Just popping in to support the channel, compadre! Going to let this one play in the background on mute for now, but I'm cautiously excited for the film. I'm still not over the original title for it either. 🙃😵🥴
I think the ending played into the character. She was clearly enamored by the lifestyle and ofc after that you can’t go back to normal but playing the I know u know game instead of blowing the lid goes along with the characters early portrayed morals.
@@SadesBD for sure, like I said, I can see what they were going for. I personally just found the ending a bit lackluster after everything that happened.
Saw this today and I was not super crazy about it. Was a bit over the top with its subject matter and not executed very well. The ending wasn't the "great" moment that Kravitz was going for, imo. I did enjoy it a little more than The Crow, but that's not saying much because The Crow was pretty bad.
6:53 the abrupt nature of the movie from one scene to the next is to show the amnesia effects and how the main character is confused just like you the audience its on purpose and the ending is fine she stopped more women from being forced and took over the company to do better things with the money
Forreeaaal!!!!😢 I just went and saw it with my mom and I honestly thought it was gonna be some spoofy horror comedy. I had no idea it was gonna go in the direction it did... I literally almost got up and left... once it got to the r*p3 scenes I mentally checked out.. I was DONE with that movie there was no redeeming itself after that crap.. It was way too much... I didn't realize that I kept saying "Oh my goshhh what the h3ll this is so horrible...🥺😖😳👀🤢🤮" over and over so loudly my mom was like shhhh Amanda.... it's just a movie it's ok🥴🤣 Yewaah NO mom.. Channing Tatum is probably part of the Hollyweird club and they have to tell us what they're doing through jokes, movies, songs, etc. So I feel like we just witnessed how Hollyweird really gets down. It got too real.. It's just too much for me now. I can't watch any movie without it being ruined from knowing the sick crap that our once favorite actors have done. It's sad and it sucks😔
@@BIG-7777I thought the same thing when ppl said she's sending a message/telling something yeah the sick Hollywood cult club who does SA and heinous thing for fame and riches.
@@amandaboo97agreed! When I heard in reviews what it's about I instantly thought this is them doing a reveal of what they do in their sick cult. This is how most of them get their fame opportunities and wealth.
Movies like this that try to balance tension and comedy effectively have to be handled by a true master of the medium, and the pacing of this film really held it back from reaching its true potential. It has moments that will shock you, make you laugh, and leave you wanting more...But there is a massive amount of wasted runtime in the middle that could've been spent getting us attached to these characters to make the conclusion that much more impactful. I think Zoe Kravitz has a future as a director, but this one didn't really land for me. Great review, Anthony!
I think this was a really great directorial debut from Zoe, it has it's flaws of course. I think I liked it a little bit more than yourself! Great review
I still want to see Zoe's first Directorial film. It's interesting that her Step-Father's new girlfriend is in it. This is a close family. lol Nice review!! :)
You liked it slightly more. I did like its stylistic choice especially with using red and white. Definitely agree about the messages that would relate towards women. Pacing was a little slower for me. Not sure how much rewatch value it has for me either.
It was garbage. This was NOT entertainment. It was a movie about the R word. It was also a woke movie that once again said man bad. R is NOT entertainment.
@@FreedomKat I don’t think all films need to solely be made for the purpose of entertainment. It’s all art, and I can use the medium to get a message across. A message that I don’t think specially says “man bad”, but I can understand why that may be the takeaway for many. With all that said, if you didn’t like it, that’s totally fair. That’s the subjective nature of film!
Definitely a woke feminist movie for sure definitely some undertone to woman empowerment but in a toxic way. People who are blind don’t see it. People would rather stay blind and cow down to the system. Men need to grow some cahonis and stop being so feminine
