If the Jets get anyone at the deadline, it's critical they get someone with both speed and size. Both Monahan and Toffoli showed they could not keep up with the pace of playoff hockey. Also someone too small will just get pushed around.
Am I crazy to say that the jets dont need a 2C? With Kupari and Gustafsson showing real promise I think one of them could be a future 2C and we move on from Vladdy. Gus has proven his forecheck that has led to his point streak and Kupari has shown he plays well with perfetti. Plus we have Lambert coming in, I just dont see a Namestnikov future with the Jets.
It's a fair assessment of the top line. It's what I've been saying for a bit. People keep thinking I'm cherry picking games, but the stats are the stats. Yeah, they may look dominant skating by the Flames or the Habs, but against better opposition, particularly, heavier, physical teams, the top line is not much of a factor. We've seen it against the Knights. We've seen it two games against the Kings, where they have 33 shots total and have only scored 2 goals, on the PP. And against the Stars in Dallas, it was the same thing. Even against the Avs, while they did win 3 of 4, the top line didn't really factor in those games. Yeah, the depth scoring picked them up in the Avs' games against the Capitals, but it's not a regular occurrence. A top line is not going to be a factor every game, and the depth scoring will pick up the slack. But it seems that this is a constant theme when they play better opposition. And in the playoffs, where most of the play is at 5-on-5, even with all the depth, the top line needs to drive play. Just imagine if they get the Kings in the first round, who would be the 2WC. That would be a nightmare. People can say the Kings' game is boring, but it is very effective at slowing the Jets down, especially the top line. And it can't be expected that the depth scoring will pick up the slack 4 times in 7 games.
Was a great game. Depth lines really stepped up. Also, feel like I should have given Morrissey way more roses here. I am almost too used to his excellence haha.

Hell of a game, Jets were worn down at the end by some rough play and a few frustrating non-calls. Definitely felt they deserved to win it though
