50 wins. 50% win ratio. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. But what are your thoughts on 50% win ratio from feb 2021 to july 2021. That is the timeline this far.
How simple is it ? trading can be so complex sometimes. I just need to backtest it on gold for 2023. thank you. I already use your 1m strategy that I have backtested. thank you again, a really nice job
On trade view the 9am candle is the candle that’s starts at 9am and ends and 10am the 9am candle on TradeStation starts at 8am and closes at 9am, which 9am candle are you using in this strategy?
I trade gold, i backtested and results are good i get 9 trades 6 out of them worked and 3 losses while using 1:2 rr bcs is my of my rules to get atleast 1:2 rr . and i will recommend u very important thing, dont trade against the trend. one of my teachers say to me when iwas beginner he say always trade whith the trend.
Are you using this exact strategy on prop firm ? Let’s say .5 % per trade it would give you 20 lost allowance right . !? Considering 10 % lost allowed in total it could work ? These are super easy trading rule to fallow . I’m gonna check this out ! Thx
This doesnt work always. If there is an MSS within thhe Silver Bullet Time take the order with 1:2 RR.. Dont take order just to target 9Am H high and low.
I don't understand why you did not draw your fib to the top of the wick @ 13:10. You started from the bottom of the wick on the 1st candle of the upward run......??? Had you went to the top of the wick, it most likely would've tagged you in and hit TP.
Hi, how can you say that the strategy is profitable based on 1 month? That seems like a bit unprofessional approach... + backtesting in tradingview seems like a waste of time as it does not simulate slippage and spread, two major factors in trading as well....
Hey! I’m just wondering I’ve been backtesting this but for the past week on Eu it hasn’t really played out… am I maybe doing something wrong? It has been going on the opposite direction this whole week and last week

Hi mate thanks for the video. Just a quick question, do you only use this on forex pairs or does it work with nasdaq? Im mainly talking about the 1hr candle stick high/low.
Only used it on forex currently. But test the data and let me know!
Thank you. Great reply.
Ppl, this gentleman has taken the time to show us the strategy - instead of asking does it work on this pair, this index, etc - just do the work and find out. Open up the charts, dig in and find out…
With day light saving in place do you also switch timing of your model?
Great work ethan thank you so much for this content!🎉🙌 keep the great work up 🔥
My pleasure!
Great work Garland! will definitely do my due diligence of testing this for at least 3 months and one question I have for you is the part of analytics that says " IDEAL AVERAGE of 3.98, is it suggesting that our RR could go to 1:3.98? Please elaborate on that . Thanks!!
Over this data yes. But this is only like 10 trades - long term in my testing 1.6 is best
@@garland.trader thanks so much!
I did backtesting of January 2024 and february 2024, Did 75% WR, lets do it a little bit longer, Its working for the moment
Thanks for the video, if you wanted to trade this in London, which hour candle would you use to base your liquidity lines off 1am NY time? Thank you.
I did backtesting on NAS100 of January 2024 and february Did 75% WR, lets do it a little bit longer, Its working for the moment.
so when do you decide which strategies to use and strategies where you look for 2 to 1 or more profit to loss?
When I have collected enough data on the strategy. In fact FX replay tells what the optimal RR is
when you mark the previous hour do you include wicks or just body ?
Wicks, highest and lowest part of it
I watched the video this morning early.
When you saw 9 am candle, is that NY time? Thanks.
me writing my resignation letter while backtesting this strategy 😅
Bro, I really appreciate your work. You really help me on my trading journey ❤
I appreciate the love man!
Can you tell what is ideal RR that you showed here? Does it mean we should have been taking 1:3.9 RR per trade?
Could you please tell me what is the best time to use this strategy on the London Session? New York session at 10am is for me 2am in the morning.
in daylight saving should we consider 1hr ahead or same time 10am to 11am??
On trade view the 9am candle is the candle that’s starts at 9am and ends and 10am the 9am candle on TradeStation starts at 8am and closes at 9am, which 9am candle are you using in this strategy?
