As a hunter who plays assassins cowl strand build… it’s really better with grapple grenades. You get two grapple grenades and you grapple melee to go invis. Plus you still have your threaded spike. And with the right mods and stats you have a grapple grenade up 90% of the time. So much fun.
@@Tavalii not if you happen to be able to go invis and fully heal every time you use your grapple. But that’s beside the point. This is “build battle”. Not “can your build survive a GM”. Not every build has to be GM ready. That being said I guarantee you Cross could make it work.
Though I'm typically a Warlock main, I've done most high level activities on my Hunter with Assassin's Cowl strand build. Two changes; one is switch to Grapple Grenade. This counts as both a grenade and melee kill increasing the amount of orbs created and helps with Woven Mail to increase survivability and go invis. Two; use Maelstrom and Decoy. The point of the build is to be aggressive but able to remove aggro at a moment's notice if you need to get out of a sticky situation. Your detonated decoy will send threadlings and you can clean up the affected enemies with a melee attack making yourself invisible again. Rinse and repeat, and you've got a beast on your hands. Bonus points if you want to be toxic; throw on Final Warning instead. A charged clip unravels enemies and makes tangles, taking advantage of Maelstrom. You'll be absolutely cooking.
As much as they have changed strand, I still cant take it off my Titan, combined with one two punch shotgun and synthos it is a beast that will eventually get nerfed to unusable levels much like stasis someday and even then they will have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers.
Syntos with Winterbite banner of war is also solid, takes care of both overload and unstoppable when the freeze effect kicks in. You want something to do between grapple punches that’s my suggestion.
So glad someone ran this Titan Stasis build. Have been running it for two weeks and it slaps. People are not familiar with it in the meta so it’s hard to get fire teams at the moment. Just wait until it catches fire after this video😊
I have been using precious scars in this build instead of hoarfrost for the survivalbility stasis lacks and have a better time. You make way plenty crystals and keep your barricade. I normally just run a fusion instead of indebted but thats only bc i need a better roll? Probably not meta - but detroying stasis crystals with it and the construct destroying perks might have some utility. Maybe not but worth trying to make some usable out of those traits.
Yes!!! Hoarfrost titan is my favorite build. It is not the best, but I don’t care. It’s so aggressive and I love it. The only change I would make is I love Ager’s Scepter as my stasis weapon. I typically use Ikelos SMG or Brigands Law with voltshot to do my shattering.
Indebted kindness is Sooo underrated. One of the most versatile special weapons this season by far. Glad to see it hanging out in harder end game content
I’ve been absolutely been loving severance enclosure builds. It can work with every subclass and it’s so fun to watch rooms of ads just explode with one melee.
As someone who uses the strand cowl build, all I can say is it gets even more fun when you can run grapple instead of suspend. Highly recommended if you’re doing something below master level
Been watching your content since D1 Dark Before! Here in the beginning here till the end 🤘🏼 you’ve come so far and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you man. You got this King 👑
I really hope we see a few more Stasis builds that are considered off Meta. Balidores, Lancecap, Icefalls. Even if they don't perform well against their competition I'd still like to see how they stack up. And maybe we'll get a Elimination round with all the Winners head to head.
If someone has the eggplants I got a build: precious scars w verglas, rocket sidearm, rocket or choice, subclass is glacier grenade, cryoclasm, diamond lance, fragments are chains, shards, fissures, rending, and bonds. Shits pretty good
@MatthewChovanec-UNT Can't wait to see what other people suggest, too. Stasis Titans are pretty starved for recognition, and it would be great to see our builds hang with some of the best.
This is awesome destiny content! Friendly competition and a great way to spread good build ideas around the community. Positive and entertaining stuff! Makes me wanna play destiny 2
I haven’t played d2 in 6+ months but will be playing the 18th. I’m getting my first gaming pc and have always wanted to play Destiny on PC for a LONG time.
The strand Hunter build looks pretty fun (as a warlock main who loves spamming his abilities whenever I get the chance). It seems very ability heavy, the bayblades of death are always up clearing adds, if I had a teammate rocking this build I would be totally relieved that I wouldn’t have to worry too much about wave management
That hunter build can use a few tweaks to make it possibly better, (subjectively) how about replacing your grenade and Quicksilver Storm with Wish-keeper and swap to Grapple grenade so you have Grapple melees to make you invis as well, this way you can still have a way to suspend big groups but you get more utility out of the Cowl Edit: before anyone comments about how Quicksilver is just a way better strand weapon, I know, I'm mostly suggesting this so the grenade slot can be swapped and Cowl gets a 2nd way to proc
The stasis build looks really fun, ive been looking for a stasis titan build worthy of endgame for a while. Did he swap out Whisper of Rime for Chains? I really hate bows, would this build still work without it? Possibly quicksilver with the strand relic perks? Maybe something with headstone?
