Heroes of Might & Magic 5 Fortress Town Theme Animatic (2005, Ubisoft/Nival) 1080p Animated

An animatic of the fully completed Fortress town set to the town's theme song.
The Fortress is a faction from Heroes of Might and Magic V: Hammers of Fate.
A nation of dwarves, serving the god Arkath from their underground cities, they are fierce defenders of their realm. At the start of the campaign, they are led by King Tolghar.
One of the most notable characters is Wulfstan, the dwarven captain of a remote garrison, and a hero that helps defeat Biara and her demonic minions.
It is the counterpart to the Heroes 3 Rampart and Fortress, Heroes 4 Nature and Chaos, and Heroes 1-2 Sorceress towns.
The content of this video is created with the assets of the game Heroes of Might and Magic V. All assets (models, textures, animations, audio) belong to Ubisoft.

This has to be my favorite town. The music, the design, the faction, all of it is simply epic.
That and Fortresses are a bitch to siege.

The rich live in the middle. The middle class work at the bottom to be close to the lava to heat forges, at the price of discomfort. The poor live at the top, where they are first to be attacked and must walk the furthest to any 'middle' tier jobs.
At least that's my logic.
The more haughty rich tend to either call themselves 'working dwarves' by living lower down then normal, or 'dwarves of the people' by living higher up than normal.

@@Sorain1 Well, all of the "Fancy" buildings are in the middle and all that require skilled labour are in the bottom with regular grunts being recruited up on top...

@@Sorain1well they basically worship fire so the priests gotta be close to it, almost the same with the dragons, all the regular fighters on top for reasons you mentioned, working dwarves also most likely bottom or middle, so i wouldnt say at the cost of any discomfort (fire affinity)

Tolkien created the fantasy setting with elves and dwarves that has since beome the rule. The heroes series gives it some good perspectives but I wish there were more original settings...

Building a city in a crater of a volcano is very risky, I think... The dwarves are always very brave, and they know, how to take care about the volcano :)
