Well said. I'm 46 and a new player as 3 of my kids play, so I'm learning to play so I can play with them. I've been to the 'Legacy of the Valiant' Sneak peek and play in the hobby league with my kids a lot. There are a few yugitubers as you put it that I enjoy watching and listening to. Though, being a new player, a lot of what they say is over my head in that I don't know about a lot of cards or strategies when playing. Some also speak really quickly and I miss things. I sympathise a bit as I'm an I.T. person and sometimes make assumptions on what people know (or should know) about computers and the internet by now, but you know what 'assume' does. I would love to see more experienced players break things down a bit more for new players of all ages. But I won't grind someone about it either as I have learned a lot. I don't mind deck openings, I get the excitement factor. I enjoy a lot of deck profile vids as it helps me understand different things, and some posters will even put a link to their deck for DevPro/YGOPro which is really cool. I also really enjoy narrated gameplay vids the most as I learn a bit of strategy and what works under what conditions and I see how others play. I am 'samuraiheart' on DevPro/YGOPro. One of these days I may do a vid myself.
agree with everything you said, like my nan used to say 'if everyone in the world had yellow as there favourite colour the world would be a boring place. I personally wish there was a yugichannel that could bring back my love for the game. And since hopefully you are coming back to yugitubing id just hope you carry on doing the timelapsed alt arts cuz I might not play the game but I still love a good art piece
Damn its been so long since I played or even seen anything going on with yugioh. The last time I was competitive was when the Envoy cards were popular (the chaos dragon and the Knight) I was in regionals in Colorado, I didn't have any of the envoys so I created my own version which was chaos sorcerer with berzerk gorilla beat down haha. Every person there made fun of me for not having an envoy. I got 1st place beating 4 envoy decks in a row and got my invite to nationals at Ohio back in 2006 I believe haha. then I heard few friends who were still playing say once the envoy cards got banned my deck was copied and chaos sorcerer picked up popularity and was the "meta" for a while but by then I was already done with yugioh. Good to see its still going!
First few seconds had me thinking of the "Get Yourself a Dragonite Skit" part when the narrator says" So Fffing Quite...Screaming!!!" And yes I can hear a" Oh Baby" everytime he was mentioned. More to the point I due believe that everyone way is unique and regardless of the criticism at least we have something to talk about, now it's just the time to deal and pick through the unwanted or not as much wanted of shenanigans.
This is why I really like you. You tell it like it is. I go to a local tournament every Thursday. We have above average players and a small handful of national level players there. And a shit ton of little kids or noobs that come in with a half assed alien or morphotronic deck. But see, if you're playing with a deck you love, even if I don't like it, even if I think it's dumb EVEN IF, It's obviously unbalanced. If that person is having fun, we have no right to criticize. In fact, shouldn't it be the more skilled duelists job, to teach and guide the weaker players? Encourage them to want to play better. And by encourage, I don't mean "play e-dragons and mermails or you suck" I mean actually encourage to do great things with a deck they like, or show them how to play other decks without being an asshole. I mean for shits sake the anime and manga ((whom without, this game wouldn't even be a thing)) preaches out it's ass about morals of friendship, love, courage, teamwork and compassion can't we as duelists take from that even a little bit? Why do people, in life and in this game have to be so wrapped up in taking others down a notch so they can be on top? I mean I can be a cheap ass sometimes when I'm winning too, I'm guilty. But if I see a guy with an unbalanced deck and he's loosing, what I do is fix it so he can win with his favorite deck. Duelists should be able to play with their favorite deck. YES some decks are made for competitive play and some are meant to be played in a controlled fun environment. And sometimes I think people forget that not everyone plays competitively. Sorry Amanda, super long rant. I love this game, and I love hearing a professional duelists, such as yourself give her input.
Yea, I used to cosplay him back in the day. That picture was taken when I was 18. I'm 22 now. ((turning 23 in16 days)) But then I got old, and fat. It doesn't fit anymore, but I still got the hat.
I'm a creative gamer and I highly support all game ideas :) and yes I love helping people have fun with the game I grew up playing :3 very great point Amanda I actually don't see this often in my shops but it's something that does happen so yeah I will look out for people like that so i can make them stop basically making people feel like they've done something wrong when they are really just trying to have fun.
aaaaHAHAHAHA Its so nice to see you back more often on yer own channel, idk, to me yer a little bit more expressive in it compared to when yer on Core TCG but i digress, your videos are good regardless. I do agree that "those people" in the community do tend to go WAY overboard, word Amanda!
Yugitube will never be a better place. I just got kicked out of three different groups simply because they are salty that I managed to prove to them that I'm not a scrub.
