@@blairmarshall544 well as I've followed a range of analysts what I've told people I personally talk to has been more accurate.
Now if you had done the same, you would have realised why I take Clarke with a big pinch of salt.
Your point is plain silly, I am not the one on Sky TV getting praised, without people asking him why he made the mistakes he did.
One of them was not understanding the significant time a regrouping would require after units around Kyiv took heavy losses.
People like him, but he simply has not made insightful predictions.

It won't matter after Russia establishes a firm grasp of the territories it has re-inducted, once Ukraine joins NATO, it becomes a matter of nuclear war between the United States and Russia, and now, to be honest, I feel like the United States government is not very keen on Ukraine being part of NATO because I feel that the U.S government knows that Ukraine is way too quick to start a war.
Once Ukraine is part of NATO the conventional aspect of warfare is GONE, and it is then replaced with nuclear missiles.

I mostly agree, but his comment about the reasons Britain is a 'whipping boy' or a target for blame for Putin is wrong. Putin is leveraging the colonial history of Britain, which many ex-colonies (and other nations) recognise from their experiences of the empire. Putin repeats things continually (lies as well as convenient facts) and reinforces the reality of what Britain represents to many in the world.

As for war crimes: early on Russia could possibly claim that apartments and other civilian structures that were hit might be excused as navigation/propulsion error (present in all guided munitions). Domestic politics requires clarity and honesty. Foreign policy requires subtlety and circumspection.
When a prime minister or president says to a foreign leader, “if you do X, we will do Y”, they are asking for trouble. When the time comes, Y may no longer be a practical option. Or there may be a better option available. Intelligence may indicate that it is unnecessary to do Y, because a lesser response will achieve the same result. But, if Y isn’t done, it will be presumed that the prime minister or president was bluffing from the outset.
That is why it is necessary to be non-specific. Biden is generally pretty good at this (surely he has to be good at something). “If Russia uses nuclear weapons, our response will be swift and devastating”. This sends the right message, without foreclosing any options.

Perhaps the reason, in part, Russia always looks at Britain's actions in more detail than most is that Putin may harbor a covert jealousy of the once substantial British Empire & what such a small country was able to achieve on the world stage back in the 19th Century; something he clearly hankers after today especially in terms of geography & global influence.

ATACMS don't compare at all to the heavy long range ballistic and cruise missiles that Russia has been using in massive numbers against Ukraine often targeting civilians. If the US starts shipping large number of Tomahawk land attack missiles to Ukraine then Russia can claim a major escalation. But ATACMS just levels the field a bit.
And it's still a war that Russia started and can end at any point it chooses and must end if it wants to claim any respect for international laws and norms.
