      Building a contender through the portal vs recruiting. I understand every college does both but some take the portal recruting to a different level.

      Great point!!! This is idiotic. One of my frat brothers walked on at the UW and completely blew his knee out playing tight end on the scout team against the all pac 10 starter who was at least 60 pounds heavier. Even if he didn’t want to go the military route he could have completed a journeymen program and be making serious money by now.

    I don't think he's abusing the system. He just got really bad injury luck and he just wants the chance to fulfill his dream of playing college football

      in his 8th year (this year) he had like 70 yards for the season
      he is 25 and obviously has an extensive injury history
      no matter what 9th season he has, i doubt hes getting drafted
      he'll be 26 next month

    Im in a similar situation, but im 24, and im currently walking on to play for the Volunteers at Nose tackle.
    Im 6'6 360 I took two leap years after graduating from high school,high school football injury is what led to me losing 12 interest scholarships, i also ended up missing my senior as of the injury being a 12 month recovering process. and defensive coordinator coach discourage me from pursuing collegiate career telling me it won't happen and nobody doesn't want to take me.
    So I said to hell with you. I refuse to sit around and let my time go to waste, and so now im walking on educating myself on and off the field. Potential for me is the greater opportunity and education will be receiving, and yea i do think about playing professionally but its all about opportunity and timing, something i wont miss.

      NIL and the portal are going to extremely mess up college sports and especially football. Less and less kids are going to get recruited because coaches can just dip into the portal to get what they need for next year and now because of NIL.. players not good enough for the league are milking out every bit of eligibility they can get to keep getting that NIL money.

      Not true. Played against him just last year. dude is a perfectly capable tight end. A lot of these guys are truly just awaiting the perfect storm. Just need one solid year to change your life with this ball stuff. lock in ! Lol

    Cam McCormick was actually expected to become a big-time player at Oregon. He committed early and got hurt, which hurt his rankings, but for people around the program he was expected to develop into a starting Oregon TE which a means a good player. Oregon is almost always good at that position and he was seen as the next one to do it out of Oregon.

  • @seminoleseth5718
    @seminoleseth5718 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I get being annoyed, but let’s face facts, he’s probably not getting drafted and NIL can definitely help set him up post college. Plus, he’s getting the chance to live out his dream and play big time football. We’d all hold on to that as long as we could.

  • @darthsilversith667
    @darthsilversith667 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    With NIL.. you’ll start to see A LOT more of this. Players not quite good enough to make it to the NFL are now gonna milk out every bit of eligibility possible so they don’t have to go get a real job for as long as possible.
    I think we also need to limit portal jumps per player to like.. 1-2 tops and thats it.

    I lined up against McCormick just last season 23’. He’s a pretty chill guy out there on the field lol. As much as we wanted to make fun of bro on the scouting report it’s like u couldn’t help but commend bro for even lasting so long. Realistically Surviving in the P5 world is so hard especially with school responsibilities and competition in general. People just don’t understand how hard it is to let opportunities like years of eligibility go to waste . hope he sees more football in the future.
