- TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins SC with Jay Onrait to share his thoughts on whether the Jets top line is the best in the league, how crucial this part of the season is for the Canadiens and the direction they take at the trade deadline, and what Calgary’s front office needs to do before the deadline.
The top Canadian goal scorer is not even on Team Canada. 😅
4 nations cup idea is crap anyway. Let’s bring back the original Canada Cup
Bizarre how Scheifele didn’t make the cut.
@@Guffman30 it’s not bizzare. Jets are always over looked or just brushed over. Like we’re pretenders and it’s all cause of Helly. So I say F everyone. Wpg jets doesn’t need the respect from anyone.
@@Guffman30 I prefer this so he can rest. He is banged up a bit. I wish Morrisey and Helle would decline. This Tourney is a joke.
Classic TSN. Titles the video like it’s about Winnipeg then ends up talking about Montreal and Calgary for 80% of the video
To their credit, they didn't work a Leafs angle into it too.
@@porphyrysteve4545 I guess that's growth!
Not only do the Jets have a great top line, but they have reliable depth scoring as well.
I remember when people wanted to trade 55…gotta get that 1st and a prospect!
i was super critical of Schiefele last season - but he his playing on a totally different level this season.
Any Jets fans remember last season when our top line was being outscored by their opponents? Is this top line a product of Arniel's brilliance?
The Jets have assembled an excellent coaching staff.
@@timbro1 for the PP especially, holy Davis Payne took us from the bottom to the top
@saucylittlenumber3575 the PP is #1 so their points totals are high as a result of that. They were bottom half on the PP last season
@@Bomber_Boi All hail Davis Payne!
💯 my favorite line, no doubt about it
Connor and shief tied for second in the league for goals scored
Best value!
all the jets fans mad that tsn uses them for the thumb nail and only talk about the jets for 90 seconds just know we are the best fanbase in the country. They know they will get engagement if hey use the jets
It’s a small fan base but a good one
Small market
Super hot line
I'm glad the Jets are smoking their opponents, but it won't matter if they can't prove it in the playoffs, assuming they clinch a spot
Without a doubt
GoJetsGo!!
Maybe someone can help me understand game blackouts. I am a huge Jets fan who lives here in Calgary. Last nights game Jets vs Habs was blacked out here in Alberta on multiple TSN stations- both TSN 2 AND 3. This was a game played by a Manitoba team vs a Quebec team played in Montreal and it was blacked out in Alberta (and god knows where else) Who decides this? Who’s responsible? And how does this continue to happen? It’s infuriating, I pay for all the TSN channels and I never get to see what I want.
It's all about regional restrictions based on broadcast rights.
Get a VPN dude, if you can't beat em, cheat em
@ I get that but you gotta agree it’s ridiculous. It’s not like we are in the middle of the USA and want to watch that particular game.
@@JUVI9596 You could always buy the Sportnet + package and watch wherever, whenever
I’d very much prefer to spread the scoring around more. What happens if one of the top line gets injured in the playoffs?
Or gets shut down, like we've seen against the Kings or Knights. They look good against lesser teams, but against better, heavier teams who play physical, it's a different story. And that is who they will see in the playoffs.
@AlergicToSnow they have some of the best depth in the league. The Avs have some of the greatest disparity between their top line, and the rest of their team
@@Bomber_Boi No, they don't. Good teams know the game plan. Shut down the Jets top line and stay disciplined, and the Jets scoring dries up. We've seen it against the Knights, the Stars, and in two games against the Kings.
@@pomerlain8924 wrong. The Jets have elite scoring depth. Listing a couple of games when the top line doesn't score isn't the point you think it is
@@pomerlain8924 Also, you're conveniently leaving out the game vs. Dallas, where our depth pumped them for 4 goals
Lose two rounds to recent or that years champs and the media treats the jets like they’re the leafs. Absolutely ridiculous
Yes
This isnt even a Jets video...talk 30seconds about jets tgen yap about non playoff teams. Booooo TSN lame af
Gotta say no. Like the Jets, but people get too caught up when they have these types of games against lesser teams. The top line disappears way too much, especially against contending teams. Their games against the Knights and Kings were a prime example.
The Oilers' top line is a factor every game.
Montreal was the hottest team in the last 6 weeks. No line is white hot every shift. Their numbers speak for themselves
@@Bomber_Boi Montreal is not a cup contender. When this team goes up against better teams, like the Knights and Kings, and Stars, the top line is silent. The prime example was when they played Boston and Vegas. They looked like world beaters against the Bruins and crushed them 8-1. And then two days later, the play Golden Knights, and the team had just 4 shots on goal midway through the game and top line was non-existent. Another example is their two games against the Kings. In two games, they've managed a grand total of 33 shots and 0 5-on-5 goals. The Kings shut the top line down and made the Jets play their style. The top line did nothing.
The Jets aren't going to be playing a young Habs team in the playoffs. They're going to be playing a heavy, physical team who won't be taking penalties.
@@pomerlain8924 Cherry picking 3-4 games out of 50 and claiming it proves your point is a statistical fallacy. Unless you can name a top line on any team in the last 25 years that went 82 games without being shut out, you're arguing in bad faith.
@@Bomber_Boi I'm not cherry picking anything. Against bigger, more physical teams, the so-called best top line in hockey is not heard from. And a lot of those heavy, physical teams, are in the West. The teams they will face in the playoffs. You know, like the Knights, who the Jets have beaten only once in the past 3 seasons, including the loss in the playoffs.
This top line looks great against lesser teams that don't play physical or push them off the puck. But they're not playing those lesser teams in the playoffs. Let's see how the so-called best top line in hockey looks against a heavy, physical Caps team on Saturday night. Will they be a factor or will they again be not very noticeable? And if they're not very noticeable, don't want to hear the excuses about the top line can't show up every game or they're tired. Those were the excuses when they lost to Vegas.
@@pomerlain8924 ya, you're cherry picking. Stop arguing in bad faith
Stop talking about the Habs jets man
And will Scheifele being playing the Four Nations? Nope.
I mean, best line hands down is when you have Draisaitl-Mcdavid-Hyman and it's not even close but I know they usually don't play on the same line all the time
Oh yeah that’s why we have the top scoring line in the league
@@Jay-sj3io Bro what? Jets line have 171 pts in 156 games, the line I pointed out has 170 pts in 139 games... 1,22 pts/game for Oilers versus 1,09 pts/game for the Jets... like dude just say you know nothing
@@Gaborik560I’m taking about goals not points.
I'm a Jets fan and I agree any line that has McDavid, Draisaitl and ? will likely be the top line in the NHL, you have what I consider the best player McDavid and you also have Draisaitl top 5 best player in the NHL. With that being said I'd take Kyle Connor, Schiefele or Villardi over Hyman in a heartbeat much in the same way Point, Kucherov, Geuntzel are all better options than Hyman.
Drai barely plays with McDavid unless they're trying to catch up in the score. Not a great comparison
They will choke in the playoffs like usual
In your dopey opinion, of course. You have no idea what will happen in this year's post-season until it happens. And the Jets have at least made the playoffs every year but one in the last seven, AND went all the way to the conference finals in 2018. There are roughly about 13 teams in the league that would kill to have that playoff record.
@@Arasteele Simply making the playoffs is not good enough. Yeah, they made the conference finals in 2018. They've won one series since. They've won a grand total of 3 series in the last 13 seasons. I'm pretty sure not many teams want that record. Teams want a record like the Oilers, who've consistently won playoff rounds, and made it to the conference finals twice and Game 7 of the cup final. Not to mention, the Jets have lost 10 straight playoff games following a loss. So this team doesn't handle adversity well.
