I love your knitting videos... I think THIS technique is just a fantastic looking cast on for double knitting!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your clear, and slow, instructions, I didn't feel rushed and anxious at all :) Do you think at some point you could do a video on increasing the width on both sides? I've tried several ways and it doesn't really look that hot :/ Thanks again and blessings to you and yours! :)
Hi Nadine. I've only used the smaller sizes (2.75 mm and less) of the square needles. I like them and they do help make neat, evenly sized sts. That being said, if you are an excessively loose knitter, I don't know how much they would help even out tension issues. Hope that helps. Happy knitting!
There's no need to unravel the slip knot. When you pull the first loop through (2:37) the slip knot tightens up and is below your knitting needles. Hope that makes sense.
The colours of your project are beautiful!
You are such a great teacher!
Clear, concise and anticipates questions or problems! THANK YOU
Wow, so pretty!!! Thank you. 😊
Thank you! U make it look soo easy. Great instructions.
Thank you for sharing this video ❤️
Very helpful. Thanks!!
That's a nice tutorial. You forgot to mention, that the slipknot doesn't count and is discarded, so we don't have the bump in our first row
How? Love to know .. undo it n weave in?

I'll add that to my on-going and ever growing idea list. It's always helpful to know what knitters want to learn more about.
@@thechillydog thanks for the video
Oh this is good, now to get the brain n fingers doing the right things .. at the same time 🤣
I am wondering if it is possible use this method with a long tail cast on. I would really like to try it!
As always, such a nice verbal lesson. Ellen, how do you like these squared needles? I'm thinking about purchasing them to help with evening tension.

Quick question, do we unravel the slip knot at the end or do we just disregard it once we start double knitting?
