Also the art drew me in. Just like early magic. The artwork is incredible

I realize that Erik's Curiosa is a small company and that Sorcery is a passion project, but I think it would only benefit the game to have "official" tournament rules and multiplayer rules. While the focus is currently on Arthurian Legends, I hope that after release Erik's Curiosa starts to mention the next releases or provide a "road map" of what is to come.

I got into sorcery for the very fact that it was not created to be competitive

Most card games are the same old thing every time over and over again. I love that sorcery is different and has those moments you won’t forget. each game i’ve played has been unique and had moments that probably won’t happen again and I love that. this game is a breath of fresh air in the TCG world.

Mark Rosewater did a whole podcast essentially saying the same thing Erik did: even competitive games need variance. Now, obviously, phrasing it from an egocentric POV comes off very poorly but if you don't want variance, why even play card games? Just go compete in chess.

My username should hint at my stance on the casual-competitive spectrum. To maintain a game's forward momentum, I believe a competitive scene is crucial. Some might argue cards like Chaos Twister and Erik's Curiosa are unfit for tournaments, but I disagree. Anticipating such cards actually highlights the strategic prowess competitive players must possess.

Exactly. I am all for folks playing casually and never entering an event, but to grow the game, a competitive scene is crucial for exposure.

I'm a casual player that felt abandoned by magic so I gave it up and came here. The old style artwork were my favorite magic cards and this games promise to keep it's art high quality and human made is amazing for me. A competitive scene will probably need to have rules and ban lists that are wildly different than casual play.

Not necessarily. There have been several large events relative to play size in the US at this point and they have successfully addressed Chaos Twister, Erik’s Curiosa, etc. Of course there could be new cards that will throw more kinks into maintaining the competitive side, but the Sorcery community is quite innovative.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to go to any events but I'm sure the creative people that play this creative game are able to handle the mechanics very well.
From what I've seen from the pro competitive people on the discord is they'd like to limit or control the amount of randomness and with future sets I'm sure there will be more random.
But as I stated I'm not in it for the competitive aspects, I enjoy games I never win. I just want to see some random quirky unique thing occur or an outlandish one in a million combo get pulled off.

Everyone might hate me for this. I also want to play on my iPad. I always have my Ipad with me.
