I have a few of these and other kinds of squirrels where I am working...have made a buddy out of a douglas pine...he is such a character....hates blue jays that are trying to get his peanuts...chases them all over!
I heard a low buzzing sound this morning and there were two under the redwoods, enjoying the mealworms and sunflower seeds I had put out. It was a quiet sound; I'd never heard that before. Generally, I see only one, rarely two.
These little guys come on my deck and sometimes take peanuts from my hand. When two of them come face to face, watch out! They cuss a blue streak!
These guys are so tiny and cute. :) I was up at Pinecrest Lake last week and got sassed repeatedly by these cutie pies.
This video is awesome!! It has all the calls of the Douglas Squirrel in one video!! Thanks for the unload!!
Thank you for posting this! This is the only recording of the "territorial" call I've been able to find.

I hear these all the time at my grandmas house
Douglas squirrels are pretty funny and entertaining to me. Sometimes can be annoying if camping or BBQing.

I like this kind of videos
I love them theyre my little chocolate babies
I say that, too! Lol
I call my mom's cat chocolate boy, sugar boy ... 🍫 🍬
My dog goes full alert when she hears these squirrels and the chase is on. They simply "laugh" at her. This recording has the same effect.
0:30 this should be a NYPD siren
do you know where this is filmed
Western Oregon, USA. Benton County.
Пока живы белки мы алкаши в безопасности - пока рано бить тревогу ))))))
Does anyone know the call going in the background of the first clip?
I'm not sure but I have heard it for as long as I can remember in the mountains of Northern California.
Right?? I've been trying to find it for years!!