Thank you for leaving up your yugioh vids. I'm subbed to your other channel, ohnips, and I forgot all about this one and thought you took videos like this down. I don't play anymore, but videos like this take me back.
Now, im just saying, you threw me for a loop with A: Video title. and B: The Japanese sounding ass voice. none the less you damn right and um SHADDOLS FOREVER! >.>
I agree with 99% of this. However, I reject when people say this is a children's card game. Read Konami's article on Problem Solving Card Text, and then try and tell me that it's a children's card game. This WAS a children's card game, but the game has evolved since we were little, and it has (for the most part) aged with us.
People should yugi-tube what they are comfortable and happy with. They shouldn't try to be exactly like someone else. Just be yourself and don't let others dictate what yugi-tubing should be to you. Thank you for this video Amanda. :)
Well said Emma and it's unfortunate that they're still some duelists out there that has no respect for duelists who do things that the majority of duelists don't do' for example' i made a video response where i have on my Duel Disk doing an Attack role play skit and someone in the comments gave a sad face like symbol but i deleted that person's comments. Also someone gave me a bad comment in my Kaiba's Dark Path deck profile video just because my Kaiba's Dark Path deck is not a Meta deck.
Preach! And I only thought the same. @everyone ya'll just make a vid make a channel or grow one you currently do have and use get a following make that vid about why YOU enjoy yugioh and make it hype like we love it. Be anime, tcg, ocg, a mixture, etc. Let's get this community pumping.
That opening was the best ever. "Just fucking kidding." But on a serious note you make very valid points. There's a lot of genres to Yugitubing and there's something out there for everybody. I hate people that waste their time complaining about what they don't like rather than spend more time with what they DO. LOL at the dildo part though.
Amanda's right. We should take up knitting...and make videos about that. And then there will be pojo forums about why YourKnittingChannel can't knit a hat.
if i played yugioh online, we'd have to be friends. i love you in the friendliest way possible. thank you for spreading wisdom it does seem this community is lacking.
This is awesome. Im a little late but finally some address this subject and bravo. You (in my opinion) are one of the few real yugioh duelist left. I would to sit and chat with you one day. Maybe play a couple matches? Hit me up if you're ever in Los Angeles CA P.s keep up the good work.
I remember playing this game before the yugioh anime came to america, and then... those silver and black cards came out and changed the game and I quit playing.
This game stopped being a children's card game a very long time ago. Some kids still play this game, but compared to the adults(termed vaguely), it's no longer like how it was years ago. The yugioh TV show isn't made, or even on air at the times the original was to attract its viewership. Oh and as for the community, it's shit. Been shit for a long time and if you or any group think they are going to come and have everyone hold hands, then your Wasting more time than learning those words at the start of this video. More like a bunch of high school kiddie clicks that want to be cool, the best, the smartest, etc. that joke is our community, and if I didn't like the hell outta this game, I would be around myself.
Like she said in the video, the game has evolved to become very complex from a competitive standpoint, but the game is intended to be played by little kids lol. The show caters to them, not you, and Konami couldn't give a rat's ass about the older generation because then the show would cater to the older generation. The company keeps introducing cards that hit faster and stronger that way you are forced to spend maney on newer cards; anyone who thinks that konami has any other objective for the older demographic was never taken a marketing course. I know it looks like the majority of yugioh players are grown adults, but that's because that's what you see at card stores and card shops, not places like toysrus where at christmas I saw kids swallow up yugioh cards faster then candy on Halloween. It's a children's card game that is played by adults, and not an adults card game that is played by children.
adri Bam dislike the idea the game is intended for kids, its not. Main reason is the rules are complex, if they really wanted to target kids, its would be brain dead easy to understand and play. Konami knows this, they target kids cause it increases their potential profits. if they only targeted teen-18+ they cut out the kids market. Also suggested age limit is a Gimmick to pull Parents Funds out their wallets, its a guide to say your "kid" can have this. Also is based on fact like the product isn't harmful. The Tv shows are marketed directly at TV companies/kids channels to draw in kids "please buy me it" impulse. not to mention the idiocy the west has for censoring meaningless things.
Honestly trolls are just people with no lives outside of just harassing people that aren't them.Honestly people should just let people do what they choose.I myself like to be a vexxy in training type.Though I'm always going on about the negatives of the game.
im loving the direction in which youtube is starting to turn thank to people like you who make extremely valid points. I quit playing yugioh cause of all the bashing i would get just because i liked playing rainbow dragon every duel sigh.. good times

