    The Score that Kilkenny got would have won every All Ireland Cody has already won bar one, which would still be a draw. And they still lost. That's how incredible this Limerick team are.

    Great performance by LK and great game from KK too! Game was played in a very sporting manner, clean game ref did well. No cards. Hegarty is awesome, TJ is a genius. We are soo lucky to have so many great hurlers in many counties at the moment. We are spoiled with such great athletes playing the greatest game in the world! Long may it continue throughout the hurling counties.

      Did you see the side of Casey’s head after the game, it looked as if he was attacked with a brier hook.
      Good thing his helmet stood up better than Hayes’s one.

      @@ClannCholmain You're daft John...but sure ye probably know dat...? LOL" Every neutral and honest Limerick man knows, Limerick got here by playing on the edge and over the edge...example, last year's All Ireland final..." Yee should have ended with 13 men, but everyone had a soft spot for Limerick, but not anymore, and the Ref was from Cork, maybe JP winked at him at the golf tourney...🤣

      @@sherp2u1 assuming you’re a kk fan, well you should then be proud Limerick learnt how to play on the edge from the masters, Cody et al.
      You don’t then get to complain when everyone else is doing it, or maybe you do if you’re now claiming to be the victim of your own tactics?
      But I do still remember all the crying and stuff after the 2019 final by Cody et al for weeks in the media, because they were defending what was also only another deliberate head injury.
      But something and something about knowing you’re Daft.ie you say?

    Dec Hannon scored 1-13 in a munster club game against Newtownshandrum as a 16 year old. Where he differs from a lot of massively talented and touted underage players is that as a senior player he always uses his ability in a way that helps the team most effectively. Never showboating or trying to be jonny hollywood. That's why he's a great leader and captain, and very similar in those ways to Brendan Maher, I think.

    Found some of the player ratings very harsh on Kilkenny... Limerick seemed to dominate but the score was very close and at the end of the day that is what it comes down to.

    I'd love to see Cathal ó Neil get young hurler of the year as a limerick man but I think Corks Ciarán Joyce should get it. A real find for Cork and fitted into senior level so well after a brilliant underage career

    FairPlay to Limerick. Proud Limerick man here, but hats off to Kilkenny for they again showed that never say no attitude. What a game, one for the ages.
    And lads, thank ye for a great season of Podcasts. I truly appreciate the time ye put in here. Yer analysis and honest assessment was second to none.

    Killkenny missed a few sitters of points at crucial times in the game...a little more experience there in their forwards, and they could have drawn or won the game...another goal definitely would have probably shaken and rattled Limerick, and put them off their game plan...the problem next year for Killkenny will be their older players will be way past their peak or retiring, and their young guns don't have enough experience and confidence at this level yet...The same conundrum Galway will be facing as well...And if Cody goes, there will be the inevitable rebuilding and transitioning away from the Cody era and philosophy...I think he wanted this final to be his swan song...!

    Skehill is right about umpires , they are shocking, players are putting too much into their training and giving up too much in their lives to be deprived of a win by poor umpire decisions.
    Are they trained are they sight tested are they neutral ??? Every year we see games won or lost on poor decisions from umpires especially in ground where Hawkeye is unavailable.
    Even in the under twenty final there was another poor decision this year. Friends of the referee in the name of God lads this has to stop. Hurling has moved way beyond this nonsense.

    • @sherp2u1
      @sherp2u1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not delighted but, not as mad and emotional as other years, a younger Cody would have throttled that ref at the end of the game, and in my mind, he was fully justified and I'm from Galway...LOL"

      @peadarocoileain902 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sherp2u1 Man, you say you talk sense, but this throttle the ref stuff is pure nonsense. If any Limerick fan or official had tried to throttle Allan Kelly or the linesmen, in 2019, he would rightly have been banned from going into any GAA Pitch and rightly disowned by his own County, as well as facing Court action like those 'Louth Supporters' did in 2010. I have watched the match back on a number of occasions and KK got marginal calls as well as Limerick did. Overall, that Referee did a fine job and favoured neither side. Blaming Refs, especially by us faceless Keyboard warriors, is just pure loser nonsense.
      There has been suggestions in the past that Brian Cody had at least got one ref stopped from refereeing matches in which KK were involved and even that he influenced who was appointed to ref this Final. Frankly, I just think all that rubbish is just pure Pub Talk and totally out of touch with reality.
      Kilkenny supporters and massive hurling men, with whom I have been friendly for years, were the first to congratulate me by Whatsapp, after the game and none of them in any way suggested that KK were hard done by. But KK men seldom do that anyway. They go back and prepare for next year and allow the winners their time in the sun, as Cregan said losing sides should do, back in 1980, when Galway edged our boys.
