I think the fight mostly comes down to arsenal and haxs/abilities.
I am not saying Spongebob FTW or Gumball FTW. I am just saying that it might (key word MIGHT) be at least a LITTLE closer than some people think.
Stats wouldn't matter too much if at all in this fight and here's why in my opinion.
Strength:Considering their regeneration, little to no progress would be made with Spongebob hurting Gumball at best.
Durability:Both have ways to theoretically one shot each other, so durability doesn't matter.
Speed:While I think speed might be useful, I doubt (key word DOUBT that it would be useful in determining the victor, or be a very key factor in doing so.)
This is in my opinion, so if I have anything wrong, I don't want angry people complaining to me about it in the comments.
That makes sense since SpongeBob is pretty much immortal.

The connections are that they're both characters from shows that revolve around them going on zany antics with they're best friends (Patrick and Darwin) and both have a cranky neighbor that gets mad at them when they cause trouble (Squidward and Mr.Robinson,respectively) and both fight the main villain that has one eye(Plankton and Rob) and both are highly succesfull animated shows for they're respective companies (Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network,respectively.(Though Spongebob is still going to this day while Gumball has ended on it's 6th season)).

Gumball has NEVER used the super Sayian form at all he just transforms and that’s it heck That dosent even beat SpongeBob, and what can spongebob do? Oh you know erase his universe, change the plot, scale to Patrick who ran to the sun back in forth in a few seconds, is basically immortal, can change history with the page, can write anything with the pencil, survive getting erased from existence, scales to squidward who ran in a void, has a healing factor, etc
