I so appreciate the reader. I love the slow pace and elocutions. Also, getting this treasure of a book for free read to me was so fabulous. I was an avid reader but, my eyes no longer. Thank you.
Beautifully written and read... there will always be critics and neigh sayers, jealous fools who have utterly no claim to the purpose of their lives... some indeed are riding roughshod in the "comments" below....
I really love Oscar Wilde. Frank Harris was his friend. Oscar Wilde was highly intelligent, educated, exceptionally talented and a true artist. Really upsetting what happened to him. I read that in the last days of Oscar Wilde they said that looking into his eyes was like looking into an abyss of sorrow he would never be happy again.
The masses cannot deal with art or living a life appreciating true beauty. They are bitter snd if they have their way artists and truly beautiful souls must suffer
@ Appreciate your help with my grammar and I am also now well aware that you are fully aware of what I’m saying in my comment here which tells me plenty. Best wishes from Liverpool.☘️👍⚽️
Really appreciate your time thank you very much enjoyed learning about Oscar Wilde,,going to enjoy other audiobooks that he accomplished God rest his Soul,,hope he’s aware that he’s loved..
Agree SO sick of these people getting someone's unpaid time 11 hrs here, then complaining about. Even worse this is done very well in my opinion. People are so damn selfish these days. Really sick of it!

This is a wonderful presentation of a very interesting book about this literary figure. I imagine that younger people are amazed at being exposed to a time when many behaviors that are now readily accepted as part of the fabric of life could land someone in prison! And in the scope of history, Wilde lived not very long ago!
So very digusted & angry seeing these posts from people getting Free audiobooks. They have the audacity to complain about them if you don't like Go Buy The Book Yourself! Or better yet You volunteer your time to read an 11 hr book for nothing other than doing a much needed, very kind & noble service for those who can't afford audio books. Let's see how great you do, no you people just take time to post nasty, bitchy, negative remarks. Takes them maybe all of 5 min of their precious selfish little lives. Doing something for Free! Never!Everyone of these Librovox books are done by Volunteers! You want actors or done better? Go Pay For It. I say Thank You from those of us that appreciate your hard work & dedication of your own Unpaid time. If you’d been around when this platform began and read their version of guidelines back then you’d perhaps understand and if you enjoy paying for what’s advertised as free which simply coaxes us all too pay too I pity you. No one’s criticising you so take an idea from your own comment and enjoy it for what it is but please allow others their say . Best wishes.📚👏
#Chapter 2 begins @ 46:40 mins The derty bugger! Such few views is rather a shock but with the appalling audio background mess it`s most understandable...
An amazing account, unfortunately the narrator does not do this great work any justice. Read dispassionate, monotonous and with hardly any speed and conviction. What a pity.
@@AuntClara0911 If you're heart is not really in it, do something else rather than putting an uninterested voice across a great book, ruining it forever. Go and donate your time at like readings.... Just a suggestion?

Superbly read in correct English, some people do not appreciate the language when it is beautifully expressed
At last someone I can listen to .....read beautifully with proper english......brilliant book read impeccably.....so well done!!
Abolum beautiful narration indeed.
Mr. Geeson's elocution is phenomenal.....
Play it at speed 1.25 and it sounds more natural and expressive :)
Word. Thanks so much for this.
Yes, that works much better. Narrator was loving his voice too much to give AF.
@@lobsterwhisperer7932 He did a wonderful job, and he did it for free. I for one am grateful.

It is lovely! Really helpful.
Excellent reader!
The reader is wonderful.
I found this well done; pray Oscar and Frank in heaven.
Tap screen and then tap little round icon in upper right, on the right. Change speed to 1.5. MUCH better
Martin Geeson, the Rembrandt of Readers!
WadiFok I agree! I enjoy listening to Martin!!
Or perhaps the height of haughty...
The terrace terror of chanting cheers!
Thanks so much
Martin Gleeson is a STUD !!! the gold standard of narration 😊😅
Why is chapter 14 repeated?
"It's the wallpaper! The hideous yellow wallpaper."
Either that wallpaper goes, or I do.
Something like that.
The wallpaper and I are in a duel to the death .... one of us will have to go.

33:00 for my own reference
Fun fact: this reader is in fact the father of Alan Partridge...
tragic....reminds me of freddie mercury
What on earth is the connection, I see nothing whatsoever other than both being gays.
Oscar Wilde's old age ...... at 46 ...... OMG.
I really wish audio readers would JUST READ not ACT
My eyes only glazed over when Jesus was brought up.
uts ive
Harris was a bigger liar than wilde .
Hah! Thanks for the view kid...
