What Rachel said about being prepared for weight gain but ultimately not prepared for her body to simply be *different* is so real. I’m 9 months postpartum and I got back to my pre pregnancy weight pretty quickly, but my body doesn’t look the same and it is really weird and upsetting sometimes. I am feeling so much better than I was a few months ago (part of that is I have started the process of weaning my baby and while I’ve loved breastfeeding it’s helping me feel more like my body is my own) but it’s been a journey! Sending love and strength to anybody struggling with this. It sucks so, so much. Having a baby already made me feel like a radically different person so it was disorienting to also feel like the person I saw in the mirror wasn’t me.
One takeaway I had from this video is that you can still wear the things you liked to wear before you were a mom, but maybe you just need a bigger size (and that’s ok!) you don’t have to start over from scratch to find something you feel good in
Absolutely, it’s very empowering! And it can lead to unexpectedly hilarious results - the other day I looked in the mirror while holding my daughter and cracked up because I was in a black My Chemical Romance t-shirt with a huge skull and she was wearing truly the frilliest and most floral outfit imaginable. We looked ridiculous together 😂❤❤❤
I love how Rachel and Sierra had such different approaches in the closet organization part! Just goes to show you can approach it in so many different ways and revamp your wardrobe in a way that works for you!
Another strategy is, after doing laundry, hang up the clothes in a different section. That way, as you start to wear things your current wardrobe starts being built little by little
I’ve gained like 30 pounds in the past year and a half AND I’m going through a bad breakup so watching this helped me realize I have to actively put some energy into my fashion glow up. Thanks ladies
I have also gained a lot of weight almost 42 pounds (I was underweight and I’m actively losing some weight although it’s hard) and it’s a lot to try and get used to it
Omg this reminds me of a moment I had when I was working in a clothing store. A new mum came in, looking for her first jeans after having her baby and she was so nervous nothing would fit her. So all my colleagues who were there that day helped and we found the perfect Jeans for her in the end 🥺🥰 It was such a Girlhood moment and I'm still happy for her 😂❤️
I literally cried at the intro of this because I have never related to something more, specifically what Rachel said. I’m 4 months PP & have been struggling SO hard with my body image and have been feeling so alone in that feeling. Thank you for this video, you beautiful souls 🩷
❤️ I am sure you know this even if you don’t feel it, but four months is SO SO SOON! I didn’t feel even slightly like myself until 6mo PP, and I’m 9.5 months out now and still don’t feel fully back (although infinitely better than I felt at four months.) You are doing an amazing job! Congratulations mama, sending strength your way!
Same! I'm almost 5 months PP and I've had this like need for my husband to understand what I'm going through and he just can't fully get it because he isn't experiencing it. Hearing other people feel the exact same way as me is so validating!
I am not pregnant nor have any children, but I love how you both spoke about the struggles that no one else really talks about. I appreciate this so much. I loved your guys' outfits and I could tell that you all felt more confident in your new style.
I love the acknowledgement of women’s bodies changing! Besides postpartum changes years ago, at 46 I’m now experiencing perimenopausal changes. Things just fit different! Love you all ❤
I did this last year! Having a baby during the pandemic and then deal with postpartum depression and anxiety was a recipe for disaster when it came to my personal style. I had absolutely lost myself to motherhood and while I love being a mom that’s not what defines me. Being able to get back in the gym when they reopened and taking time to pour into my physical and mental health then actually put on clothes that I was excited to wear made such a huge impact!
Omg girl this sounds like a nightmare. So so so much love to all the mamas who gave birth during the pandemic. You’re doing an amazing job and I love that you have tools to help you feel like yourself again ❤
Im so happy Sierra and Rachel made this video. Im 3 months PP and what once was a source of happiness (my closet) is now a source of dread. Im figuring it out slowly and taking it day by day trying not to be hard on myself. Women are amazing and what our bodies are capable of is incredible.
Hopefully this video helped you to take a little time for yourself to organise a little of your wardrobe so you feel better. This video is so wonderful talking about changes after pregnancy and I wish more people did it so we all cope with it much better. Best of luck in learning to love the beautiful new you.
