      @@momoneylessproblems9183 lol, if you believe Elon musk comments, you’d think he started PayPal and Tesla rather than been kicked out of X then a new ceo making the company Revenue then PayPal buying it, then him getting fired from PayPal for making silly decisions like changing servers from Linux to windows, then EBay buying PayPal. Elon is a story of failing upwards until you have enough f$&k you money to enter an industry with high barriers to entry and government subsidies.

    The humanoid robot sector is exciting to me as a small farmer and butcher. Small businesses like mine will embrace them. I was really expecting $50k for the Tesla Optimus robot. At the recent oft quoted $20k I will take three if they can help me on my farm and butchershop - even with fairly simple tasks to start with.
    My ideal would be a little more capable than the Tesla Optimus or Sanctuary AI Phoenix. An AgBot version. A little faster, say five miles per hour with a load. A little stronger, lift 400 lbs and carry 200 lbs up the mountain, able to roll & flip a 1,600 lb bale of hay. These are things I do an it needs to at least keep up with me.
    Able to operate without internet connection is key. Rural reality.
    Power lasts for atleast five hours but ideally 10 hours and charges in less than an hour. Or an exchangeable battery like power tools.
    Able to work day or night. Nice weather, rain, snow, sleet and wind. Able to withstand water, mud, freezing (-50°F), and getting knocked around - real world rugged.
    Able to use human tools like tractor, chainsaw, brush cutter, loppers, shovel, knives, rake, hoe, sorting board, etc. Pickup trash, put out hay, move lumber, check fence line, carry fence posts, check waterers, open and close gates, mow brush, clear fence lines, sort pigs, dehair a hog, skin a ham, debone, vacuum pack meat, labels on packages, carry boxes...
    In other words my basic daily farm, construction, forestry and butchershop tasks in my small business.
    At $20k each I will take three humanoid AI humanoid robots for my farm, butchershop & forest. Robots with pitch forks, knives and chainsaws… What could go wrong?

      History has shown that the action becomes the robot. You don’t have a robot pushing a vacuum but a robot vacuum called roomba. You don’t have a robot driving a car, the car is the robot a self driving car. You won’t have a robot driving a tractor but robotic tractor or a robotic hay flipper. A robotic forklift.

      @@justtestingonce You're correct. Walter your tools such as tractors etc are mostly likely to be the automated ones instead of an automated person anytime soon.

      @@justtestingonce I'm sure at its full potential, folks will use them to vacuum, cook, clean etc. More cost effective than buy a bunch of different types of robots for singular tasks.

    • @pubwvj
      @pubwvj ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@justtestingonce yes, for specific functions which is how it has been in the past. The point of AI is this will let us have generalist robots instead of specialists. I do not need a robot vacuum. Too small a task. Likewise I do not need a hay-putting-out robot. Again it is too small a task. What I do need is robots that can do many simple tasks. Huge farms do need specialist robots that they can dedicate to a task but for small farms, butchershop, foresters we need generalist tools that can do many things and it is worth trading off some efficiency.

    Robots don't need to be human-like (humanoid) in order to be useful.
    I hope Figure (and other similar companies) design their robots in a way that users don't (even subconsciously) treat their robots like humans.
