It broke my heart when Ashley said she felt like she could’ve been more hardworking in her 20s and wish she did more. To bust your butt for 7 YEARS without getting paid a dime, go through what Ladies Code went through, and still find the drive to continue? Then goes on to slowly build her own brand and business? THAT is the epitome of hard work and resilience. I’m so happy Joan recognizes this and doesn’t let you undermine your accomplishments even for a second. I love this friendship 🥺

For real. Especially knowing that Joan doesn't show her sassy side on camera but always fights tooth and nail to ensure that Ash never undermines her own efforts is so heartwarming. The way she exposed the entertainment company without a second thought. 😂
Same goes for the other LC members too. The bond that the girls continue to maintain is amazing.

Also Ladies Code had one of the strongest debuts in Kpop. Nothing or nobody can take that away from the members.

Joan is right... Ashley and her members worked so hard that it's so unfair that they were treated like that by their company. I Googled their former entertainment company and I pity those who are still there. Glad Ashley is now independent and gets to enjoy life and work as an artist.

I love Joan's rant about how hard you've worked and you and other idols deserve so much better 💛 you really did sacrifice so much and I'm glad that you have more freedom now. For what it's worth, I think you must have handled the pressures well to be the person you are now, and I hope you're letting yourself be completely happy and indulge in everything you want now. Always proud of you Ashley 🥰

Adulting is like what Joan said, its an ongoing process, at nearly 37 I am still finding my way in life, learning and growing.
Your 30s are nothing to be scared of, they should be enjoyed, you're both still young, super attractive, have great careers and now have more money than in your 20s to enjoy life even more so! Enjoy it girls 💜🥂💜

"It‘s never too late." - Thank you for these words, I really needed to hear them. As someone who doesn’t have the success other persons have my age and being raised in a community where this was all you were compared for, it‘s so comforting to hear and takes a lot of pressure away that I was currently feeling. Thank you Ashley and Joan for this lovely video and I hope, you both have or had great birthdays. 💕

For someone who just entered her mid 20s and often finds herself lost, it is comforting to know we are never truly alone in this journey. So, thank you for this series! ☺️
Also, idk if this helps but when I catch myself comparing to others around my age, I remind myself that what I see (what they show) is not everything that I get (understand)! So don’t beat yourself up and just be a little kinder to yourself!

It is such a beautiful things to have a friend to rely on especially in 20s. I am 26 and still struggle to secure my permanent job, every night before sleep I will always close my eyes while tears rolling down and praying that I can provide to my father, mother and sister the best that I can and repay all their investment on me. Watching this video and on Joan video make me can relate that, 20s is the age we struggle to figure out ourselves to go to which way. Try and error. Happiest birthday Joan and Ash! I'm also turning 21 soon & I've been constantly stressed bc I feel like I'm not moving fast enough. But this video made me realize that I'm literally JUST 20. If we live until we're 80, we still have 60, SIXTY, years to find ourselves & reach our goals! Society constantly pressures us into the mindset of: "If you're this age, you have to be 'here'." But like... why? We can literally go at our own pace. We just have to stop comparing ourselves to others & stop trying to rush things. I think it was Ashely that said in the video, but we should appreciate moments more. Sure, my mom's toxic and I'm struggling to pay my bills LOL, but hey, I have an easygoing job, I have a beautiful dog who is aging, I've been wearing this amazing winter coat all winter, etc. We have to appreciate the small stuff & realize that this exact moment isn't actually that bad 🥺💗

Seeing some of your friends being successful isn't your story, focus on you. Problem recently is we are so used to comparing, and that makes our lives miserable. So focus on you. ✨ and yes Joan is right, slow down. Focus on your own race.
This video makes me excited of the future, and thank you Joan and Ashley for inspiring us. ✨ More blessings for you both!!!! God bless!!! ❤️❤️

0:09 for anyone who would criticize wine in a can, hey it looks like pouring from a can aerates it really well!
1:20 LOL at anyone who thinks that adulting could end at 30. IMO it's close to finishing once you have your own home and know how to take care of everything in and around it, financially stable, have a stable career or are retired, and the kids are out of the house. Basically when you have fewer responsibilities and less risk.
The difference in amount of wine consumed was striking :)

Hi. I'm Maya. This segment really hits me. Like I just turned 23 this march 13 and here I am feeling too old and tired already. Like I feel like I am the last in the race already just because I can't graduate on time. I got extended for like a year in college and here I am stressing out everyday and pushing myself so hard that sometimes leads me to not doing anything which also makes me feel tired. And watching this made me realize I am so freaking young to be stressing out myself like this. I thought that maybe if my 30years old self would see me now, she would say what you girls said. So thank you so much. This a great reflection to people like me who are in their 20s. Fighting!

