I played this with Sam at boardmasters ‘24 . This track is so relatable, I lost my mam at a young age and I always had family issues where I grew up, always envied my mates who seemed to have nothing wrong. I’ll return to this song forever. Thank you sam x ❤

There is something absolutely jaw-dropping about the passion and catharsis behind Sam's music, and I am and will always be here for it. The saxophone and guitars in this song are impeccable, Sam's performance is mind-boggling and the combination of belting instruments and intimate, personal lyrics is masterful. It's very rare that I ever comment on a youtube video, but exceptions have to be made for pieces of art as unique, honest, beautiful and life-affirming as this song is for me. I don’t remember the last time I commented on a video here, but I have to thank you Sam.. my father used to be an amazing musician who wrote more than 60 songs and used to play the saxophone amazingly well that would brought tears to my little eyes as a kid. Unfortunately he got severely sick and nowadays barely recognises anything about it, but yesterday I put this one for him and he loved it. Brought hope to my aching heart ❤️
