Theres so many different types of magnesium!! Magnesium citrate is specifically to help with constipation, so that could upset your stomach. Make sure you are taking the right one for your needs!

Magnesium oxide is awful value as it’s 90% not absorbed by your body. That’s why it’s so cheap and is the one mainly sold at supermarkets. Magnesium Citrate is a common and reasonably well absorbed type but if you’re getting negative effects simply reducing the dose can help enormously. Reduce your dose by half 👍
I had the same issue with magnesium citrate when i started taking it to help with sleep. A doctor of mine recommended magnesium bisglycinate as it's more well tolerated by upset tummies (I have IBS as well). Sometimes gives me a bit of acid reflux if I dont take it with a little bit of food (a bickie is fine), but that's the one I've found is best for me. Also re: the caffiene, ask how many shots of espresso are in your standard size of latte. I get a venti from starbucks and the standard is 2 shots, but it's still 2 shots for a grande (therefore the caffiene is more diluted by the milk in a larger coffee). My recommendation would be either order a larger size with a smaller shot ratio, or order your standard with less shots. If you put sweeteners (particularly a syrup), your tummy might also be reacting to that (i dont usually take sugar in any coffee, but when I do I opt for a packet of brown sugar). I am also mildly lactose intolerant (fine with cheese and yogurt, but ice cream or large quantities of milk make me sick), and since I dont like alternative milks in coffee, I always ask if they have lactose free milk (I buy a brand that tastes literally identical to regular milk) and have found that to have really helped.

Hey Susie! The magnesium is a real thing! There are two types to look for depending on different needs for your body: Magnesium Glycinate is for having trouble sleeping, need enhanced calm and muscle relaxation, or want to support your mood. Magnesium Citrate if you're looking to boost your overall levels of Magnesium in your body, or if you're looking for digestive regularity or cardiovascular support. A lot of store ones have both, so be aware :) Hope that helps!

When I cut out dairy my IBS improved a whole lot. You could experiment with oat milk or some other plant milk in your morning coffee. Along with many other commenters, I agree that the form of magnesium might be giving you digestive issues if you are using magnesium citrate.
Love you Susie! I had to cut out coffee for 2 months just recently and it helped, definitely would recommend. I was able to drink tea while my stomach lining healed. It's slowed me down but, in the end, definitely helped.

GIRL! I had the same issue with the magnesium. You might want to try and switch to magnesium glycinate. Made a world of a difference with my stress/anxiety levels and didn't upset my tummy. xx
You could also try to have your coffee after you have eaten something. Other than your little shake. Caffeine stimulates “the movement” after about 5min. That’s actually the reason why so many people actually drink it on an empty stomach.

I relate so much with you, I have PCOS and I love coffee I have been trying to cut out caffeine I know its difficult but caffeine really does not help with PCOS, I woke up with a bloated stomach just like you and it brings me bad mood :( You can start by choosing decaf!! I love your video so much pls don't ever stop making video and you are very funny and pretty even without makeup!!!
I would also suggested you start out your day with some sort of tea (ginger lemon for example) and avoid eating sweets (fruits, chocolate milk) before you actually eat protein since it will spike your blood sugar and cause all sorts of tummy issues! Just a little tip from a girlie with tummy issues 🥲❤

Best magnesium for those of us who cannot tolerate any oral form is transdermal magnesium. I make my own with magnesium chloride flakes and boiling water. I put it in a spray bottle and use it before bed. It does sting a bit until your body gets used to it. It was a game changer for me personally. You can also buy lotions with it or spray. I've even used essential oil in it
I use Magnesium Glycenate and it works well and doesn’t upset my tummy! It’s more dedicated to relax your muscles and help you sleep than the other types. Also I have PCOS too and it supposedly is good for inflammation and blood sugar as well!
I cut out csffeine a few years ago. I'll occasionally have caffeinated coffee if theres no other choice (i have to be careful though cause it messed me up once). I feel so much better, sleep better, and dont get all panicky. Decaf iced lattes have been a staple and i can bave a thousand of them wuthput giving myself a cardiac arrest. Plus the placebo from drinking decaf got me through the really rough week or two when i first gave caffeine up. If youre considering it i really do recommend it !!

U also have to know how many grams of magnesium ur body needs. That is why I reccomend using a powder magnesium to add progressive scoops in water, once u start feeling an upset tummy that means u have reached ur magnesium limit so step back a teaspoon.

It's not the caffeine that's upsetting your stomach, it would just be the coffee itself. I switched to matcha lattes with non-dairy milk for the same reasons and everything's been great! Plus you don't get the crash that you get with coffee because it's tea 😊

Try magnesium glycinate or taureate instead! Also, might want to eat more before caffeine/stimulant meds! I can never take my meds unless I've had a solid meal first.
Coffee is both a laxative and a diuretic ( water loss). Most people don’t even realize how dependent on their morning coffee they are for their morning shit. And absolutely magnesium can cause major stomach upset. I was unable to tolerate it I took the calm powder and it gave me mad diarrhea but you can try a different form of it for the calming affect
You said "ham in the fridge" right after I finished snacking on some ham in the fridge for my afternoon tea. And I've never done that before. I am shooketh.
The magnesium did the same thing to me! Totally the culprit. I'm trying a new way to work it in: take one Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I'll let you know!

Hi Susie, it could be the inositol that’s hurting your stomach, I have to cycle on and off it due to it causing stomach issues x
It's not the caffeine that's upsetting your stomach, it would just be the coffee itself. I switched to matcha lattes with non-dairy milk for the same reasons and everything's been great! Plus you don't get the crash that you get with coffee because it's tea 😊

Try magnesium glycinate or taureate instead! Also, might want to eat more before caffeine/stimulant meds! I can never take my meds unless I've had a solid meal first.
Coffee is both a laxative and a diuretic ( water loss). Most people don’t even realize how dependent on their morning coffee they are for their morning shit. And absolutely magnesium can cause major stomach upset. I was unable to tolerate it I took the calm powder and it gave me mad diarrhea but you can try a different form of it for the calming affect
I have adhd and I take stimulant medication. Usually I'm not hungry after taking them, and even a bit nauseous if I'm "confronted" with food.

Maybe try doing half caffeine and half decaf for your coffee. It really does help and you can still enjoy your coffee ❤