  • @KRUIofficial
    @KRUIofficial 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Ashley you may be the most humble person without trying to be. But let me persuade you of how amazing you actually are 🤧.
    1. It's not always about the amount you do. You can still be super accomplished and hardworking without exploring so many different avenues. And sometimes it's hard to see that when others around us seem to do it all and experience tremendous success with it. With that being said, I genuinely do think you do a TON. You've been an amazing kpop artist in a famous girl group, you run a personal TH-cam business/brand, and you kick ass as a radio host and personality. You know you impact so many people with your kindness, right? That brings me to
    2. You're genuinely great at what you do! I think I speak for everyone when I say this. Your voice, dancing, and professionalism was on poiinntttt when you were in kpop. And it's always a treat when you upload the occasional song cover 😊. You're such a great host! And I mean it. Not only are you very socially aware and emotionally intelligent, you bring a badass female energy of confidence while also making everyone else in the room feel safe and comfortable to be vulnerable. So never downplay what you bring to the table!
    3. You are unique in your strengths. Along with what I said in point 2, you do so well in exemplifying aspects you shine in. You're always honest in the kindest way. You're so personable and many feel lucky to have a great friend like you. Your energy is contagious. I feel like I could watch you do the most mundane thing and still smile like an idiot haha.
So in conclusion, you're amazing, wonderful, and all the other positive adjectives out there. Please never downplay your own success and all you've done. Aside from your impressive resume, your attitude and character shines so brightly. In the future, I would love to hear you say more that you appreciate and acknowledge all you've accomplished (even though I know you're probably going to try to aim even higher, which is great!). Sorry for the long comment, but I hope you know how cool you are, Ashley. 😄

OMG Your words about Idol’s work is soooo true! Time. Time is the most valuable resource. And you give it to the company, refusing to go to university, risking your future, working with no payment for many years and might not succeed. Only for the risk of wasting your precious years of life and not succeeding needs to be payed. Even a little amount, like Ashley said. Like an insurance fee. Honestly!

I am 32, my 20s were so different from my 30s. My 20s feel like it was training for my 30s, because now I am starting to become more settle down. After 8 years of working towards changing my career field, I finally landed a job in my dream organization. I working in the performing arts industry, I’m learning how to heal from past hurt. My 30s feel so much more productive and wholesome. I remember feeling so sad I’m saying goodbye to my 20s because they were fun, but now it’s better. For anyone about to turn 30, get ready for things coming together slowly. As Joan said, go with the flow.

Thank god for Joan!! She really puts a lot into perspective for Ashley especially coming from the kpop world… totally agree they should pay the idols! And yes use the money in the right places… like paying the artists! Anyways, Ashley its a blessing in disguise i think and you are truly doing so well and we all see it! You deserve all the happiness seriously!! ☺️☺️

13:56 I really resonated with Joan here about freelancing. While we all know shes thriving and killing it freelance, I was surprisingly successfully doing freelance but it REALLY drained me having to do everything myself and worrying about getting support (like hiring an assistant of sorts). I've since went back to a comfortable 9-5 job that allows me to just clock in and clock out and really cherish time off and the company of my friends.
    I hope everyone finds happiness!

It’s so cool to be able to be turning 30 around the same time as my favorite influencers! I turned 30 in September, and it was honestly a bit scary, because I don’t feel like I’ve got my life together at all, but I’m looking forward to what this decade brings

These wine spill episodes are saving my life no kidding I feel like I relate to a little bit of both of them granted the fact that they had different experiences throughout their growth I find myself relating more to Ashley because I’m 22 haven’t worked yet and I’m just in community college and occasionally my parents give me an allowance I don’t really ask them for anything because due to the pandemic I have nowhere to go nobody to hang out with and I just have to focus on my classes on zoom in my room. And I feel so behind on everything because the way Joan feels like She’s older than everyone around her I don’t have a friend that’s born in my year Everyone’s a little younger or a little older by a year or two and I keep wondering where do I fit in because when I look at their lives the younger ones are already having babies and the older ones already achieved so much but they’re barely just a year or two older than me but I feel like I’m behind even the younger ones and even the older friends Because I don’t feel that sense of achievement or if I worked hard enough like how it actually feels with her trainee and years she spent as an artist. But in the end after all of that over thinking I know that everybody’s pace is different and I’ll get there soon enough if I know I’m working on it and when I get there I feel like I’ll have to see where I go from there also so adulting never stops indeed.

This is a truly wholesome video. Mentally, I’ve been struggling with moving up with the numbers of age. I don’t officially join the thirties club until next year but what was said was major relatable. Me, struggling with not being where I would have liked to be in your twenties was a big hit to my mental health. As a woman, there is this underline stress that society put on us to meet these standards before a certain age. If not met then we are deemed undesirable. See this video shows that I’m not the only going through these struggles. Y’all are truly some boss ladies that are getting through this life so gracefully. Truthfully a fan now! Happy Birthday Beauties!!
P.s. Why am I only discovering y’all now. I guess, everything happens when it needs to happen.
