The only time I had a problem with a Canik was when I was running some really poor quality hand loads during 2020’s ammo crises. Those hand loads did run just fine in a Shield EZ and a CZ P10C but I consider that to be beyond expectation performance out of those two guns. What I love about Caniks is their accuracy, in part due to the great trigger. I was able to shoot 12 consecutive rounds of blazer brass through one 12-14 mm hole at 5 yards in a training session and the trainer wanted to try the “Turkish Glock” after that. Made me feel really good about my choice for the training session. For people who don’t like foreign made products, they need to watch Milton Friedman’s video on why capitalism is beautiful. I don’t have to agree with the religious and political beliefs of hundreds of people who come together to make one pencil for me to use. I pay them for their service. That is what civilized humans do.
I bought a standard TP9SF about 6 or 7 years ago after seeing Mrgunsngear’s 1,000 round review. It was my first semi auto handgun. Loved it since the first mag. Since then I’ve also bought a Mete SFX, custom Boba Fett Mete SFX by BlownDeadline cerakote, and my EDC Mete MC9. They’re awesome guns, love them to death. Great content as always, much love from Texas!
My 1st pistol purchase was the Mete SFx with FDE frame. Basically, it was the trigger (reset) that sold me. Feature packed and at the price, it's a phenominal deal and an excellent gun. I did upgrade the trigger & the barrel around the time they released the SFx Pro (which I haven''t seen in FDE) which has the flat-faced trigger & the threaded barrel. Obviously, I am about the "goods" and not where it was manufactured. It really IS about excellent quality, reliability, & performance at the price!
I've owned a few different models of Canik and have been very pleased with all of them. The first TP9 series handgun I purchased was a TP9 V2. It was an awesome handgun, but the de cocker was a bit odd, and I didn't understand the reason for it. I have a TP9SF, which is my favorite just because I can shoot it very well. I've had a few Canik made CZ 75 clones that were great quality at a good price as well. I have no issue with Canik's being Turkish made. Same principle as buying a Chinese or Russian SKS. Canik offers a lot for the $$. Thanks for all the great content!
I bought an early TP9 SF elite on a whim, while visiting my local gun store for ammo a few years back. I liked the feel in my hand and that trigger. After a few thousand rounds with no issues, I put away my Gucci Competition Glock and purchased the Rival-S. I also have a Mete SF. All my buddies who threw shade at the Canik are now eating crow. Canik is not only a great value proposition, but a great and dependable firearm.
Shot 3k rounds through a TP9 Elite Combat with a rds and a TP9 S. No issues (2.5k in the EC) but I'm in Germany and the ammo here should be a smidge hotter. If I could change things on it: (I just shot those, none of the latest) It'd be cool to keep the iron rear sight on it when installing a rds. Texture further up, side panels or wrap around backstrap would improve the ergos a bit. It's fine but not like a VP9 grip.
I've had my tp9 elite combat since they came out. Not a single issue, mechanical or otherwise. Solid shooter. Accurate, great trigger, bore axis is a little high but the recoil impulse is great, end of slide cycle puts you right back where you were, given that you've got a good grip on it. Follow up shots are thoughtless. Awesome 👌.
I’ve got three Caniks and think they’re awesome. The Mete SFX is in my bedside table. I carry the MC9 often. The TP9 SF Elite is great. As for being a Turkish gun, I’ll refrain from commenting since I’m typing this on my Chinese made phone
I also grabbed the elite SC an absolutely fell in love with it, shot absolutely lights out accurate for me even at longer ranges with the excellent warren tactical iron sights even with the shorter sight radius. Always ate everything I put through it with no complaints an carried very well. Next on my list is the top elite model with the longer barrel, or maybe one of the executive models if I can find for a decent price!
I love your take on firearms from abroad. Like you, I appreciate the unique and unusual. A lot of the most popular designs that have become staples here are not American in origin - Beretta 92s, Glocks, HK anything, AKs etc... We should be open to appreciate a good design regardless of the origin. After all, variety is the spice of life. Also... Caniks are awesome and I'd take one over a Glock any day and twice on Sundays.
Hi it's Todd again. I love my mete. The trigger is awesome, just like my pdp. Infact they're so close they even have interchangeable magazines, witch I have seen nobody ever mention.
I jumped on when they were still new to the US market back in like 2018-ish and been a fan since. Own two of them at this point and may add a 3rd at some point in the future.
was very hesitant when Canik's hit the market about maintaining a place in the US Market, but they were very aggressive in updating models and listening to the public's comments (Not Glock like). Shot a acquaintance's TP9, and was not dissatisfied. Trigger was good, but hated the optic mounting system where you would lose your rear iron sight. I already have enough striker fired 9mm pistols, and by the time Canik introduced the Mete line, I was no longer in the market for any other striker fired pistols. I too, have gone back to old school DA/SA models, and am trying to determine what one I may use for my CCW.