Are your settings set to New York?Your Tradestation might be on Central
Thx
Currently using a higher timeframe strategy because I'm very busy, not because there's anything wrong with this at all. I will be dropping this soon.
I wonder how this strat plays out over 1 year? I love the simplicity. You can make it better adding confluences like divergence or PO3 daily bias.
Daily bias won’t really make a difference tho coz it’s a really small move, I could be wrong tho, if your going for higher rr then definitely
Love this video, extremely interesting to see how you back test ... Please do the same with ICT Unicorn 🙂
How about the previous daily & weekly high and low? Dont we need to take that into account?
How many days/trades did you back test
I will do a video showing the backrest results in the next few days
@@garland.trader nice one. If to use it on the London session would you use the 7am (gmt) candle
Super easy and clear strategy, cheers Man
Glad you liked it!
Even ICT himself, can't win that high with his strategies. Just no.
If you mix with snd, this is fire bro.
timing in winter day light saving ?
Hi thanks for the video
if the FVG doesn't break structure do you still use it? is that what you meant by we don't wait for change of character
Yes that is what he meant
@@orefiledhlamini thank you
Nice but what time zone am I using for the 9am candle. I see your on utc4 but USA is utc5. Please help Thank you
Daylight savings time is in effect now, recently so it is now utc-5 yes
Honest question, no hate or trolling. Is this just for content? I mean how many times have you done a video on the Silver bullet?
One of your best strategy by far ❤
Can you give us a strategy that basic trading view users can put to work with only two indicators ?
Thank you mate!
You're welcome!
Can this stratergy work for the london session?
BRO THIS IS FIRE
Thank you for the kind words! 💪
I thought a FVG was the gap from the 1st candle wick to the 3rd candle wick.
Not from candle body to candle wick
Wick to wick. In the absence of a wick, you use the body. It's the high. And the low that matters.
🤔🤔something's not right here, when FVG will appear, you set st&tp in a place where one candle is already ahead, so it's not 1:6 RRR..massive mistake
Thanks Garland
Any time!
bro, may i ask why you entered trade only on specific day in October ? (screen at 25:08 marker)
This doesnt work always. If there is an MSS within thhe Silver Bullet Time take the order with 1:2 RR.. Dont take order just to target 9Am H high and low.
Nice job bro
Thanks so much man
as usual excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
sorry but is this the RSA 9-10 candle that we use to mark up?thx@@garland.trader
What broker should I select with blue guardian?
I use 8cap
Can you trade indices and other pairs with this strategy ?
not tested them yet - try it out
hi, this work on the London session?
Backtested this strategy, complete poop
Do you have a video for futures?
Another silver bullet video? What’s the difference with your other silver bullet video?
I don't understand why you did not draw your fib to the top of the wick @ 13:10. You started from the bottom of the wick on the 1st candle of the upward run......??? Had you went to the top of the wick, it most likely would've tagged you in and hit TP.
Bro, no hate. but this strategy is no where near 75%
Is an FVG not a 3 candle move?
how come that all of the sudden you are not using 2:1? bcs the very first trade would be loss for sure at least
Try it with 1:2 then man 👍
Hi, how can you say that the strategy is profitable based on 1 month? That seems like a bit unprofessional approach... + backtesting in tradingview seems like a waste of time as it does not simulate slippage and spread, two major factors in trading as well....
how many pair can i trade with this strategy
Hey! I’m just wondering I’ve been backtesting this but for the past week on Eu it hasn’t really played out… am I maybe doing something wrong? It has been going on the opposite direction this whole week and last week
I've noticed that too, not just the eu but nas100 too ,things aren't going well that's why I came here to check if I'm doing anything wrong lol
@@BatmanSwiss this strategy doesn’t work
@@AnsaafmmxmZA yep I came to that conclusion just now ,I'm going to stick with ict 2022 setup which works perfectly well
@@BatmanSwiss 2023 is also good check it out
As far as I know all strategies that people call more than 50% winrate is just a wasting time. Well If it really is more then 50% why you still working on youtube because its the only source of your income
