Among the funniest and most talented comedians ever. He was friendly too. He would frequently chat and entertain Santa Barbara locals when he lived in Montecito. Even sat down with me for a one-on-one a couple times outside Pierre La Fond's in the upper Village.
945 Lilac Drive in Montecito, CA is a European-inspired stucco and stone-clad mansion that was once the home of American comedian Jonathan Winters and wife Eileen. It is situated on three acres of land and boasts peerless ocean, island, and mountain views.
That's true however , for some curious reason, some people are threatened by laughter. Ive known people like this. I have to wonder why. @jackalope_hunter
Jonathan Winters was truly the king of off-the-wall, crazy improvisational comedy. He was Robin Williams' mentor and dear friend. Like many comedians and other performers, Jonathan had his personal demons. He 'let it all hang out', on stage.🤪
Watching him I can't help thinking Robin Williams borrowed a whole pile of JW's act. Look how many things he does and tell me he doesn't remind you of Robin Williams. No wonder he hired him to do Mork and Mindy. He probably owed that much to him.
Jonathan Winters was known as Robin Williams "GODFATHER" and Robin always called him or referred to him as "DAD". Winters was the reason Williams got into show business when he saw via his father during the times Winters was on TV. Williams saw him and never looked back. True story...FACT
Robin Williams was his own force, and Jonathan Winters agreed. Obviously, Mr. Williams also borrowed much from him, and beautifully created hills own identity.
Indian joke and Gay jokes today the audience they wouldn’t like it and they would heckle and eventually they would attack the stage! Thank God They was only one person!

Ok a comb to comb a cat's whiskers and you have to be weird to go out west. This isn't funny. I don't care what reverence people pretend to have because either they're old or because they want to seem smarter. This is nothing.
One of my favorite comedians of all time.
My favorite comedian of all time! Nobody comes close to his talent.
I agree...but gailard sartain comes very close...

Jonathan's appearance was one of the highlights of the third season.
Excellent!
Love Johnathan Winters ❤
First time hearing him. He speaks of pioneers in his set but he was definitely a pioneer of comedy. Robin Williams was a fan you can tell
Best intro ever.
Jonathan Winters part of my growing up. RIP great madman!
Unfunny as all get out
@@droidgunner3840 it's from a different time, different tastes in comedy

They should've locked that man up. He was too funny to be let loose.
@@AHHTHEFRENCHAMPAGNE True! He got out just before It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World. 😁
😂
I didn't laugh once during watching this
Your humor. Less@@Stevesbackup
They did. A couple of times.
He was amazing 😅
One of a kind.
You can really see how Robin Williams got his influence.
You're right. I never thought of that until now
I remember watching this episode of The Smotherst Brothers show . Mr. Winters was Hilarious then and he still makes me laugh. 😅😂😅🤣
Very wide range of characters that he played so well
😂🤠 I'm crying laughing at this!
Thanks for watching!
I love Mr. Winter with clowing self 💪🏾👊🏾
So great
Unreal , reminds me of the way robin Williams , acted a bit at times , must have loved this man
They were actually very good friends!
Smothers were great .
He's pretty good at pulling off all those characters! I wonder if he was a source of inspiration for Robin Williams?
He was indeed. Robin Williams said in many interviews that J.W. was his mentor.
Winters in his prime. The first line in this cracked me up.
Maestro
Lol 🕊 😆 🤣 😂 😹 ❤ 🕊 MuchLove!!!
Some things age better than others but he is funny.
Hah agreed
Hilarious!
You can see where Robin Williams got his inspiration. Very similar styles.
Damn, roots of Robin Williams or what.....
Big time.
Never new who Winters was till now, and definitely!!!
This is when comedy was comedy and clean. Jonathon Winters, Bob Hope, Don Rickle…etc
Loosening of associations- very manic, but very funny! 😁
I always loved the baby he'd pretend to be. Absolutely hysterically funny!

Robin Williams stole his whole act from JW.
I just wrote that too. Look below.
Yep!
“Nano nano”
Robin Williams learn3d from him

If not for Jonathan Winters, would we have Dom DeLuise?
what!?!?!?! Dom DeLuise isn't anything LIKE J. W.
Robin Williams is speedy Gonzales
Obvious influence on Robin Williams
1000👍
He gets more laughs when he talks gay😂😂😂😂
He was locked up for a while, not in jail. Sanitarium
They did lock him up for a while.
I wonder how much of what he said was planned beforehand … I mean, I know he’s a legend at improvisational comedy but … did he even know the topic?
Indian joke and Gay jokes today the audience they wouldn’t like it and they would heckle and eventually they would attack the stage! Thank God They was only one person!
So Robin Williams straight up copied him? Just with extra mania?

The most unfunny man ever! I have never laughed at anything this unfunny and underrated comedian has ever said or done.
But you’ve commented on it!
Was that a Freudian slip? You said underated, sir.
@@nandanshoI caught that also!