You are doing a wonderful job! 3mo PP is still so early, it took me double that to start feeling at all like myself and triple that to feel mostly good! Time is so healing. ❤ congrats on your new little bean 😊
One of my favourite things is finding an item of clothing I owned and adored that I outgrew in a larger size in a charity shop! It has happened a couple of times and just 🤩
Hey Sierra ! I am not a mother but I still find this video super relatable. After many changes in my life from a complete career change to a recent break up from a long term relationship I too am on a journey to finding my personal style.
I had the most traumatic year of my life last year and in combination with turning thirty, I’ve felt completely lost in my own body. I feel so seen by this video and I’m so glad you guys thought of this concept, thank you
My last two years were like this and my body is so different now as a result, and I feel the same way. I think this video reaches far past postpartum and it’s amazing
Not going through the postpartum experience, don't know if I ever will, but having the same feelings of a late 20s body change and being up 2 pant sizes from where I was this time last year. It's so hard to be gentle on yourself when you are used to clothes fitting a certain way. I try to remind myself I'm meant to wear the clothes they don't wear me and who cares what the label says ! I am lucky to be in a place where I can afford to buy a few wardrobe updates to ensure I feel happy and comfortable in my body, I know not everyone is able to Thank you for another great video
Yeeees. I feel it guys. I am eight months postpartum and I feel better than I did a few months ago. My belly is shaped differently now, and thats okay, but it definitely took time to get okay with it. My pants and clothes that do still fit from prepregnancy look differently now, and thats been tricky, too. I love this video so much. Much love to you two!
I feel like the lesson here is less about body changes/postpartum and more about just having too much clothing and how overwhelming it is. Less is more!!!
Thank you for showing the whole process of how you guys found pieces to style! I am a college student about to move into her first apartment with VERY limited storage/closet space. The idea of packing has been daunting for me especially since my closet is full of items I don’t wear or don’t fit. Watching how you guys went through your closets and being intentional about what you select or find an outfit formula has been so helpful and motivating. Thank you for your content!!!
I absolutely resonate with Rachel. I had an eating disorder and after pregnancy, the way my stomach fell, devastated me. It's taken years to get used to my new body.
i’m not a mom but this video was so helpful. I went through a pretty traumatic event last year and my body has changed so so much since then… i’ve been struggling with clothes because I tied so much of my identity into them before the change!! I can’t relate more to when Sierra said getting dressed makes her so upset in the mornings. I’m gonna implement the ideas in this video and hopefully startto feel more positive about clothes too :)
i genuinely appreciate these types of videos from you girls, where you're just being so open and raw with everyone. while i haven't had kids, i've been thru a lot of weight fluctuations in the last several years due to medications and other health issues, and at times it's genuinely put me into miserable places because of, like Rachel said, comparing what I used to see with what I see now and not really knowing how to be okay with the fact that i've changed like most people do. hearing you all talk about going through similar things is so refreshing and helpful to me re-framing my thought processes as i go through my own healing journey, so please keep these kinds of videos coming when y'all are able to. You're helping so many people out there, and i just hope that that brings some kind of happiness to each of the beautiful women in the Collective.
This is SO relatable for me. I struggled so much after my son was born. I also went from working full time to being a stay at home mom, so the type of clothes I wanted to wear changed on top of my body changing. The changes to your body that have nothing to do with weight are some of the hardest. And to some extent, you have to grieve the loss of your old body and life even with the joy and excitement of a new baby.
Loved this video girlies. I’m actually 19 months postpartum (sheesh), and I just this summer have started to feel like I’m coming into my own a bit more. My belly hang a bit different now after a c-section. New bumps and curves that I didn’t have before. I don’t think I allowed myself the time/energy/space to explore my wardrobe and was just kind of hanging in there. I’ve been getting more comfortable showing skin again and feeling more confident in what I’m wearing. I did a mini closet clean-out last night, and I’ve been stewing on a dream vibe Pinterest board for quite some time. I’m sick of my default clothes that I choose because they’re cheap, easy, and just fit. Letting myself get staples a little at a time (and thrift them whenever possible). I’m finally starting to feel like I’m close to coming out in the other side! Thanks for this video and making me feel so seen!
