    That’s a great scape. Good to see back and as usual great choice of music for the video. I love scaping a 40g tank. One of my two are due for a rescape.

    Looks really good. I'm slowly converting all my plants to live. Adding a live plant taking out a fake plant

    How can I get the leaves on my plants to stop melting, also. My tank is overtaken by those little brown snails, how can I get rid of them? Than you

    • @ThePlantedTankTV
      @ThePlantedTankTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd have to know a lot more about your setup before I can give you an answer on that. But as for the snails I just remove as many as I can during water changes. Or buy assassin snails.

    Thanks for all the ideas, especially the Heavy Duty rack from The Home Depot. Does the 40B fit snugly, or is there a little room to spare? 🙏🏾I prefer snug.

    • @ThePlantedTankTV
      @ThePlantedTankTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a pretty snug fit. But I used two pieces of the wood that comes with the rack. If you only use one it sits on the frame which isn’t good.

    • @wyzemann
      @wyzemann ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePlantedTankTV That's exactly what I want to hear. Currently, my newish 40B has been idly sitting on the floor for a year because I won't pay for a wobbly aquarium shelf🤣. I'll check out the one you have to see if I can work with it.

  • @Bebopopotamus
    @Bebopopotamus ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you have a good amount of experience with the heavy duty rack as a stand? I live in a place that has the occasional earthquake and i really like the idea of the stand holding in the tank instead of it just sitting on top of it. Have you modified it at all? It just happens to fit a 40 breeder perfectly?

    • @ThePlantedTankTV
      @ThePlantedTankTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly don't recommend it. I bought it because other aquarists use them a lot but it sketched me out everyday. My mind was never at ease. I definetly DO NOT recommend it if you live in an earthquaky area!

      @@ThePlantedTankTV I plan on getting a 40 or 55 next i used black Diamond blasting sand on my new 20 it’s about a month old and finally getting over a crazy amount of diatoms so maybe the stratum won’t be as bad since sand has more silicates

    I miss this sh*t man...I moved into our new home it has well water.the only way I can start doing planted tanks again is by learning how to remineralize RO water and get a RO filter ...just seems like alot idk I could be wrong

    • @ThePlantedTankTV
      @ThePlantedTankTV  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well water is okay. Just get your self a nice RO unit and send it into a 55 gallon bin. Remineralizing is easier than you think. Just use a good all in one brand and bring the TDS up to 120 and you'll be a planted tank god. 🥲
