Oscar shocked the world, when he failed to outwit his own coffin, which he fitted like a biscuit, it surrounded him in a most intellectual manner, and managed to muffle his cries for a velvet world, and a cream truffle.
There is one and only satirist, Oscar Wilde. World would have been a duller place without him. My favorite quote is "Marriage is triumph of imagination over intellegence"
The only way to improve this film would be to include my favorite lines - from Part III of "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" - and to have Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) read them: "And the wild regrets, and the bloody sweats,/None knew so well as I: For he who lives more lives than one/More deaths than one must die."
He was from a Protestant family but was tempted by the "wiles of the scarlet woman" as he called the Catholic Church, and also greatly admired Pope Leo XIII whom he managed to get an audience with shortly before he died, at which time his friend who brought a priest in claimed he converted to the religion.
i am so very sorry for the pain your grandfather's have left you to cope with . there is nothing else i can add to this . if my criticism adds to it , then it is only because i too have suffered an almost similar fate . what comes back to me most is when he said " hearts where made to be broken , for how else, but through a broken heart , can , our lord Christ enter in , and cleanse our souls from sin "
what a character in a book says doesn't represent the author's own opinions, some of the quotes are from a Dorian Grey character that Oscar said doesn't represent his personalty but what others thinks that it is his personalty.
just listen to these evil people going dizzy over Oscar Wilde . even when he Oscar Wilde , states out of these actors mouths, and they are actor's , posing to a camera for their own financial benefit, how " wonderful", the evil monster was . going as far to say that repentance , is out of date . and wickedness a myth .

A fine tribute to a fine man!
Bill Hughes is a genius to have directed this and put this amazing ensemble of actors and performers together - a modern classic.

The greatest satire poet the world has known. Being irish of course helps

He flirted with the idea of converting most of his life but did not until he was on his deathbed.
@Spycoopsny. He was cathloic first. Then prodastant. Then changed again. He died a cathloic
@spycoopsnj I believe he converted to Catholicism later in life...

Why do they call actresses actor?? Actor is male, actress is female therefore we are abnegating the feminine.
Silly. He's dead. No more B-Days.