I'm glad the stasis popped off, having a lot fun with it recently and it's alo suprisingly good for add clear and general utility. Putting crystals everywhere saves my ass a lot
The Strand Assassin Cowl was my first strand build & i can’t take it off..i use the double grapples & melee everything in sight & spread unravel everywhere when i use Final Warning plus the maelstrom with it
if you do the thing where you *hold* the melee after you throw it to auto-catch it, I believe you don't become visible again on catching. Been a minute since I tested it but I remember that interaction being weird :P
saw the Hoarfrost-Z in the thumbnail and thought... "OOOOh, my titan's current build". Only difference is my Indebted Kindness uses Permeability for stasis surge synergy. volt shot is great and all, but when you can have all weapons on one element to stack surge mods onto, especially a boss-chonker like that sidearm, its massively slept on for non-Arc builds. If the Blast Radius stat is high enough, you don't need Voltshot to clear out a group of redbars. with a single rocket. I used to use this setup before Wish season but it was a Behemoth Titan using Jotunn and an explosive payload Perses-D or Horror Story with Demo/Headstone. I call it "EL PADRE GIGANTE" and just like the Dark Souls' iconic Giant Dad, it's OBNOXIOUS! lmao but yes, Hoarfrost wins this IMO, just for being more creative and interesting than another Strand setup with Quicksilver (oh, and its a hunter using the Cowl? Daring today, aren't we?).
My favorite pve is the strand hunter build but with threaded specter instead of widows silk, which I know is a little redundant with assassin's cowl but its still pretty useful considering the limitations of the invis on the threaded spike
This video definitely shows off how Behemoth is by no means bad. Frankly speaking, the main changes I'd like to see are changes to make it a bit less awkward. Namely, Diamond Lances shouldn't block shots and Glacial Quake's heavy should get you to the ground faster. Otherwise, Behemoth's problems are more so just Stasis problems in general, which are: The subclass doesn't have much in the way of survivability (which Frost Armor may fix) and the subclass is lacking in options. Each class should get a new option for their super on Stasis. Shadebinder should get something like Mobius Quiver / Storm's Edge, pressing the super button will spend some of your super to create a amped up Bleak Watcher turret, allowing you to place 2 or 3 turrets per super. Behemoth would get a one and done super, be it a ranged panic super or a defensive super (think bubble, but you instead make a shit load of towering crystals all around you at once). Revenant would probably get some sort of roaming super (though I'd also say that Revenant in general needs a rework, it's actually dogshit compared to everything else we have, despite the recent changes to it).
Campus Ridge Lance is so slept on this season you can run it without Lance aspect too FYI. My favorite build ATM would recommend to anyone looking for something new. It's better than hoarfrost imo
When going invis you have about a second where you can do anything without breaking invis, thats why if the melee comes back fast you can stay invis. It would be great if it didn't break it at all but can't get everything from Bongo.
At the end, you and @Mactics should do a battle of builds to see who is the champion. He's currently doing a series called "Will it build" where he tests user submitted builds.
been using this build for a while but i prefer to use the duskfield grenade so i can counter all champs. and when you freeze targets with the dunk nade it will still shatter and do damage to enemies around it
Shackle grenades for the Asscowl build is odd. Grapple melee is arguably the best way to trigger Asscowl imo. Also with the thrown melee it can make you invis multiple times if you break stealth and it kills something again before it comes to you.
The assassins cowl strand build is 1000x better with grapple. The whole thing revolves around grapples bc that grapple melee counts as powered and you can chain them so easily
I was trying something crazy. I wanted to work a Strand build with Rat King, Gyrfalcon’s, and a void energy weapon with destabilizing rounds. Having suspend, volatile, and invis all in one. Couldn’t make anything powerful, just a jack of all trades build that isn’t visible in higher end content. I’m hoping someone can make it work better than I did because I like the idea of a “cross sub” build.
I think the biggest flaw with the first build is the lack of survivability in those "oh shit" kinda moments. ESPECIALLY in a GM. Whisper of Rime is essential if you're not trying to die mid casting of whatever abilities you're throwing out. With the amount of crystals you're making too, you'll have OS quite often. Not to mention the slide aspect can definitely be thrown out for the other 2 choices for added fragment slots.
run a similar stasis build on my hunter using verglas / Indebted Kindness with Lead to Gold and Deconstruct, spam stasis crystals everywhere then destroy them with the sidearm 🙏🏽
As a warlock, my builds haven't changed for the past 2 years. Warlock doesn't change at all. Bungie doesn't want to make us too strong that we would break pvp. Warlock builds these past 2 years.
