- Video for DC & Warner Bro's soon to be released Supergirl. Utilizing Jerry Goldsmith's theme from the 80's film of the same name. CBS' Supergirl is another installment in the already growing DC superheroes television series universe. Along side Arrow, The Flash and Gotham.

Seriously this looks fucking great. Better than the 84 film, although Helen Slater did play a good supergirl, I think this has far more potential.
Kevin Furey I agree, Helen Slater made a great Supergirl. Too bad she was in a terrible film. She does have a very brief cameo along with Dean Cain in the pilot. I had a chance to watch the leaked pilot and enjoyed it. It is very much in tune with the CW Flash series. I look forward to seeing more. Thanks for watching.

I always wondered why Goldsmith relaxed so much on this theme. He really let the ball drop and roll away from him on this one. I always wondered why. Jerry Goldsmith wrote RUDY, RAMBO, FIRST BLOOD, STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE a.k.a. STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION, ALIENS, THE OMEN, THE WALTONS, STAR TREK: VOYAGER, etc. and etc., with 18 Academy Award nominations besides. I always wondered why he let this opportunity slip and fall. He was obviously...unchallenged here. Why?
Supergirl the movie was so rushed. I like the theme but it feels very dragged.
I don't think it's dragged. There's a live concert orchestra where they played this theme with much gusto and excitement. Just search it on TH-cam. It's more the tempo was slowed down, though Jerry Goldsmith's original version was a little bit faster than this.
I like Helen Slater for Supergirl more, and I miss that film but this show looks awesome
+Tammie Puopolo: I like Helen Slater's Supergirl too, though the 1984 film wasn't very good she was the saving grace. Had that film been better and a success, we may have seen the first big screen superhero team-up back in the 80's, with Slater as Supergirl and Christopher Reeve as Superman. Oh well. What's your opinion of how The CW Network renewed Supergirl for its 2nd season?
I think they"ve done a pretty good job. Especially crossing Supergirl over with the other DC superheroes on the CW.
I can't stand the crappy CGI from today. Supergirl (1984) isn't a good film but not a bad film. I prefer the original to this, although plot holes in that. Jerry Goldsmith music is very, very great.

Never cared for Jerry Goldsmiths version of a "Supergirl Theme".
He's done a lot of great things, but THIS is just not *one* of them.
This just sounds like a bad outtake from STAR TREK: THE MOTION SICKNESS.