In Japan, the game is rated and marketed as 13+ - which, coincidentally, is also the 'age of consent' in Japan.
The only one who is doing "Yugitubing" wrong is TradingCardGirls...
dontsearchitdontsearchitdontsearchitdontsearchit
The wrong way to yugitube is not upolading.
+xXxAlmightyForcexXx You sound like a modern day Romeo, huh?
"Just fucking Kidding" was the best art of this vid ahahaha.
omfg it's been so long!!!! welcome back!!! awesome video :) !
those eyes tho
Loved your Jinx cosplay and acting, damn all your work is incredible!
I died at the intro.
Then how did you post that comment?
But ur still alive tho.....
Pervert learn respect!
I miss these kind of videos from you. Rants/Discussion and ruling/game mechanics is what interested me in your channel.

you sound that up so well I can't even think of what to say except beautiful
99% of TH-cam drama can be fixed by doing this
simplyunlucky is the only card opening I would watch.
Yo, New Yugituber here and I got to say I love the message. Will be Sharing!

I salute you Amanda-San! This is exactly what the Yugitube needs to be doing!!
i like your videos even though im alot more of a magic fan then yugiho. havent played that game since i was like 6 lol...your jinx video is cool
and i admire your love for this game
I enjoy listening to robbie kohl breathe deeply in every video he makes.
I was hoping she'd be like "Cool, and now to end this off I'm going read out my current decklist in my bra."
And then just cut the video.
This is why I really like you. You tell it like it is. I go to a local tournament every Thursday. We have above average players and a small handful of national level players there. Or at least his hat?

I died laughing watching this video, but then I "Call of the Haunted" myself back.
Debating Deck Jockey it would be a shame if someone had an MST...
Wow its been 1 million years
I wonder why yugioh players these days have so much hate. I remember when I started playing there was so much love.
Your art is so sick,I love it
Came here from Azneyes, really cool video. Nice work.
Her yugitube return was very short-lived.
This sums up everyone that plays Yu-Gi-Oh.
LOL that intro tho! Awesome videos ^.^ We should collab some time if you want ^.^ keep up the awesomeness!

Thank youuuuuuu there was a video needing to be made to hav talk bout this subject in yugioh :3
cant tell if making good points or if im distracted by her being absolutely gorgeous....

Lol pretty girls who think with logic and reason are rare and amazing.
People in general who think with logic and reason are rare and amazing.
Dang,I thought I clicked on a naughty video when I saw that intro til I recognized it was you...totally caught me off guard. Awesome vid btw.
Yugitube will never be a better place. I just got kicked out of three different groups simply because they are salty that I managed to prove to them that I'm not a scrub.
"Take up knitting or something"
i have over 1000 deck profiles without explaination, just music.. LOL.. i felt validated :)

Burning cards is the funniest thing behind the card shop in the parking lot
Oh my God, DDG. This is why I love you! Because you are so fucking real and accurate!
She is so beautiful.

This is a children's card game... Just so happens many virgin adult children happen to play it.
People should yugi-tube what they are comfortable and happy with. They shouldn't try to be exactly like someone else. Just be yourself and don't let others dictate what yugi-tubing should be to you.

Good point. I'm gonna go watch Azneyes now 'cause he doesn't give me marriage thoughts.
I just found your channel through your video about missing timing and you're fucking great. PRAISE THE BASED GOD!
That face she made at the end of the video scared the hell out of me so I'm just gonna do what she says.
10 years later and this video still is good 👍

*some kids still play this game FALSE xd
+Chubby Cheese Cakes I can't take the time to read all this because it's not in paragraphs.
DJ Winners Nice necro bro cool story
This is why Amanda Lapalme is the only yugituber I'm still subscribed too.
I quit playing yugioh cause of all the bashing i would get just because i liked playing rainbow dragon every duel sigh.. good times
AMANDA COME BACK WE LOVE YOU
While I agree with you, the problem most people have on dg is that there is very little constructive information in the yugitube genre. There's not much out there, at least among popular yugitubers, that brings good insight or ideas to the table, which prevents the community as a whole from getting better.
Ddg is like a cool older sister
Very awesome video way to open some eyes hopefully definitely opened mine
It still amazes me how Amanda is still one of the only Yugitubers after all these years who completely understands and speaks the reality and truth of Yugioh. #AmandaForever
That was a nice Tradingcardgirls burn. :p
this channel is so underrated . you should get more views
well I better go make a friendship deck for next time I go to locals.
"Take up knitting."
you know, this is totally, not involving this video, but have you considered taking a blue eyes maiden, and putting yourself in it?

To what your saying on the explaining every card thing. I think its funny when people explain like dark hole. " I use this to wipe the field" ... No really?
Amanda LaPalme Great Video! I like your videos because you speak the truth. There are too many people on TH-cam thinking that their opinions are fact when they are simply opinions.
Silly people... There is no right or wrong way to yugitube...just do what you do and fuck the haters.
So true
I love you dude. thanks
i think mary par creates +5000 GF aggro when shes mad. i feel ya steve.
I look at it this way, when cards initially broke the $20-$50 marks value/cost-wise... yugioh stopped being a childrens card game...just sayin...lol
I completely agree with this. I don't really care about yugioh binder videos but I don't make a big deal about it. I merely don't watch those videos and move on to other videos I do like. Thumbs up on this video.
Great video! Love to see a little common sense out there.
Everything she talked about is common sense yet people still don't understand.
and this is why we love your videos
I like that ur truthful and funny. That's hard to find lol
Take up knitting!.... Epic... just.... Epic. Earned a sub JUST FOR THAT! Great Job Amanda, keep it up :)
