‘That’s When The Tears Start’ / ‘Good, Good Lovin’’, one of the greatest single records ever, ever made. Gorgeous, ear candy soul music. I swear I could listen to Darlene sing all damn day.
I played with them on tour when they were backing Tom Jones. They did their own numbers also. Great girls to hang with, totally pros, wonderful people all the way. That was 1972 for 3 months and 1973 but I went back to Las Vegas after 6 weeks and made some real money. The Tom Jones thing was to promote The Jeff Sturgess " Universe" Big Band. An 18 piece Heavy Rock experimental band based in Vegas. London Records signed us and put us with Tom who was also on London. The second tour in 83, the band, Universe was dropped from London Records and we were not being promoted on the the tour playing our own music in the opening of the show. That is why I went back to Vegas to make big money so I could save up and finance my JAZZ career. I was 26 -27 years old now I am 76 and still playing Jazz in Copenhagen, Denmark. Just a glimpse into the realities of the music business. The Blossom were wonderful down to earth women!
