This is XH-M604 Battery Charger Control Module. This module can handle DC 6 volt to 60 volts. You can use this charging module to charge Lithium Batteries.

Using this I could use the alternator from my car to charge a smaller battery (like one in an APC) without the risk to overcharge the smaller battery ? Would this prevent ocer discharge too ? I suppose a battery isolator is require too ?
There is no discharging system. But once the battery is fully charged the power will automatically be cut off. Therefore, there is no issue about overcharging.
So, this is 2 point charger. What is the coil good for and the IC under the heat sink?
The IC with heat sink is a voltage regulator LM 2596. The coil is used as an inductor. Those are used to pass the smooth current through the circuit. Inductors are also useful in removing noise due to their ability to keep out high-frequency AC.
Does it also work as buck/boost convertor or do I need to supply exact voltage? May my supply voltage fluctuate? Thank you
no boost or buck. you have to use sufficient voltage are you required to charge the battery.

do not directly connect this with solar. This can be used to charge the battery using power supplies. Use solar charging controller and set the correct settings to stop charging voltage then the battery will not be over charged.
So if i use this circuit there will be no issues if i will leave my charger on 24/7.. because i will be using this to power my 12 v alarm system in my vacation house...and sometimes it takes months before i visit my place...thankx

Will it work as under voltage protection?
You can convert it.
The LED remains light up after disconnect input supply. Also it continuesly used battery (consumes battery) when not connected to input supply. How to connect led that only light up when inserting input supply and led off when remove input supply on the module?
It is required to connect the battery with circuit to detect the voltage level. Then only the circuit can detect the voltage is lower than the minimum voltage. The LED is just and indicator, if you do not want it, you can remove it.

It is based on the battery current and the voltage.

I do not think so. Since this is a pre programmed one, we can not change. But you can hack with few modifications.

Not engouh as if you charge a battery 60v, you may need power more than 60V.
48v & 51.8v lithium battery can charge with giving voltage below 60v.👍

normally it is recommended a charger with 10% from the Ah of the battery. This relay can handle only maximum 30A. If you want more, use a automotive relay like 80A

150Ah battery needs 15A charger. yes you can use up to 30A
i have issue with this control module i test the battery in multimeter it shows 12.8v dc but then when i connect to the control module it shows 13.9v dc does anyone give the solution how to calibrate the display of control module?
It is normal to show the voltage is higher than the module on multimeter. But this is un usual.

No. you can not regulate the voltage using this module.

@@arpitsingh5152 This thing will only output same voltage you feed it then cuts off power when it reaches max or drops below minimum. What you need is a step down buck converter.

No you have to set the cut off voltage and re charging voltage.

I don't think the circuit can handle 30amp the tracks is too thin at the bottom from the relay it will probably burn out
NO, I am using 30A power supply to charge 120Ah car battery. There is no issue.

It takes only small current to keep standby the unit. I think there may be a short .
