I usually set the role of what the copilot's answer will be like. For example, "As a professor in economics, what are the most used Cost and Income terms in Business Economics?" I find this to be extremely helpful.
If you want Copilot in the Microsoft 365 apps, it's an additional monthly fee (training and running AI models is incredibly expensive -- you'll find more details here: www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/copilotpro).
Awesome begginer tutorial for prompting and using Microsoft Copilot 👌also dont forget to add the Cards refferencing the Copilot resources at the end of the video 💪
Thank you @KevinStratvert, this is very helpful! I am hoping to learn more on how Microsoft CoPilot can help one learn more about the topic of AI , Responsible AI, Explainable AI and Ethics. Are these included as well, Kevin? Thank you for putting this together for us.
Kevin got big doing videos for Microsoft. But then he quit his job at Microsoft and started making his own stuff. So now Microsoft probably pays him double or triple to make the same videos - I think that's the real lesson here LOL
Hi Kevin thanks for your amazing videos.. I was hoping you can do a video for copilot image prompts specifically for good photographic realistic images of rooms and lighting..I don't seem to be getting good results..thank you
In all your Copilot videos, you just show the Copilot button is already integrated in any Office tools such as Excel, Outlook, Word etc., but you didn't show or explain how did you install Copilot into Office tools and is it for free or it's a abo with cost. I hope you could add this info.
That really helped me to understand Copilot. Thank you very much. How come that I do not have Copilot in my Office 365 applications? What do I need to do to get it in PowerPoint, Excel etc.?
Now if you can work with Microsoft to make images with embedded text actually spell correctly without having to do manual editing later on in Paint, that would be a complete miracle! For example, tell Copilot to "draw a sign for the Kevin Cookie Company" and you'll see how BAD it messes up the text in the sign! It's very frustrating!
It is called "temperature" in LLM models. It is intentional feature to make the outcome more creative and less deterministic. You can also use LLMs as deterministic tool through API calls by setting temperature to 1 (see OpenAI Playground as an example).
The good part with the inconsistency is that if you're unhappy with the original result, you can regenerate as many times as you need to try different variations. With history, you can always go back and review previous responses.
Co-pilot sucks. It works only if I am trying to get some information as a search engine. As for the creative part, take for example that email you show as a sample, it's better I write on my own .... it takes lesser time. I have tried generating pictures, text, article, analysis. It sucks to whatever prompts I am writing. I tried writing simple prompts, complex prompts, even broke down the prompt into simpler points and still it won't work.
Is there a way for copilot texts to be humanized? It seems everything is written by AI, and it is not good. There is a lack of emotion in the writing. Thanks.
You take a class to learn how to use a tool to do something efficiently in the future. You don’t take a class to get a task done efficiently right at that moment.

No we don't ;)
Thanks for this video. I recently got Copilot to DM RPG games. Currently enjoying Cyberpunk with Copilot.
Hi Kevin. You have found your perfect 'tone'. It's excellent now. It's improved from a while ago and I applaud your effort.
Hey, thanks!
Wow. I can't wait to try it out on helping me stay up to date with my tasks generated from the 100 emails I receive daily for work.
It's perfect for catching up on and responding to email. That's how I've finally gotten on top of my inbox 😁 It's a game saver for email responses.
❤❤❤❤❤😊🇰🇭 I like all your videos@@KevinStratvert
Is it included in my Microsft 360 subscription?

As always, your video is so informative and beneficial for us. Many thanks for your effort

Glad you think so!
Thanks Kevin for sharing this valuable info regarding Copilot.
My pleasure!

Keven, you are appreciated

If I spend too much time on the prompt I might as well teach myself the topic I'm asking about.
I could have written that entire email in the time it took him to write the prompt!
The thing about AI is that it is simply a deeper dive into extracting personal information to sell, turn into weapons, and/or assist. Pretty tricky.
give us back the "" Todddaay....." come onnnnnn. We like the previous vibes they made this channel an icon
Thank you so much.

You'll need Copilot Pro to be able to use Copilot in the Microsoft 365 apps: www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/copilotpro

I don't see Copilot tab on my Microsoft 365 apps. How can I?
Me neither. Such bullshit.

How do you research for the video?
Is Copilot included in all 365 apps? Don't I have to pay an additional $20 a month to get it?

my company shut off access to copilot …wtf
How to Microsoft Kevin Cookie

Yeah, spelling in images is a weakness. I usually regenerate until it gets it right. It’s frustrating for sure.
Copilot is inconsistent, the same prompt gets different responses! Makes me mad!

What card up above?😢

You can include that as part of the prompt (eg use more emotion, sound human like, simplify the language, etc).
By now you could have written the message yourself.
Once you're proficient with writing good prompts, you'll find it's a massive time saver (at least it is for me).
