Honestly this was the movie that made me pursue animation as a career and I will forever love it ♥What's amazing is that when I was studying animation I found out one of my teachers was a background artist on this movie.
This makes me feel so nostalgic. Such a shame that animated movies aren't at this level anymore. The art is just gone. And honestly, having dads and their dad jokes create this movie and others of this era is where the magic was. Don't @ me.
Thanks man for the awesome commentary. It was really neat hearing the directors point out details I missed and give me new info on deleted stuff that was cut for time. Some parts almost remind of the deleted versions of Lion King. Particularly the Bells Of Notre Dame commentary in which their was supposed to be a crap ton of dialogue as opposed to a music sequence (Similar to earlier versions of Circle Of Life). Also. Speaking of Calvin And Hobbes at 51:54. Like I know The Creator Bill Watterson has said time after time he will not let any big name Hollywood people adapt his comic strip. I still want to know as to what a 2D Disney Renaissance Adaptation Of Calvin And Hobbes would have looked like. Seeing the comic strip was done in the 80's. It would be sweet seeing such a film like that done on the same style of films like Aladdin, Lion King, Or Mulan. Seeing Calvin's Imagination brought to life on the big screen with what 90's Disney animators could do with the material. Heck. It still think it would be neat seeing Disney make a 2D Adaptation Out Of Calvin And Hobbes to some extent. I'd much rather see that than I would see Disney make more shitty remakes of their Animated Films Like Hunchback. Just don't do it like something Illumination would put out or have it be done in 3D (Some things done in 2D don't translate well to 3D). And just don't do it right after Bill Watterson dies or announce it so quickly after his death (That would be just so disgusting). And don't have it be all Politically Correct with a bunch of dumb "woke" junk nobody asked for. Feel free to either agree or disagree with me. Still. A fine job done on the video. God bless and have a nice day.
Thanks so much for uploading this. I just watched the whole movie muted with this playing because I just *had* to see the sequences moving while the directors spoke. Wonderful piece of work. Disney doesn't make them like this anymore.
this is proof that the gargoyles are not forced and added by executive meddling. if their were forced than why did so many people enjoy working on them? and yes i know some people dindt like them such as brenda song and alan menken but many did like working on them.
True, I’m not the biggest fan of them either but it’s clear that they were included from the very beginning. According to other interviews, the movie never had that much trouble keeping its darker elements, so one of their biggest challenges was ironically making the film more family friendly.
It’s not mutually exclusive. The studio could’ve told them to add the gargoyles and the animators and actors and writers could’ve enjoyed working them into the story once they were given the directive.
@@edgarallanpoestheblackcat6613 Out side the internet most people do. Than again most people on the internet lie they hate them because Nostaligia Critic said so and they want to be part of the club.
THANK YOU for this EDIT: I always wonder if Quasimodo's miniatures were inspired by the masterful real-life miniatures of various cathedrals created by Joseph Merrick aka the Elephant Man. It seems in keeping
Nice to know. I already wanted to upload some of these commentaries for a long time, but I had NO idea that some of them weren’t even available in Europe (which is ridiculous).
I loved this movie as a young teen. I dont think Disney would make something like this now, a bit too dark. Its a uniques animated film with lovely animation.
If you haven't yet, could you do one on Tangled? I adore that movie, and it me and brother's (possibly) favorite childhood movie! Its LITERALLY tied in 1st place with this awesome movie!!

Wow, how is your animation career nowadays, did you succeed ?
@@twentyfivemelodyYes I mostly work as a designer and background artist on kid shows
"Forgot that it was animated" literally how I describe this movie!!

Okay, that got me good 🤣

You said it perfectly! Pocahontas and Hunchback are the best of animation
When Bill Fagerbakke voiced the Oafish Guard, he gave us Patrick Star before he was cast as Patrick.

Happy 25 anniversary hunchback of notre dame
I usually Watched Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame 1 and 2 in 🇺🇲English and Spanish 🇲🇽
This is my favorite Disney Movie of all time and Frollo being my favorite Disney Villain 🖤💜❤️🤍❤️🔥😍😍😍😍

THANK YOU for this

I've heard they were, I hope so.
I more wonder how Quasimodo got the tools and materials for his wooden figures and models.
Thank you for uploading this. I haven't got this on the UK blu ray version, so this is amazing.

I've been looking for this for YEARS. You wouldn´t also happen to have the director's commentary for Disney´s Hercules?
Sorry, I think the only copy I have is an old dvd with no commentary on it.

Can you upload more commentaries for animated movies?

Do it for the prince of Egypt
I legit have that one planned next 😂 Can’t say when I’ll finish it tho, I pretty much spent the whole summer editing this video alone.
Are these truly the directors ?
Yep, along with Don Hahn (the producer). You can search their names and find other videos with them, their voices are pretty much the same.
