    what a class act! 80 years old and still killing it, and seems very humble. loved him in bad lieutenant, clockers, and pulp fiction

    One of the only things I learned from this interview was that the interviewer was a nervous fan of Keitel. There's a lesson to be learned in that.

    The stealth deadpan delivery of "I think...the chief thing they want to know is if they can get ahead of me" makes me laugh out loud every time. Good shit there from Keitel.

    This was a refreshingly great interview with such a seasoned actor. I think his career was (for the first 20 years) 90% hard work 5% luck, and 5% timing. Really intelligent actor.

    Two words come to my mind, watching one of my FAVORITE actors in Harvey Keitel. GENUINE, and NON-PRETENCIOUS. This guy has given me some of the greatest cinematic experiences (just as a viewer) of my life. I went to see a film of his at an art house cinema in Dallas called "Three Seasons". Here I was a young guy age 26, no social skills and never experienced love. And I was deeply deeply moved by the James Hager character. This guy sitting in the plastic molded chair, waiting on the SMALL SMALL chance he's going to see his daughter. I'm here to tell you I don't cry easy. I came REALLY close to crying watching that.

    Hey man... awesome interview. You asked wonderful questions. I'm regards to Keital, yeah he's the best. Always impressed with his acting. Heard many stories over the years: he's humble, generous, polite...I think he helps fund people starting out in movies ..like reservoir, and I think he paid for Tim Roth's wedding.

    Yes! He bled the soul out of me when I watched Bad Lt. what a portrait of suffering man he was perfect! Perfect! I couldn’t believe it! Like everybody else, I’d watched his work for years, but that particular film really got me, and I think he was the one actor who could pull off representing the life of an addict with local power, and the resultant drama…in NYC, no less. I won’t go on, but l could easily rave about his beautifully crafted, understated performances in some of the greatest pictures in cinema history! Thank you very much.

    Sadly I never gave this man much thought - but now that I do., he's a seriously great actor! While he's hardly a No-Body, I think he doesn't get due credit where its earned. Or perhaps not enough credit for his work.

    Hey, I know you were under the gun for this interview, you might have been a bit nervous, but your questions were great. You asked "nuts and bolts" questions, which are favorites. I almost didn't click on this interview because I still haven't seen "Youth", but I'm really happy I did. I loved how he obviously was trying to put you at ease and answer all your questions. You got good stuff out of him. The very last story, about "The Duelists". And I've heard him talk about preparing for "Taxi Driver", but I don't think I've ever heard him talk about the "love her" part. Thanks for putting this up for us to watch!

    Harvey Keitel acting legend

  • @Rob-sk1im
    @Rob-sk1im 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Every film that I've seen Harvey in, he steals the scene. For instance for those of you who may have missed the early 90s film Mortal Thoughts with Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, Keitel surpasses them both. Moore and Willis were "bankable stars" at the time, but it's Harvey Keitel that kills it in every scene.

    Keitel seems to be a difficult actor to work with. Francis Coppola substituted him in "Apocalypse Now" with Martin Sheen. Stanley Kubrick substituted him in "Eyes Wide Shut" with Sydney Pollack. Quentin Tarantino hasn't worked with him since the mid-90s and there are rumors that they had a falling out. And you have to wonder why Scorsese hasn't worked with him ever sine "The Last Temptation of Christ" in 1988 (even though he was cast in the upcoming "The Irishman").

    • @TTM9691
      @TTM9691 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He's got a cameo in "Inglorious Basterds". Actually, it's an audio "cameo" if I remember correctly. I believe that's who is on the other end of the phone when Brad Pitt or Christoph Waltz are making the arrangements for Waltz's "surrender".