(((Hugs))) it does get easier. My children are 22 months apart and adults now. I wore my jeans out of the hospital the first 2 pregnancies but my third pregnancy I gained over 100 lbs (pre-eclampsia) and became lost. I wore maturity clothes for the whole first year after having my last child. When my youngest son was 6 months old, my friend asked me when I was due at the grocery store. Ouch. Eventually, you will find your new style to fit your body. More (((hugs))). 💜💜
I bought that Abercrombie tank in two colors and had to buy the sage green one twice cause it’s just so cute!! Their mens baggy workwear pants are also amazing if you want a slouchy cool girl look. They’ve been so on point lately.
Currently dealing with my body changing during pregnancy and have been pretty down on myself on all clothing so this is inspiring me to treat myself to a shopping trip and reward myself for all the work my body is doing. ❤
I never considered that crop tops would be good for breastfeeding, it makes so much sense though. Really appreciate seeing both of your processes for this, super helpful!
As a 7 week postpartum mom I absolutely loved this video! I have started pinning outfits and it started helping me realize that I have pieces that I can use to recreate. ❤
This inspired me so much. I had 3 kids in 5 years and was anorexic when I got pregnant the first time at 17. I’ve probably gained 60-70 pounds since then and my youngest is 3 now. I’m an adult now and my body is wildly different. I’m not happy with my weight and know I should make more of an effort to exercise but also need to accept that this is where we’re at and that’s ok too
Im only about a minute into this video but I just have to say that you both look beautiful! You look like you’re glowing! Motherhood looks good on you 🩷
“And to think Abercrombie used to scare the **** out of me when I was a teenager” made me laugh😂😂😂 Love this video so much!! I’m 4 months postpartum and love the idea of a capsule wardrobe, will def be implementing this!💕🌸
You might be surprised to find that the Free People straight sizes fit plus size bodies pretty well- especially those looser jumpsuits! I have one of the ones with the more tapered legs and the largest size fits me, a pretty standard 2x/size 20.
I definitely think the weight gain is the least of the changes. The other stuff that you can’t fix without going under the knife is what really hits you
You both looked lovely in your outfits today. Yes, I can remember not fitting into my clothes, I never had hips and butt, but after babies, they never went away!!
This video was so joyful. Thanks to you both for sharing so vulnerably. I think you both made so much progress with finding what you are comfortable with and you look so cute!!!
I loved this video. I'm a mom of 4 and my last is 2 years'old already, but I can see myself in both of you. I'm trying to find joy in my wardrobe but still want to be comfy, and sometimes I am lost, so so lost. Thank you for this video ! ❤
Those outfits were so cute! Always love videos talking about body image but this one especially. Even though I don't have kids, there are still times when my body is different or I don't feel my best in it so it's such a good idea to shopping my wardrobe and see what's working and what's not and maybe try a little capsule wardrobe situation.
Your cat is the most beautiful fluffy creature ever, @rachel. Looking for some inspo on rituals to kindly “reboot” my life after a major change and this was so lovely to watch.
Genetically, some women seem to bounce back (body-wise) pretty quickly after giving birth, but other women never get back to their pre-pregnancy bodies, or take many years to do so. And it's all about your DNA. It's hard not to compare yourself to other moms, especially celebrity moms and people on social media. I never got back to my pre-pregnancy body, but I've come to terms with it and am okay with it now. But as far as feeling like a stranger in my own body, it took me a full year to feel like myself again. Don't feel pressured to quickly return to feeling like your old self again. It will happen when it happens and is different for every woman.
Im post partum over 2 years... and i still feel this way! I dont recognize my body. I need to follow your lead and work to become more comfortable as i am now.
I'm in a different stage of life...my kid just turned 18, and I'm going through early menopause. But I can so identify with having struggles with wardrobe and body image. This video has inspired me to make plans to go through my closet also.
I love this so much! I really liked that you did the Pinterest boards and pulled items you already had and added a few things you needed, it's so much more attainable! I also love that Sierra's back!
