I couldn’t believe it. The candle just flew out of the bag and crashed into the floor. I was so upset upset lol but yes, we will definitely definitely have to do this again. I enjoyed our time together.

I was amazed at all of the Rae Dunn. I have a few pieces, but i really don't consider myself a collector. I absolutely loved the depression glass domed dish at the beginning and that big blue hen. That piece that you thought wasn't a crock because it had a lid, looked like it had some age to it. Some crocks do have lids, but I'm not sure if that was actually considered a crock. I got a candle once that got a candle once that was broken during shipping. I placed it inside a bag and carefully removed the rest of the glass wearing protective gloves. It was a little difficult working inside of the bag, so a box or something you can work over to contain the glass pieces. I even had to use a knife to scrape small glass fragments off of the wax that had imbedded in the candle. I wound up melting mine down and making a new candle because it was so damaged. Good luck with that how ever you decide to deal with it, but be very careful.
I was very surprised at all of the items that were donated. I know a lot of people are already done with it, but I am still a huge lover of the collection. And someone else’s loss is my treasure now lol. I just love finding collections like this it makes me so excited. Thank you so much for, the suggestion on how to carefully get the candle. I definitely will try that out. Almost all of the glass is cracked so it should easily come off with just a few bangs hopefully lol. Appreciate you so much!
In case nobody has mentioned it, you can a candle in the freezer overnight and the wax will shrink a bit where it’ll make it easy to pop out of the vessel by gently tapping it upside down on a surface. Hope this helps!
Hi Cynthia, it definitely could be. It was such a huge collection and it looks like it had been collected over many years. There were so many special occasions holidays special moments in life that definitely would be very sad to hear it was someone’s collection.
