That "Thank you" at the end was pretty realistic. There's a lot of good acting in these videos, which just makes the fact that all the characters are played by the same actor even funnier.

The joke was good, but the truth is Dan Harmon negotiated this deal for a long time. So long, in fact, that for a moment it was believed the show would be cancelled.

The term is Gaslighting, not green lighting. Also it was never really a gimmick in this show where the exec doesn’t accept the pitch. The point has always been they pitch major flaws and just go with it cuz it made it into a finished project already.

For example, if a city greenlights a new road, it means the city is allowing the road to be built and supports the project. And aside from that, the guy was making a joke, we know what the point of the show is, he was simply joking.

Exactly you can laugh at the joke and also laugh at whatever is ripping on the joke too. The Pickle Rick episode has one of my favorite rants about the value of mental health treatment. Sure there was rat feces and blood, but it also had valuable message and the action sequences were dope. Pitch Meetings still nailed it though lol
