Cian's a natural leader and leads by example, doesn't often get involved in any off the ball bs, and when that match was right in the crux he was a massive ingredient in ripping the momentum Limericks way and keeping it there with some inspiring plays. All that after a long absence, recovering from injury and having to also step in and carry the captaincy on his shoulders in a historical bid for 4 in a row All Ireland final... he made it look like it was nothing at all to him, phenomenal performance all things considered.
Tom Morrissey should be hurler of the year. Limerick would have been knocked out in munster without him. Gillane was average enough until the munster final. Morrissey was excellent all season for limerick. He left everything on the pitch for them
@ClannCholmain Hayes and odonovan were both brilliant when limerick were under performing a bit in munster but morrissey was at full tilt all championship
Gillane was no more average enough, his link up play with Flanagan all season not least for the goal v Cork got the win that kept the 4 in a row dream alive when it looked like they might not even get out of Munster. He's been brilliant all season
@Kevinjj1991 morrissey all day long. Gillane was only OK by his standards v cork, certainly not hurler of the year form. He was brilliant from the munster final onwards but morrissey was consistently brilliant for limerick all year, every game. I have nothin against gillane either, I just think morrissey deserves it
It’s been a great show all year gents fair play. Limerick are outstanding champions and look imperious. Fierce disappointed about our performance on Sunday. I think it’s slightly amusing to hear all the Munster snobs kicking us when we’re down. Our record against Kiely’s Limerick is 3-2. Limerick destroyed Cork a couple of years ago and have spanked everyone in Munster. We haven’t been able to put in a 70 minute performance all year and Limerick made us pay when we vulnerable in the 2nd half. No excuses.
As a kilkenny man I think we get incredibly soft treatment from the media. If galway or cork had been us yesterday there would have been talk of '' bottling it ''.
Everyone was in the ground when the Jubilee team was presented on Sunday. The spectators weren't 'in the pub'. They were drinking & eating in the stadium concourses. You can't make them sit in their seats - it has nothing to do with whether there is a minor game on or not.
Its mad how KK are getting a free pass for capitulating in the 2nd half and throwing in the towel. If it was any other county, they would be castigated. This was an All Ireland final, not a league match. "Kilkenny are never beaten" was the narrative before the game😅
Clare would not have lived with Limerick yesterday simply because Limerick converted almost every chance and Clare are so wasteful. Limerick we’re wasteful all year as well of course- and Clare are the only team that generates more chances that Limerick.
The hand-pass/throw narrative is annoying. TV has the effect of making everything look more benign. What looks like a 'throw' on tv looks like a very obvious handpass at the game. Likewise that Byrnes yellow card - that looked worse at the game. Watching live it's a definite yellow card. On tv afterwards it didn't look as bad. Same with Will O'Donoghue's yellow card. Looked worse at the game.
Adam Hogan should be absolutely nailed down for Young Hurler of the Year. He was in Clare’s top 3 performers this year, so consistent and did some unbelievable jobs on top forwards. Fair harsh to blow him out of the conversation like Skehill did. Rodgers and Hogan should both be above O’Neill.
What did they win? (Apart from the world cup on April 29😂) o Neill scored big in games that were eventually won where he may have been the turning point
@@GearoidHowley he'd walk on the Clare team and have more minutes then, Clare are just hot air making noise around Munster with no end product... bitter pill to swallow I'm sure but if Clare tidied up their game, actually win when it counts and cut out the diving these young lads might get a sympathy vote
@@patrickcoleman7997 i disagree. I think he did enough in the time he had. His defensive presence in totally underrated and without him the Galway and KK games would have been razor close in my opinion.
@@hughwalsh8914 again I totally agree with you, regards the Galway and Kilkenny games , but not enough championship time , if he had played one more game he would get it
Fair play to Paul. A sound honest man. No sour grapes.

Top class show and insight lads , Murphy being a Kilkenny man to the core , he was very fair in his opinions on the game
Thanks for a great season, lads !!!!
Great pod guys - love the analysis and humour!
No love for Tom Morrissey for hurler of the year? Very consistant apart from yesterday.
Brilliant pod guys hon the treaty. Dreamland
Excellent pods all year lads, ye are all a sound bunch. Will ye be doing any bonus pods throughout the club championship?
Answered in the pod. I jumped the gun. Cheers lads.
Great podcast love listening to the podcast all year from here in Chicago won a few senior championship in hurling in the 80s
With what team
You are amazing
They are a great There is, So much competition in munster alone, Limerick have a much more difficult path to the final than Kilkenny ever have.
Tom Morrissey should be hurler of the year. Limerick would have been knocked out in munster without him. Gillane was average enough until the munster final. Morrissey was excellent all season for limerick. He left everything on the pitch for them
Go back again and watch again, Kyle Hayes was the man who got Limerick out of Munster.

What a great job these lads do.
Maybe a minor all star game before the senior final would be a good solution.
Great podcast
Fair. Play. Lads. Good podcast.
Have a Crappy Quiz end of season special - OTB Hurling Pod Team v OTB Football Pod Team.

Mrs skehill..
Makes lovely scones
Skills competition pre match, Conor Whelan , Kelly, Etc. Sidelines, frees , goals etc
But but "Kilkenny are never bet"
Lads get an interview from some of other county players eg Westmeath Wexford Laois, or Antrim, and their thoughts on the year so far so on
I feel like Kilkenny regressed from last year.
When TJ goes they will have a serious gap to fill in their team.

Did he just say that TJ Reid has 1 point from play in his last 4 all ireland finals? That can't be right 😳

should the bars above the goal be narrowed????????
I prefer the expression 'outplayed' rather than 'crushed' that's a bit lazy 😉

Is Eoin Cody eligible for Young Hurler of the Year? He's still only 22
We’ve been debating this since, turns 23 soon, but finished championship at 22…
What happend will beard

couldnt see on tv, free out for mike casey on cody when ball went in between two of em eoin was straight through. sketchy?
Cody tripped Mike Casey. Casey was in front of Cody, their feet tangled, Casey fell to the ground. Very obvious free.
Limrick are a great team but they can thank the referee against cork and clare next year they might not be so lucky depending on the referee
Terribly bitter comment
Limerick are outstanding