Nice looking pistols. I still see them at Academy and other places. Theres still that stigma of Turkey and other things people say. Some still not trusting them, but pushing them towards other brands. Glad they have evolved. ♠️🎩🎯🎱🇺🇸🏁🇮🇱🇺🇦🔱🌻💮🌸🌼🏴☠️🏹
My wife and I have found canik to be an enjoyable pistol to shoot and operate. We enjoy sport shooting. What canik offers in an affordable firearm is generally found on higher end pistols. Canik is one of the best values for the money. However when I look at firearms I look for quality, not popular brands. As for feeding issues I’ve had none Feeding issues across the board with all firearms is mostly caused by the operator and their limp wrist hold. lol. Take a bold hold on your firearm. One day your life may depend on it.
I’ve been a fan of Canik since the TP9 SFX. I’ve only shot them so far. I’m currently waiting to shoot the Rival-S to decide on purchasing the Rival or Rival-S. I’m confident that either would not disappoint.
I have the long barrel METE SFX. Good for target shooting but not good for carry. Trigger is too light for carry. I find full size SAR 9 better for every day use. Thumb safety a big plus-truck gun. Grip on SAR 9 is perfect. HK copy. No way I’d ever use any METE gun inside the waist band😱😵💫😨
I've never bought a gun, I was looking for guns to use in the computer game I was trying to make 7 years ago and I became a Canik fanatic who only touched them at trade shows. Mete SF is my favorite platform to modify.
I have an SF and a DA. I just don't love them. But they are fine firearms. I generally prefer SA/DA hammer fired guns. I'm wearing a Beretta 92X Compact at the moment.
I've liked what I've seen from them. Just... honestly don't fit me super well. Same way all the Walther pistols don't quite fit me. But reliability and accuracy wise they've held up, phenomenal value guns.
The Canik Mete Compact is a pistol that I really wanted to hate but couldn't. Yeah, it's cheap. It's made in Turkey. But then you shoot it. That trigger.. And the accuracy! That damn little gun makes me look like a superstar. But I won't buy it. I eventually will though.
you are probably watching this on a IPhone or IPad..China is not a bastion of freedom, yet gun owners are the first to yell about Turkey..please, spare me..,enjoy the darn gun…period
No. I'm a gentleman, so I'm inclined to overlook people's minor faults. Your logic is disturbing and shortsighted. However, I do note whom I associate with and with whom I do business with. Justifying being cheap and greedy by saying politics and ethics don't matter is actually worse than being the original offender. It's saying you can be bought and sold like anything else.
The MC9…I got super excited by all the reviews and I finally got one, but it had many issues…failure to reach full battery, bullets nose diving, light primer strikes…way too many issues and unreliable…
For whatever reason concerning firearms the country of origin never really influenced whether I get it or not. Is it good (reliable, accurate, etc) ? Are mags / parts available?. I'm pretty sure a bunch of people knock these guns (not just Canik but co. like them) because they get out-shot by people owning them vs they're $7 -800 to 1k +guns. That and the others who play follow the leader on the web if you get me. Tell me people don't bad mouth PSA and they're as American as you can get. Co. like PSA , Canik get me pissed off at big namers especially the pricier ones. Why because they are typically what (base mod) sub $500 . You get extra mags , plates ,bags , holster geeze etc etc then FN , Beretta, you name it gives you 2 mags if you're lucky , charge $100-300 more for the rest.

I jumped on the elite SC only knowing that it was one of the cheapest carry size pistols with a red dot cut ! And haven't been disappointed
Canik full sized in a 40s&w. Ill be first in line for one! Canik you listening??????
Fantastic video thank you for sharing. Unfortunately we don't have one. They are definitely quality firearms.
Thank you for sharing your videos 👌🙏

Early supporter of Canik. beginning with the tp9sf. Got that model because of Yankee Marshal video against the SA.
I was as early TP9 SA buyer. Great gun that I gifted to a family member after getting my PDP. Appreciate your real talk outro.
Recent Canik adopter here.. the Rival and Mete SF. Great guns making me rethink my CZs and Glocks..
Glock never really left the 1990s, Modern CZ rides on the reputation of the orignal CZ which wsa a different comapny.

i have the canik mete sfx and I love it, great trigger and it fits nice in my hand
Love both my Canik's and will be adding more in the future. Bought my TP9 SF Elite S in 2018 and Mete SFX in 2022

I got the tp9 elite sc and was super impressed by the trigger out of the box thinking about getting the mete or possibly the rival
And the Rival includes all the i.provements of the Mete generation
The more gun options, the better!
MKE is the Turkish government owned factory system. A little google-fu can sort the various factories into government and private.