OMG, when you two were talking about Jessie in the Parent Trap, and how her name was “Chessy” both my daughter and me looked at each other in bewilderment!!!!!! We had to look it up and then we had to watch the movie! We don’t know how we missed that the 30 + times we’ve seen that movie!!!!😂. We just love watching you guys!😊
*This video helped me after having four kids close in age, and after a huge weight loss and loose skin. My hips have gotten so wide... Anyway, my weight won't go down after having baby number four, and it is so irritating. Because I am not getting my skin removal surgery before that happens, the problem is it might never happen... But I have just started buying clothes that fit my body now. ❤*
My third PP style journey relates to this… I felt like I didn’t know how to dress myself at all. Then I discovered Kibbe body types, and also discovered the magical world of comfy dresses. I wear nothing else now and have never felt more confident!
Crop tops and high waisted loose shorts with big pockets got me through the first 3 months postpartum. I didn't have to look at my new shape until I was more used to it, easy breastfeeding access, and big pockets to carry all the necessaries. Peak postpartum uniform. 👏
You both just had babies. It takes time but you will feel better soon. Try to think of those beautiful babies you just brought into the world. Good luck ladies
When you clean out your closet or buy new clothes, turn the hanger backwards when you hang it up. Use your hair straitener as a micro-iron. Works great on hems! I hung up my bra license.
I love this video!! It’s interesting because I’m not newly postpartum but I have recently been dealing with health issues that have not only made me gain weight but altered my body proportions and I am feeling not like myself and it’s very hard for me mentally and I also didn’t want to financially buy a whole wardrobe so this was perfect thank you so much for this video!!!
I have exactly the same and i had a really bad day today because of it. Gained a lot of weight and also my body proportions changed. It's so hard to deal with if you can't do anything about it, because it's caused by health problems.
Great video girls! You inspired me to go through my closet and wear a button up 😂 I thought of a cute outfit idea that I already have as I watch watching this video and I’m excited to try it today ! Keep up the great work 🩵
My closet is a mess right now... but you guys gave me motivation to figure out some fun easy outfit formulas! It's so hard when our bodies are constantly changing....
Not post pregnancy here but post hysterectomy and menopausal. Gained 50 pounds in the last year due to hormone pills and I feel your pain. On the struggle bus here. Dressing my body now is so frustrating. Definitely need a style that I can feel comfortable in until my body gets back to what I’m used to. Loving these ideas. Btw you both look beautiful and being kick ass moms looks good on you both!!! ♥️
Just like your new baby is going to grow and change. Our new mom bodies are going to continue to change so much. Freshly into post partum, hormones changing and changing our bodies, ending breastfeeding and that changing your body. It's a lot.
I just had my son 11 days ago. I’m already back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I definitely look different 😂. For me personally, with what my son and I went through at the birth, I get an enormous sense of pride seeing my postpartum body. It’s different and there’s stretch marks galore, but it all got me my perfect baby boy. I’m still wearing comfy bottoms because I had a c-section but I’m excited to see what the future holds!
I’m almost 1 year postpartum and I’m at the point where I just wear what fits me and doesn’t show off my body at all. My body has changed so much and for some reason I just expected my body to return to “normal” like a lot of my friends have (or seem to have). My son has a lot of special needs and needs a bunch of therapy every week so I basically wear large t shirts and running shorts or leggings everyday. Even at work i wear leggings and oversize shirts or hoodies. I’ve bought some jeans but I’ve also shrunk a little since then. So I finally took the plunge and bought some new jeans, in my current size, and I got some cuter versions of larger or oversize t shirts. I’m basically sticking to my easy non fitted style but I’m going to dress it up with jeans. I’m way more comfortable in my body now, but I’m also still uncomfortable with some of the changes (specially my boobs and the not as tight skin around my stomach and back). I know eventually I’ll find a bra that fits and makes me feel good but until then, I’ll just work with what I have and what I’m comfy with. Which may be sports bras and that’s okay!
