I used to also play in one of these groups but right now missing it due to busy office schedule.
Pune is really best to watch Ganpati Visarjan procession at Laxmi Road.
Pune's Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati is the first Sarvajanik Ganpati of India.
You must actually visit at least once in life time to see this Ganpati procession.
This year everything is missed due to covid.
Festival has been there for ages (thousands of years ) but doing it collectively in community gatherings n the culture of going to each other's houses n inviting people or having it in large gatherings was started by Balgangadhar Tilak was to create community feeling to bring people together before independence.
You should hear the drums beating during visarjan.. especially in Pune.. those beats will make the hairs on your hand stand..

It depends on one whether he celebrate it for 10 days, 1&1/2 day, 21 days, one of my relative obeserved it for year- for his son's Civil Exams Results
Vo jo dhol tasha baja rahe the, unhe dhol tasha pathak(teams) kehte hai, Har mandal(Ganesh pandal) ka ek pathak. 6 months ki practice karte hai vo Ganesh visarjan je pehle. Kabhi kabhi celebrity ko bhi member bana lete hai. Competition hota hai aur best award milta hai.

1) Listen to the DHOL and the TASHA. There are many rhythms. You might find some videos like NASIK DHOL and PUNERI DHOL that will give you that sense
2) The procession along with the music goes on for 24 hours a lot of times.
3)The Quaid e Azam considered Tilak to be his political guru.

there are many forms of hindi, its good u r trying to learn and now i can say u learnt few sanskrit words, there is fact that if u able to learn sanskrit then u can learn other languages of india easily and now tamil brothers pls dont argue it is proven that tamil is derived from sanskrit in spoken terms but script is different and sanskrit is very older than any other indian language.
IMAN .. This festival was always there, however BAL GANGADHAR used this festival to unite Indians against the British. British had put a ban on political and Freedom seeking gatherings however had allowed religious gatherings. Bal Gangadhar Tilak used this as a opportunity to pass on the message to fellow Indians to fight for Independence. Since then it gained popularity. Bal GangaDhar Tilak said ..... SWARAJ MERA JANMSIDDH ADIKAAR HAI, AUR MAIN ISEY LEKE HI RAHOONGA ( Self Rule is my Birth Right and I shall attain it )
