  • The ring of six bells hung at the church of St Mary in Redgrave were primarily cast by Thomas Newman, with the back five having been cast in 1736. In 1785 they were augmented to six by Thomas Osborn at which time they were hung in a new oak frame. In 2019 the bells were rehung, with it being largely a conservation job, which saw the frame repaired and strengthened and minor work being undertaken to the fittings for the bells.
The church of St Mary is currently vested in by the Churches Conservation Trust and the bells are largely used as a training centre. They are very easy to ring and strike and the ringing recorded in this video was taken during our Summer tour to Norfolk and Suffolk in 2023.

A Hymns and Pimms Service of Songs of Praise with strawberries and cream will take place at 3 pm on Sunday 30th June, 2024 to celebrate the enigmatic joys of an English summer. The bells will be rung beforehand. This wonderful church will be in the best of festive manner and will welcome all from far and wide. Come, if you can. The welcome will be warmer than you'd ever imagine.