I’m right in the same postpartum spot as you guys ❤ I had my baby April 15th. So I’m a little over 3 months postpartum. I’m definitely going through the problem of not feeling like myself or feeling good in my skin. So I need to try this or something similar ❤ love you guys!
Given the vibe that you're gravitating to, I would recommend Known Supply. They are a relatively-affordable ethical clothing company with a lot of cute simple earthy basics. I have a pair of their Candace overalls and they're so comfy so cute.
After this video im doing all of this !! Pinterest board Staples i feel confident in Not trying to wear clothes that are to tight !! 2nd time postpartum and i needed this video!
29:23 lmaooooo I feel like the demo of how to breastfeed in the overalls was for me!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Either way, loooooved this. Currently have a 15 month old and pregnant with #2 and definitely hating my wardrobe. Thank you for giving me the motivation to sort through my closet this weekend and get it together! Love all of you 💖
I loved seeing you two together, your vibe is so fun!! I related to this video in a different way, as though im not a mom, i went from being a backpacker around Europe for the last 2 years to now all of a sudden being back in the corporate world and wearing business casual. I own like 20 pieces of clothing from traveling so much, and have had purchase a few work trousers and formal tops to make do at work in the meantime.. but i related so much with not knowing my personal style and crying at the clothes I own. I went from leggings and a t-shirt, to now trousers and turtle necks. Plus I have changed so much as a person in the last few years, and my size has changed too, so these clothes ive carried with me across the Atlantic and back are no longer working for me, and im struggling on trying to find outfits i feel good in. So thank you for the openness and vulnerability in this video, very much connected with you two even if we're at different stages in life ❤
I would love to know if anyone has tips on finding outfits on Pinterest. It seems like all I ever find our ads for things that are not related and it’s so frustrating and sidenote the little insert after you showed Rachel‘s shirt was so stinking cute and I’m here for it!❤
I never felt worse in my body than being pp. I went through it 3 times, the first was definitely the worst because I wasnt prepared for such drastic changes. For the second two, I just immediately sized up so I would feel more comfortable. It's hard! Much ❤
I love your videos so much, I've been looking forward to this one since its been mentioned on the vlog channel. Just a small suggestion would be to say the trigger warning in audible form as well, because for blind or visually impaired people or even just someone looking away from the screen for a moment it is very easy to miss 😅🥰But I love how you talk about these difficukt topics and the stuff that so often doesn't get talked about when it comes to post partum, and all things motherhood
What Rachel said about being prepared for weight gain but ultimately not prepared for her body to simply be *different* is so real. Had to find this comment after Sierra’s new vlog came out 😂
This is the video that officially made me love Rachel. She is so real and I'm here for it. You guys are both just the best.
same
this is so confidence makeover full circle 🥹🥹
😍😍😍

This was great. I’m 53 and this applies to my body changes from menopause. So helpful!

The Chessy comment is so real! That is literally how I've described my postpartum style lol I gasped when Rachel said that we all get to that point
I love Sierra's idea of a completely separate wardrobe to go to at this time instead of the huge, overwhelming closet
Hey Sierra ! I am not a mother but I still find this video super relatable. After many changes in my life from a complete career change to a recent break up from a long term relationship I too am on a journey to finding my personal style.

I saw Sierra wearing a green skirt and graphic tee... And now I want to wear a green skirt and graphic tee! 💚
I’m 8 years postpartum and still working on accepting my post-baby body changes lol… it’s a journey.
im lowkey obsessed with rachel, what a cool personality!!
Now 12 months postpartum and wow this was the video I needed 10 months ago! Thank you for sharing and making many of us feel less alone ❤

Motherhood looks good on you 🩷
“And to think Abercrombie used to scare the **** out of me when I was a teenager” made me laugh😂😂😂
Love this video so much!!
Watching this as someone who does not have a baby yet but dreams of being a mommy one day and I’m so grateful for this video and conversations!
Love seeing your enthusiasm progress through the video. PP can be such a struggle, thanks for showing possible steps we can take
This video was so joyful.
I’m loving the videos with you and Rachel! We need more please 💜
Rachel, thankyou for sharing your eating disorder recovery- brave and inspiring.
