This video demonstrates why I am such a fan of DeadAir. Mike takes the time out of his schedule to personally address questions/concerns of his customers. In addition to, in my opinion the best suppressors in the industry also the Best customer service. Thanks Pappas
Had this issue with a new Sandman S contacted Deadair with a picture of the alignment rod and they were really quick to respond and answer all my questions. Thank you Michael M. For the great customer service.
I've got an S that I run on a Ruger Scout Rifle and the alignment rod looks just like this-not perfectly down the center. The rifle shoots 5/8 inch groups, so for those of you wondering, it does not affect accuracy. The Ruger Scout Rifle has an odd barrel profile and the shims sit over the thread shoulder by a hair. That is to say, all these imperfections and it still shoots really, really well. Just thought I'd share that.
I looked all over for this exact video. Thank you sir putting this out there. I was worried that my SureFire TC2 can was going to have issues because the rod wasn’t completely dead center. My DeadAir can was dead center so that’s what made me worried.
My friend has an AK Vepr rifle and the gunsmith at the range told us to go with the Dead Air Wolverine suppressor because the AK rifle was not concentric (he never even looked at it). We looked at it and the threads looked evenly spaced around the bore. Thanks for your through explanation; it explains a lot. Would be great if Dead Air made a plastic threaded faux suppressor for the sake of measuring concentricity and alignment prior to actually purchasing a suppressor.
My man. Thanks for your time in explaining this. I just bought a bore gauge for my pistol and suppressor (dead air mask) and wanted to ensure i gauged it correctly
Wow. I don't know how many videos I had to search for before I found this one. I just installed my first muzzle device on my own; a Surefire WarComp on a 300BLK 8" pistol and added a B&T 7.62 Compact SF suppressor and when I checked the alignment with the rod (I have the Geissele), it seems to favor the 12o'clock position. But because the end cap have like these zig zag channels going out to the sides, from the bore hole, it's hard to tell if it's just the shadows from that and is playing with my eyesight or not.
Really thankful for the vid. Instructions from geissele says "dead on center" was a bit upset by necessity to send almost all my barrels to a gunsmith. But a had a doubt of necessity, because some barrels are not perfect, but I shoot quite a lot them before I got the rod. To you just confirmed my thoughts
Thank you for this explanation. Just got a geissle alignment rod and going through my ARs. Couple are center and a couple are slightly off but not touching like you said. Think I'll be off to the range.
MIke, I bought my first Dead Air last year. Just got it in a couple months ago and love it. I haven't checked concentricity on my .300blk but need to check the .300 WinMag. Great vid.
You guys should sell these rods. You can stuff a "coupon" for 10 buck in every suppressor box. I'd buy one of those if they were priced reasonably (>$50 is not reasonable).
Unfortunately I just got my Sierra 5 in today putting alignment rod through it on four different hosts and it's off. Once I did that I noticed when you set the can up straight it's bent in the middle the weld is off, underhangs on one side and overhangs on the other
I see you have Xeno options for 556 cans. So with dead air wolfman I could get Xeno flash hiders for my 9mm PCC, 300 bo & 556 pistols & swap can put quickly correct? In the description for Xeno devices it says repeatable, accurate & lightweight. Then for keymo & Keymicro it just says quick attach. So is Xeno superior to keyo for retaining zero??
If I don’t plan on shooting my rifle without the suppressor is there any reason why the muzzle brake needs to still be timed? It’s so much straighter through the barrel and out the suppressor without shims
Mounted my sandman s to like 6 of my armalite platform already and was told on purchase day not to bother with alignment rods unless i was putting it on an ak. I do t own one so didnt get rods. Now im worried cause people telling me i should of been using them all along. Just got another 6 more keymos in so thought before i shoot from them maybe j should see about some rods.
Being new to the suppressor game, can a .223/5.56 rod be used on a .30 cal ( .300 Blk specifically), barrel, or does it need to be a dedicated .30 cal rod?
@@RJ-lv4yw hownu gonna put a 30 cal rod down a 556 barrel? I know he was asking the opposite of that but do u need one for every caliber u use your supressor on or can u use a 7.62 on a 300blk or do u need one for7.62, 270, 264, 300, 6.5, 556, 204, and 25wssm? I hadnt used a rod and now im seeing everyone say u should so im just trying to find out
Any firearm I've had from a quality, reputable manufacturer has never had concentricity issues. Please do your own research From what I've seen, when you have a barrel cut and re-threaded or threaded for the first time, that is where I have seen most issues arise.
Sometimes it’s not the barrel but the muzzle device. I had an out of spec OSS brake one time. The local gunsmith and I discovered this but using a direct thread can to check it. OSS was contacted and hooked me up with a new. Shit happens sometimes

You guys did an excellent job with this latest marketing push. Mike's an easy guy to listen to anyway but these little tutorials are perfect.

Thanks for providing such an informative video. I just recieved my first suppressor and needed a straight-talk video such as this one.

Ah, i thought the correct answer was “send it”
If it's an AK don't send it. If it's everything else send it lol

When you put that wolverine on, do you have to make sight adjustments?
You have any POI shift when swapping between cans? Would be cool to see
Great vid. Always worried about this. Thanks amigos.

This is a bit off-topic, but does Dead Air have a facility or operations in Norcross GA?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I bought the primal so there’s gonna be a bus width of clearance between the baffles and a 5.56 round
Nice. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know how deadair got its name?
I imagine it's referring to the term in radio. "Dead air" means no one's talking and there's no music. Complete silence
I want some of what this guy is smoking he’s super chill
dude is on that good shizz

I want to suppress my AK’s. It seems the barrels were threaded on with crayons.
I will echo what tztony195 said. Dead air and those guys are the best bar none.

Shouldn't suppressor alignment be known as coaxility instead, since you want the barrel axis and suppressor axis to be aligned.
Your cable company won’t share that word with the suppressor industry
@@andyleotell😂😂
Threads shouldn't have any play. I'd take a GO/NOGO thread gauge to make sure the threads are uniform.
I own quality a few dead air suppressors.
dead air is the only brand suppressor I will buy
Can we get this guy some coffee and maybe a computerized graphic example.
Sounding a little like Forrest Gump there mike lol
He put me to sleep
Its a very soothing voice.