You both look gorgeous 😍
I wanna hug both of them 🩵 you can tell they're good friends
*This video helped me after having four kids close in age, and after a huge weight loss and loose skin. My hips have gotten so wide... Anyway, my weight won't go down after having baby number four, and it is so irritating. Because I am not getting my skin removal surgery before that happens, the problem is it might never happen... But I have just started buying clothes that fit my body now. ❤*
I have been EAGERLY anticipating this video! YAYYYYY!
My third PP style journey relates to this… I felt like I didn’t know how to dress myself at all. Then I discovered Kibbe body types, and also discovered the magical world of comfy dresses. I wear nothing else now and have never felt more confident!
You both look so great! Thank you for this video. 💖
You don’t know how much I need this video 🥹
Crop tops and high waisted loose shorts with big pockets got me through the first 3 months postpartum. I didn't have to look at my new shape until I was more used to it, easy breastfeeding access, and big pockets to carry all the necessaries. Peak postpartum uniform. 👏
You both just had babies. It takes time but you will feel better soon. Try to think of those beautiful babies you just brought into the world. Good luck ladies
YASSSS THE Sage and Sprout “I Can Fix Him” shirt is everything! ❤
When you clean out your closet or buy new clothes, turn the hanger backwards when you hang it up.
Use your hair straitener as a micro-iron. Works great on hems!
I hung up my bra license.
Ugh yes!! I’ve been waiting for this!
It's so hard to deal with if
you can't do anything about it, because it's caused by health problems.
Would love to see how a professional stylist would style your team 😍 or even digital online stylists for each member
You two look great in your newly-put-together outfits!! Way to go, cuties!!
Great video girls! You inspired me to go through my closet and wear a button up 😂 I thought of a cute outfit idea that I already have as I watch watching this video and I’m excited to try it today ! Keep up the great work 🩵
Sierra you look amazingggggggg😭😭 as someone who watches your blogs im so happy you made this video and i hope it was the confidence boost you needed
My closet is a mess right now... but you guys gave me motivation to figure out some fun easy outfit formulas! It's so hard when our bodies are constantly changing....
Having my first baby end of October! I just know this video is going to help so much postpartum ❤ Thanks girly's!
Congratulations!!! I have an October 2023 baby - such an amazing birth month.
Wait until you turn 40 and your body says to you, "I hate you!"
It's a lot.
I loved the idea of a capsule wardrobe inside your wardrobe! 🫶🏻
Loving the vibe of this video 💚
I just had my son 11 days ago. I’m already back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I definitely look different 😂. For me personally, with what my son and I went through at the birth, I get an enormous sense of pride seeing my postpartum body. It’s different and there’s stretch marks galore, but it all got me my perfect baby boy. I’m still wearing comfy bottoms because I had a c-section but I’m excited to see what the future holds!
Because of this video I went and threw a button down flannel over my blsck tee and jean shorts and now I feel more put together ❤️
I loved this video! I am two months postpartum and am definitely struggling with my style.
YALL ARE GLOWING! YOU LOOK LOVELY!
Pinterest board
Staples i feel confident in
Not trying to wear clothes that are to tight !!
2nd time postpartum and i needed this video!
29:23 lmaooooo I feel like the demo of how to breastfeed in the overalls was for me!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Either way, loooooved this.
So thank you for the openness and vulnerability in this video, very much connected with you two even if we're at different stages in life ❤
Rachel’s game collection above her closet>>>
Even on what you guys considered your worse styling days, you are more put together than half the people I see when I go out.
I would love to know if anyone has tips on finding outfits on Pinterest. It seems like all I ever find our ads for things that are not related and it’s so frustrating and sidenote the little insert after you showed Rachel‘s shirt was so stinking cute and I’m here for it!❤
Loved this video!! Your styles are so cute 💕
I never felt worse in my body than being pp. I went through it 3 times, the first was definitely the worst because I wasnt prepared for such drastic changes. For the second two, I just immediately sized up so I would feel more comfortable. It's hard! Much ❤
So excited!!!
